I have been a fan of the Harry Potter movies from the very beginning, but this latest movie was not one in which I would recommend. It was long and drawn out. Not as much action as the previous movies.

They got it SO right. This is the darkest and most complex of the series so far. Yates manages to capture the turmoil of Harry, Ron and Hermione as they test out their powers and their identities outside Hogwarts at least as well as Rowling did in the book. The way Voldemort is presented is both terrifying and understated; evil is no longer a smoky black mystery, it is a pale, ever-present reality. My favorite film of the series so far by leaps and bounds.

Out of all the movies, this one followed the book best.......... It may have dragged on in a part or two, but it really captured the essence of the book. It was visually stunning and gave you a better look from voldemort's point of view. Hands down, BEST HARRY POTTER YET!

It's a 2.5 hour long movie, but it only feels like 30 minutes because it's very intriguing. I love it, it stayed true to the book, and I can't wait for Part 2!
The only bad thing is that I get a little bored with the search, like Ron did in the movie. But that's how the story goes in the book, so I'm totally ok with that.

Deathly Hallows was great and I will be seeing it again really soon, but this was the only movie, in my opinion, that strayed far from the books. I feel like because they put it into two parts they could have put in more details, like the graveyard scene where they were supposed to be disguised as muggles, or most of the parts at Malfoy Manner. All in all, DH was good, but didn't really live up to my expectations at all.

I would have sat through another 2 & 1/2 hours just to see the ending. The whole movie had you waiting on the edge of your seat.

Part 1 was exciting and fast pace. Wouldn't known it was a 2 1/2 hour movie. Great to see the actors growing up with the movie. Funny, scarry, sad and action packed all in one movie. Can't wait for Part 2.

They did an excellent job of setting the very dark tone and desperate emotions of the remaining members of the Order of the Phoenix. The stakes were set as high as they possibly could have been, and no one was pulling their punches in this story! There was also some very raw emotional scenes between the three friends on their long wonderings and a hearful scene between Harry and Hermione that shows what great friends are best at - giving you a lift when you're desperately low.
The only con's, in my opinion, is that they didn't have time to fully flesh out some of the secondary characters as well as they were in the book. I'm thinking of Luna Lovegood, Olivander, and finally Dobby. I realize that movies have limited time to tell a story, but a lot of time was spent with them walking through distant and empty lands while some of the important story was happening in the background.
Anyway, I don't think anyone left the theater dissatisfied, except that now we have to wait until next summer for the finale. This was a good, solid movie and a great way to begin the ending of Harry Potter.

This is definitely the best HP movie since they changed directors! Of course they left a couple things out, but nothing as drastic as the other movies, and it's such an epic movie! Definitley going to go see it again! Can't get over how great it was.

I thought that this was a fantastic movie! Since the 7th Harry Potter installment is divided into two parts, this gives the filmakers the oppurtunity to add more of the details from the book into the movie, which I am very pleased about. This is probably the most well-made and exciting Harry Potter film since the first one. Upon seeing this movie, I am very anxious to see the final film in the series.

I love all the Harry Potter movies. The last movie Half-Blood Prince, I was disappointed in some spots. But it was good.
Deathly Hallows Part 1 was just AWESOME!
It stayed true to the book. From the beginning to the end, I was lost in it. It didnt seem that long when it was over and it keeps you wanting more!! Go see it!! Truly AWESOME movie!!

This was the best Potter episode because it stayed the closest to the written story. It gave enough details that most audiences could follow the story, not having read the books. Don't think they could have followed it if they had not at least seen the movies. I was a little startled and disappointed that it did not start with Dumbledore's funeral; that was a linkup opportunity missed and a chance for the audience to link the wand to the burial tomb as well as a review of the main characters in the film. Great movie, our crew of five will probably go again to pick up things we missed the first time through.

I went to the see this movie as a huge huge fan of the HarryPotter books. I have read them several times, i do know what they are aout and the deep meaning they each hold. I went to the midnight opening showing & waiting about 5 hours in the theater. I thought it was actualy a fun experience. I thought the movie was very good seeing as though there isnt much action in the start of the book anyway. I feel like they could have spent more time in the start of the movie instead of quicking skating past things like Mad Eyes death or there stay at Grimmauld Place. I like how they made Dobby's death as emotional as it should have been, and it left you will a good cliffhanger. I wish however that i did not have to wait until May, or whenever it is to see 'Part 2' , but hey: Life is not fair.

I knew that this movie wouldn't remain extremely true to the book, but it was as good as I expected it to be. It might be difficult to follow if you haven't read the books or know the basis of this film. There's a lot of information that is assumed the audience knows. It also ended at a nice spot. I can't wait for the next (and last) installment.

This movie surpassed my expectations! It was both exciting and scary. It was much scarier than the past harry Potter movies, yet the scariest moments make the movie even more worth seeing. I never wanted it to end!

best of the latter half of the series! Helps that the book was split into two movies and some of the most awesome scenes in the book were not cut short.
Personally, it was exciting to finally see the Malfoy Manor and the Lovegood's quirky home materialized :)

The movie was 2hrs and 30min. and you felt like you were only there for 1hour.
I have read all the books twice and seen all the movies several times , this by far was the best yet. You have to see this if your a J.K. Rowling fan!

My son and I both agree, this movie kept to the book the best out of all the films. I know some think they're trying to get more money from us by splitting the book into 2 movies, but I am telling you- it is the BEST way to finish telling this tale. Great spot for how the movie leaves you. Fabulous make up jobs on the worn looking death eaters and the aging for the Hero trio. Wish I had the time and mula to see in on the big screen again!

This was the best Harry Potter installment since the director change. It actually stayed true to the plot of the book and included some specific details as well. Of course, not everything was perfectly related, but it was as close as it could get. And, it would have been a great movie regardless of the book series. Even if you knew nothing about the books, you could probably still follow the story pretty easily. I would recommend this to HP fanatics and and movie-goer interested in magic or fantasy stories. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Out of all the Harry Potter movies, this one is the closest to the book yet. There are many more lines taken directly from the book than the other movies. I'm one of the biggest complainers when movies mess up the books, but I also understand that for the sake of time stuff has to be cut out. So, taking that into account, this was done very well.

While yes it is not 100% to the book the movie shines firmly on it's own. Wonderful acting all around a nice blend between the action, drama, and even funny moments. A must see for anyone who is a fan and if I must say one you will want to watch repeatedly.

I wasn't sure what to expect, being a fan of the books, and the movies. It's not always possible but I love when they can stay fairly true to the books, and I was not disappointed!!
I particularly love how they explain things that up until now, people who have only seen the movies and not read the books, could understand where we were.
Very excited to see it again, and can't wait for Pt 2.
