I prefer the books over the movies. However, I only read the last two books once each. Because of this, I didn't remember all the intricate details that were missed, overlooked, or cut. I wanted to be able to just sit back - and watch the movies. That being said, it's exactly what I did. The movie flowed well and didn't feel like 2.5 hours at all. I was ready for the next one right away!

Pretty good movie, better then all the Harry Potters put together times 10. Haha. Always kept you on the edge of your seat, nothing was predictable. It ended in a great place. =]

The movie followed the book extremely well! It was jam packed and the action never stopped. The people I saw it with who had not read the book weren't confused at all! The movie went by really quickly and I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this movie to anyone, even people who haven't seen the previous movies. A complete success!

This movie was absolutely AMAZING, there was so much action, emotion AND humor. 2.5 hours??? felt more like a half hour to mee. time went by wayy too fastt. I cannot wait for part 2!!! =)

An excellant movie! The major story lines were successfully told in grand style. And in the proper order! And the ending was done exceedingly well. I fully expected to have a huge cliffhanger with Harry and friends in trouble or captured. But the ending of Part 1 was handled much better than a cliffhanger. Lost complete track of time. Excellant!!!

This movie was really good. Of course there are several differences from the book; however, the majority of the differences aren't major. For those that didn't read the book know that there are a lot of scenes where they are walking/sitting/talking it may seem boring but know it's all necessary for Part 2 (plus that's how J.K wrote it). Overall I'd recommend this movie.

Though some may find it a bit wordy at times in the mid part, the dialogue is necessary to set the town for the growth of the characters. They do a good job setting you up for the second part and are very true, overall to the book. I found it an excellent movie, very reasonably paced with just enough action thrown in to keep you deeply involved.

The movie was good! Very entertaining. I liked it a lot but I havent read the books in a few years so I dont remember many details. Im afraid if I had just read the book I would have been disappointed. All in all it was a great movie and I'd like to see it again.

This was by far my favorite adaptation from the books! With POA a very close second.
I think they did a great job on part one and got thru alot of material. This film also seemed to have alot less of the director made up scenes than all the others. It was very true to the book.

As a loyal fan to the Harry Potter series i am very satisfied with the way it turned out........I have read the books as well as seen the movies and i feel that the directors really did an exellent job with bringing as much of the book as possible to life in the movie........Cant wait till the next half comes out........:D

Great Movie - Ron, Harry, & Hermonie have really grown into great actors! As all the charactors. I loved the way this movie didn't stray from the book and included most of the important details. My oldest son has reread all the books many times, and my youngest & I have read the story and listen on CD. Will purchase the movie when it comes out on DVD: - )

This movie is so good it doesn't really need to have a very long section devoted to talking about it. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows was an exceptional movie and will definitely give closure to one of the best movie series ever made. I can't wait to see the continuation with part 2 later this year.

I have seen all the Harry Potter movies with my grandson (13) and we both loved them. This one is no exception. I was curious going in as to how far they would go before ending part one. They couldn't have picked a better place. Now all we have to do is wait for Part 2!!!

Honestly, my favorite HP movie so far. It was so accurate to the books. I heard some people say it was kind of slow, but I didn't feel this way at all and neither did my boyfriend, who hasn't read the books.

From the opening sequence to the rolling of the credits, this film was scary, exciting, compelling, and cinematically beautiful. Harry, Hermione, Ron and the rest of the characters did not disappoint! I can hardly wait for Part II. My 16 year old grandson gave it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best. We will go see it again this coming weekend at an IMAX to compare the two theater experiences.
