Absolutely fantastic! While the general opinion is that "the book is always better than the movie," I actually felt much more emotional during this than during the book. It was very faithful to the book, and yet altered some scenes in ways that made them even better than I had imagined in the book. Very mature, creepy, and artistic movie. One warning however: If you haven't read the book, you may not understand the plot very well. Keep in mind that this is only half of a 5 hour movie, so don't be disappointed by the anticlimactic ending.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
