Saw Part I last night with my three children, ages 16, 14, and 9. My 9 year old is only up to the fourth book, but thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Thought the acting was superb. I still jumped in my seat at the scene with Nagini in Godric's Hollow. Just when I was totally mesmerized by the movie, it ended. I cannot wait until July, the finale will be spectacular, cannot wait for the final battle scene at Hogwarts.

This Harry Potter movie is undeniably the best one so far. It is true to the book, the actors are at their best, and it hits almost all of the highlights in the very large span of the seventh book. The special effects are stunning and the backdrops are better than I could have imagined.

Having never read the Harry Potter books, I don't have a good basis to determine if it was accurate to them. But as far as a moviegoing experience, I found the movie slow-paced and chockfull of those 'extraneous things that seem irrelevant at the time of introduction, but will become earth-shatteringly important at a later date'. The movie had decent acting, and the effects were as good as the previous movies in the saga. For completeness, I'd recommend seeing this movie. But, make sure you got good rest before seeing it as it will be boring at times.

Good. Special effects were great. Some scenes were unnecessary (making the movie 'sexy' was unnecessary, thank you very much). Some of the dialogue was silly, but maybe that just had to do with Ron being Ron and all he was dealing with regarding Harry and Hermione. Could have been somewhat condensed. And agreed, Hedwig's Theme should last longer than 2 seconds.
Fun to watch, but part 2 should be better simply because of the way the book is structured - less running and hiding around, more action.

It was frickin brilliant. Slow in parts because it was setting up for the next installment which should be a major action fest. But this had all the excellent character development. Rupert Grint has gotten really good. I think he's the best of the three. The movie reaffirmed my stance that Fred and George are the best characters though. However, this really was just the three main characters with everyone else popping up for cameos. Just like the book, I suppose. The effects were excellent. Some really good humor coupled with very serious drama. Definitely the darkest so far, but again, following the books which get progressively darker and heavier.
One of the best parts is the animation for Hermione's telling of the THREE BROTHERS OF THE DEATHLY HALLOWS tale. It was absolutely gorgeous. So stylized and flowing for simple B&W. Pen and ink flowing madness.
I was afraid I'd lose it for the one scene in the book where I actually cried when reading. I won't ruin it for those who haven't read the book, but those who have should know what I'm talking about. I did tear up a lot. That scene destroyed me when I read it.
Just makes me sad there will no more books in the series. I'm sure she'll do something with the world eventually, but won't be exactly the same. A lot has been invested in these characters over the years. And I'm really looking forward to the finale next year.

I have looked forward to every one of the Harry Potter movies I have enjoyed all of them, and this one topped all the rest. I am just sorry that there will only be one more (part II). I anxiously await the ending I'm sure it will be fantastic. I throughly recommend this movie to all ages, and that they also read the books.

It was by far the best of the series. I absolutely loved the cinematography and the acting. It did a good job of capturing the magic of Harry Potter. It had humor at the right parts but was still dark, like the novel. It was superb. Definitely worth going to the Midnight showing :D

The previous films were good but all strayed from the books and left out alot of good stuff. HOWEVER, this one really knocked it out of the park! it was right on target with the book and was just brilliant!

I saw this movie at 12:04 A.M. the night it came out......could not wait! It is by far my favorite of all the Harry Potter movies! From the first second to the last minute, this movie was awesome! The characters were terrific, the story line followed the book very nicely, and the pieces left out weren't as noticeable to me as they were in the other movies. Cannot wait to see it again...and again!

One of my biggest pet peeves are movies that don't reflect the books exactly. I'm very happy to say, that "The Deathly Hallows - Part 1" is the closest to book seven since the first movie. If you are a Harry Potter junkie like I am, you should really enjoy this movie. I know I did, and will be seeing it agin numerous times, and can't wait for the final installment!

It was worth the wait, just wish we didn't have to wait so long for the second half. Much better done than Half Blood Prince (terrible). The visual effects brought the book to life.

I was sad Hermoine erased her parents memory of her. The snake scene had me screaming and leaping out of my seat! Loved the Ron and Hermoine romance with a little jealousy over Harry. Overall, I'm giving it a thumbs up! Awaiting Part II.

I loved this movie! I feel they finally got back to as close to the story line as they can in a movie. I can't wait until part 2 comes out , and for all those who don't like a two part movie I like it. It gives the suspense that is Harry Potter. I loved everything about this movie if you read the book(s) I think you will love it too.The special effects, acting, wardrobe, cinematography, and I feel the movie series itself was cast very well. I thought that Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was super good! The movie itself followed the book pretty well which made it easy to follow along. I also loved how they kind of set everything up for the last & final movie of Harry Potter. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was that they cut some very detailed parts of the book that were multiple chapters long into like a two minute scene. But other than that, I thought the movie was amazing and it was definitely worth seeing it on the night of the premiere. I would recommend that anyone & everyone of all ages and tastes of movies, see this movie!

Part one is so far the very best of all the Harry Potters. If you have not seen yet you must go c! I have not read th ebooks but from what my friend told me cuz she has read them she said that they included so much from the books that it was unreal. The scenes were epic and you can really tell that the movie indstry has come along way in 10 years. Its so very sad that this series is finally coming to an end but it will sure go out with a bang!!!! :)

HP VII Pt 1 is pitch perfect from start to finish. The 3 main characters have grown into great actors and their performances in this episode are riveting. Emma Watson chews up every scene she's in, which is just about every scene in the movie, and it is tantalizing to watch. Rupert Grint finally gets some meaty moods and dialogue and he is superb. And Daniel, well, he carries the weight of the World and the franchise on his slim, charming shoulders and his tone and nuance are spot on BRILLIANT.
The movie makes you sad, not just because beloved characters are dying, but because we know that the epic is near the end of its run.
The one scene that was added that is NOT in the book is heartbreaking in its sweetness.
BRAVO!

I loved this movie! There were moments that were different then the book or not even in it and i thought they did a good job! It had funny moments and sad moments and it kept me wanting more. The ending leaves you hanging which sucks because it makes me want to see the next part but I think that it ended at a very good part because it was a cliffhanger but theres a second part coming so you look foward to that!

I bought the ticket expecting a great movie, and I got one. :D Of course all the Harry Potter books and movies have been great, and the actors all did an amazing job. I remember the Sorcerer's Stone, when they were all so cute and tiny!! They've all grown up beautifully and were fantastic. I have no complaints!! My only regret is that this is the beginning of the end. :( The Harry Potter Saga is something I will never get tired of!!!

great movie, lots of suspense and action, i thought it was probally the best potter movie yet, left out only a bit of information about regalus and dumbledore's past which will probally be in the next one.
