As a reader and fan of the HP book series, I found this movie exciting and disappointing at the same time. I went into the theater knowing that it was Part 1 or 2 so I would only see part of the story but I felt that some significant parts of the story that were big in the books where either underplayed or just omitted (good-bye scene with Harry and Dudley). I was very excited to see Harry and his friends off on their final adventure but thought there wasn't enough "umph".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
