We loved this movie! Lots of suspense (even though it stays very close to the book) and action. Was not too scary for my 11 year old. But there is violence and some surprises. Definitely depends on the child. The intense violence is in the next one. But we can't wait til it comes out!!!

It's a good thing this isn't the first Harry Potter movie I've seen, or it would be the last. I was very disappointed that the majority of the movie was spent on the three hiding in the woods and other various places. Although that follows the book, I don't know that it was the best for movie goers. The rest of the movies were very action packed and kept your interest the entire throughout. This movie was very long and dragging...I wish I would have saved my money this time. Hopefully the next movie will make for this very lacking event.

Excellent movie! it was full of action and suspense, but kept it's wonderful sentimental appeal from the close friendships made over the entire series of movies. It was right along the same lines as the other movies for plot so there were no confusing parts in it. It was appropriate for children and had the same magical appeal of special effects as the others. A definite cliff hanger for the final movie coming out next year.

I am a 60 year old grandmother of 4 and I have read all the books. I thought the movie was great and stayed true in most part to the book. These young actors have really improved their skills over the years.

Every aspect about the movie was set so perfectly, it was followed by the book very closely besides a few minor details and I'm very glad with this movie, going back to JKs roots rather Hollywoods.

This one was rather intense I thought with a good combination of comedic scenes. I thought that Dobby was brilliant and cute, even better than his appareance in COS. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint all gave a fantastic performance and I cannot wait for Part II.

As a reader and fan of the HP book series, I found this movie exciting and disappointing at the same time. I went into the theater knowing that it was Part 1 or 2 so I would only see part of the story but I felt that some significant parts of the story that were big in the books where either underplayed or just omitted (good-bye scene with Harry and Dudley). I was very excited to see Harry and his friends off on their final adventure but thought there wasn't enough "umph".

I have seen all of the Harry Potter movies with my children and each one has been as good as the last but, I must say this one was a topper as the mystery of why Valdemort is so determined to destroy Harry is unfolding. Though this movie was very dark, it was very very good and shows how much Harry, Hermione and Ron have grown up as they seek to stop Valdemort pretty much on their own. I would go see it again!

Not only were the graphics in the movie much more exciting than the previous 6, but the plot was so adventurous. It had me on the edge of my seat at some parts, and then wanting to cry at others!

While a little slow for some people, I felt that Part I did a much better job of capturing the depth and emotions of the first part of the book (with one notable exclusion) than movies 4 through 6. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the actor David O'Hara in a cameo role after enjoying his portrayal of Lord Surrey on the Tudors. Too bad Nighy wasn't used in the 6th film also, where his character primarily resides.

The movie was EXCELLENT! Such high quality acting, effects and intensity. It is definitely not a light movie - quite dark on some levels, but so well done! I had to make my 8 yr old daughter look away at some parts and give her some background on other parts, but she really enjoyed it. My husband (not a book reader) also enjoyed it. Really makes you long for the last movie.

For those of us who have read the books, this movie was flipping fantastic!!!!! Even though themes were condensed the story stuck very closely to the book. I can't wait for the last movie. If you didn't read the books, then the movie may not be cohesive enough. My husband (did not read books) could not see the story line.
