Loved the movie. I've seen the Broadway show twice and loved it - wasn't sure how it would translate into a movie but they did a wonderful job and I would recommend to to anyone who wants to have a relaxing , fun time. ABBA's music is great. I thought Meryl Streep was awesome in the part of Donna. She is an amazing actress. Go see it - have fun.

It's always amazing to see how Hollywood brings the stage to the screen. I was very pleased with the end result. Although I did take my 13 y/o and her friend, some of it was maybe a bit mature and provocative for them; they had not seen the stage play. As for my 18 y/o niece she was anamored with the show and inuendos and she has not seen the stage production either. However, we all know and love the Abba music and walked away singing and dancing and happy!

This is the worst movie I've seen since August Rush, which was also terrible. The special effects were bad, the singing worse, and the editing terrible. The only redeeming quality of this movie is Amanda Seyfried's performance.

This movie was awesome. Went twice in one week to see it. This movie leaves you feeling wonderful inside. Went on Sunday with my girlfriend and her daighter, then took both of my son's girlfriends to see it on Thursday. Will buy the DVD when it comes on. A must see!

I would see this movie again and again! I have never seen Meryl Streep in this kind of part and she was great! I love how she is not afraid to be filmed without makeup, but remains looking great. And her singing - WOW!Christine Baranski is phenomenal, as usual.

The movie fills in gaps the play missed. Meryl Streep is outstanding as "Donna." Her rendition of "The Winner Takes it All" is magnificent! She, along with all the female cast, are wonderful in their roles, especially in their burlesque entertainment routines; as are the principal male actors led by Pierce Brosnan, although his voice (or dub in) makes for some awkward listening. Once past the rather promiscuous nature of the central character (Donna as "Mia"), the story line plays out exceptionally well.

I went to this movie with some trepidation because of the lukewarm review by the local paper. I was actualy very pleasantly surprise by what I saw. The music is fantastics. Nothing can beat the nice tunes by ABBA. The action is fast pace, the acting was pretty good. I always like Meryl Streep and was pleasantly surprise that she can sing too. The other actors and actresses did very well. All in all, I would rate this movie with a five stars. My wife who seldoms goes to the movie saw it twice which is a testament to the quality of this great work.

I could not believe how much I enjoyed this! Meryl Streep can definitely sing and I adored Sophie, the stags and hens and all of the cast. Pierce's singing made me laugh, but he's so gorgeous, who cares? My 91-year-old mother-in-law came with me to see it and really enjoyed it too. I wanted to be Meryl! The supporting cast was great too, and yes, I saw the Broadway show which Ioved too. Not sure how the guys might feel. Mine definitely wasn't interested. But I can't wait to see it again with my daughter!

Girl friend and I left the husbands at home and went to see this film. We haven't had such a good time at a movie since Ya Ya Sisters. We sang the songs, laughed til in tears a few times and stayed to watch the out takes that were hilarious! Meryl Streep deserves an oscar for this one for sure! Who would have ever thought she could sing so beautifully. Brosnan played a great part and his singing was not so great, but pulled it off. Colin Firth as a gay guy cracked us up so much we were in tears. I think the world has another new pretty face that can act in the girl that played Sophie. She was awesome as well. Hell, the whole cast was awesome, right down to Donna's (Streep) friends. They too were hilarious, especially the little short one that ended up with Bill. Great movie, great cast and lots of great music from Abba. Can't wait to see it again and to come out on DVD.

After reading all the "professional" critics review of "Mamma Mia!" we almost passed on seeing it on the big screen (we were going to wait for the video) but decided to take my 12-year old and mother. Yes, Meryl Streep is too old for the part, but she is delightful and Pierce Brosnan is no singer, but you don't care. The story is charming. You won't be dancing in the aisles like you do at the stage production, but it's a fun movie with feel good songs and you'll leave feeling your time was well spent.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and will probably watch it again. I thought the beginning was longer than necessary with everyone arriving. I also didn't like the way they had the guys arriving and being stuck in the room they were in. It turned me off a bit. I wish they would have really stayed more to the play. But the songs were great (even if certain actors are not the best singers...lol). I was waiting for the "dance in the aisles feeling" but it never really came. It was cute and funny and we enjoyed it but I think I need to go see the play again to re-gain the "dancing queen" feeling...

I loved it!!! Everyone in this movie sang wonderful together! I was very pleased to get to see this movie in the theatres! I am defiently planning on getting the soundtrack version of the music to this movie! I possibly might get this movie on DVD when it comes out, to add it to my collection of movies so I can watch again and again whenever I want to! This movie defiantly desearves an oscar or even more than one!!!!

This is exactly what a movie should be, bright, colorful, a perfect escape mechanism for anyone who would like to feel great when you leave the theater. The story line is predictable, but the path to get to it, is enjoyable and entrancing. The theater was packed, and completely silent throughout the entire movie. A great date movie or just to enjoy for an hour and 48 minute slip into music, dance and joy!

I have seen Mamma Mia on stage and now I have seen Mamma Mia 3 times in the theater. Although the movie does not have all of the songs from the stage play, the music, singing, dancing and scenery was enough to carry the film. I could not believe Meryl Streep could sing that well. Everyone did a fantastic job. Of course the movie version would have a different spin from the play, it was the best $12.00 I have spent in a long time. Thank God something came out in the movies that made you feel good. There is so much junk in the movies now a days, it was good to actually go to the movies and feel better after leaving. Mamma Mia also gave me the same "good feeling" as watching the musical "Grease". Go see it again and again. You will not be disappointed.

I saw Mamma Mia last night and was totally blown away! I had actually gone to see the live musical twice before and had hoped the movie would be just as awesome and I was NOT disappointed!!!
