This was a total waste of two hours! I did not enjoy seeing middle age people acting like high school teenagers. I did not enjoy dialogue full of sexual innuendos. This could have been such a sweet story about a young girl looking for her father and a mothers' recaptured romance. I normally love Meryl Streep but I was really turned off of her on this movie. Where has classic acting gone where there was some imagination left for the viewer! I can't imagine Audrey Hepburn in this kind of movie!!

This movie was OK ... I'm a fan of musicals, and definitely a big fan of ABBA ... but Pierce B., I mean.. they could have found someone better to cast in that role ... the guy .. plain and simple CANNOT SING! Looks good without a shirt ... YES, but cannot sing a note! There are a lot of funny scenes in this movie, and of course we already knew that Meryl Streep could act, but she can actually sing too ... wow.

This is a terrific way to spend 2 hours - who knew Meryl Streep could sing. Pierce puts 007 behind him and belts out a few notes - showing off not only his ability to sing, but also some well earned grey hairs. I truly enjoyed all the characters and cannot wait for the video to come out.

I was quite certain that my husband was not going to enjoy this movie, but even HE was impressed by the choreography and how well the movie seemed to flow. The singing, dancing, character involvement, was all outstanding! They really seemed to have 'fun' while making this movie, and it shows! I highly recommend!

When i got to the ticket counter, the ticket guy said "why are you watching mamma mia?" in a RUDE way. Its because im a boy. We were bored and had nothing to do and no other good movies were out, so we decided "Hey, why not see Mamma Mia?" When I sat down, i was thinking "Uh oh, I hope it's not one of those girly girl movies. To my astonishment, this movie was GREAT!!! AWESOME SONGS and i never knew Meryl Streep could sing! I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because some parts were boring. Like in the beginning, it was so terrible I wanted to just leave, but my friend made me stay and it got MUCH BETTER!! The music is great, the cast is wonderful, I enjoyed the whole movie. You really don't have to remember these songs when they were new, in the content of the story they arrive when they should and help tell the story. I tapped my feet, I clapped, I laughed, I did not however try and sing along I just enjoyed. I know this will be one of those movies that I will need to keep in my DVD collection.

I am not a big movie goer, I usually wait for things to come out on PPV but I love ABBA music so I went to see it yesterday. I with many other audience members sang our way thru the movie. It was funny, witty, sad in a couple places. This movie had me hysterical with laughter and sad with tears. I give this movie 2 thumbs up and would recommend it to anyone. I brought my 10 year old granddaughter to see it and she enjoyed it too. Of course since the movie previews on TV featured the "Mama Mia" song she and I have been bonding over ABBA, so it is a heartwarming movie and the music helps bridge the generation gap!!!

Fun Movie!! What a great escape for a couple of hours. The story is a bit contrived and everything leads to an ABBA song, but a thoroughly enjoyable movie. The setting is definately the star!! Almost makes up for Pierce Brosnan's scary singing... Go see it. Don't wait for video, this movie deserves the bid screen.

I haven't seen the stage show; I always thought "how could you possibly construct an entire show just around ABBA songs?" Not that I have a problem with the music, I just didn't get it. I have to say, there were many situations or conversations seemed very contrived so they could fit a particular song, but it's a cute story, the setting was beautiful, and even though the performers were to a large degree better than their material, this movie had a great cast.

The movie is different from the Broadway musical; however, it's absolutely delightful! I can't think of a better way to "escape" for two hours, than to see this fun film. I smiled the entire way through this movie, except when I cried (sentimentality). It is a wonderful movie, even as good as the stage version, which I saw for the first time this year. My 13 year old daughter can't get enough of it (we've seen it 3 times!) and can't get enough of the music. ABBA was never my favorite group (yes, they are from my era), but everytime I hear one of their songs, I see the movie setting in my mind. I highly recommend this entertaining movie to young teens and above.

At first glance, I wasn't sure if this movie was for me. the concept, from the comercials, didn't seem too strong and it seemed way to happpy for me. One day, however, one of my good friends insisted that I go see it with him and I admit that I was wrong. The movie was excellent and i could really relate to the characters. It was a lot of fun but still carried some dept and the soundtrack and casting was superb. Overall I believe this has become one of my favorite musicals of all time. I've already seen it twice thus far and plan to buy it!

Don't be fooled by the GNO nature of this movie. Its so funny some guys are going to love it. I was a Mama Mia neophyte I had never seen the play and until a few short weeks ago I thought the whole thing was just a gig about ABBA I had no idea there was another storyline. This movie was wonderful. Funny hardly discribes it. Meryl Streep was an eye opener. Who knew she could be so kooky and fun. Okay so Pierce Brosnan can't sing he is just so damn good looking. He was still appropriately the heartthrob. The DYNAMO's ! those gals are a hoot. The cinematography was great Makes you want to go to Greece. I'm sure this is one I'll see again and again. Maybe some Hollywood types will start making more movies from the Broadway hits.

I went to see it with my husband, my teenagers, my Mom and a couple of friends on opening night. We were all in AWE, including my husband! It was wonderful! I knew Meryl Streep had sung in movies before but I had no idea about the others. Pierce Brosnan is not much of a singer, but he pulls it off nevertheless. The scenery is gorgeous. This movie was excellent. If you don't leave this one in a GREAT mood, then you need some PROZAC!! LOL The music, the dancing , the acting...awesome. My husband and I went to see it the day after it came out. Then last weekend we bought the CD and after hearing the music, needed to go see it again. Yesterday he said, "we should go se Mama Mia again". Sophie, Donna, Tanya and Rose.... adorable and the three dads, sweet as can be!!! NOW GO SEE IT!!!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

OK.. lets add it up!! I have always loved ABBA music.. Saw the movie first week it opened with my sister. Went 2 days later with a close friend and went for the THIRD TIME last night by myself!!! And, I have pre-ordered the DVD as soon as it becomes available. I would pay almost anything if an exercise/dance studio would have a class in the dance movements seen throughout the film.. we would all lose weight, firm up and have a ball doing it! Yep, I think the movie is excellent!!

Wow. What a great movie. The acting was great and the music and singing had me dancing in my seat. It had tender moments that brought tears and hillarious moments that made you laugh so hard it brought tears. Loved every minute of it. Saw it twice and will probably see it again.
