Very entertaining, but important to remember that this is a musical and the actors you are seeing in this movie are not usually seen in this format. Funny, beautiful scenery, and Julie Waters is a wonderful new actress and the star of the show! Hard to watch Pierce and Colin sing, we kept laughing when Pierce would sing, completely different than his sex symbol image we are accustomed to, but they all did a great job and there was good chemistry between the characters.

It is a must see. Saw it the day it opened and can't wait to see it again and get the dvd and i don't usually buy dvds. It is so much fun and the audience applauded it at the end and was clapping along with some of the music during the movie . Streep is absolutely fabulous and made my 60 + year old bones feel young again. Greece is beautiful and reminded me of my trip there to the islands. If you feel down or out go see the movie .You will walk out of the theater with a big smile on your face .Brosnan can't sing but who cares. He gives it the old school try . Dancing, singing ,music ,costuming,and the proverbial Greek Chorus all wonderful .Run don't walk to see this feel good movie

I saw a preview a few weeks ago and wasn’t to sure. It was a smaller screen and the sound wasn’t great. Then when it opened I saw it at the Ziegfeld in NYC, a big theater with great sound system. I sat in the middle and just relaxed and enjoyed the ride. It was great. The entire cast is good, even though Pierce looked like he was in pain singing and I was in pain listening to him, they all looked like they were having a ball making the movie. Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. A wonderful audio and visual ride.

Hated it. I saw the Broadway show 4 times. Meryl Streep was too old. The character was supposed to be around 42 or so...not 55 or however old she is. Pierce Brosnan can't sing at all. None of them could sing but he was the worst. They cut so many songs. I absolutely hated it.

My daughter and I had seen the play last year and fell in love. Could not wait for the movie and we were not disappointed. The packed theater really got caught up in the songs and characters and there was actually applause at the end, plus singing along and dancing! Fun, fun movie to see again and again.

A friend and I went and LOVED it. We had so much fun! The entire audience clapped and cheered throughout the movie. We liked it well enough that we are organizing and Mamma Mia party (we'll attend with lots of friends next week). Is there any role that Meryl Streep can't play? She was phenominal and Amanda Seyfried was adorable. Of coure, Pierce Brosnan was gorgeous and he can carry a tune, but his voice was too weak to sing duets with Meryl. He and Colin Firth should have traded roles; Colin's clear strong voice was a welcome surprise and he is equally gorgeous.

Being in musical theater myself and having seen the stage version of MAMMA MIA I went into this film with very low expectations. I felt the stage version was contrived, pushed and over the top with a very silly story line. I thought this film was fabulous. I feel every musical theater student should be required to see it as a study in how an actor finds the truth in the lyric, no matter how frivolous the content. Meryl Streep comes through again proving there isn't a venue where the fine actor does not prevail.

I loved Mama Mia on Broadway, but for whatever reason was not all that excited about it coming to the big screen. Boy, was I wrong!! If you don't find yourself singing along or tapping your toes, you really need to check your pulse! Meryl Streep is fabulous! The whole movie was cast extremely well. There were times when the movie was pure magic and others when it was excitingly fun! This one is a movie you'll have to own and pull out when you need a pick me up! Kudos!

This movie was a delight from the opening "I have a dream..." to the ending credits and then some. I want to see it again and again. It made me laugh and it made me cry. The acting, singing, dancing, filming, locale, music, and mood of this movie are all alluring and beyond. If Meryl Streep doesn't win an Oscar for this role then something is seriously wrong with the voters. She was incredible and an inspiration to all women of all ages everywhere. And her voice! It made me weep. I cannot get over how amazing she is! The best part, I could absolutely FEEL how much fun that cast and crew were having. It was the best movie I have seen since the Sound of Music. What a boon for the Greek tourism industry, as I'm sure this film will inspire many to take off to that gorgeous setting. See it! Especially moms and daughters--but men will like it too!

The story is cute and the setting is gorgeous, makes you want to go to Greece. The movie doesn't do the play justice. If you haven't seen it on Broadway, don't let the movie stop you as you will be blown away by the play. As much as I love Merryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, they have no business singing such strong parts. I would wait until it comes on HBO.

What a great movie! It made you sing, dance, cry and laugh! I did not want the Dancing Queen scene to end--how great! It was also a great message to show people that 50+ year olds can still be sexy, funny and great looking. This is something that Hollywood doesn't portray often.

As a dancer, I rate the movie musical on how badly I want to dance along with the visual experience. This was certainly a 10. The music is rocking, the moves are grooving, and I would have rather danced along in this fantastic display of choreography that can be simple, but more fun than a complex show. Well worth seeing more than once.

Couldn't have chosen a more fun movie for the first cinema outing in a couple of years! Being an ABBA fan didn't hurt. The story line wasn't all that strong but I knew that...but a great vehicle for the score. I half-hoped the theatre audience would be "Rocky Horror" wannabe's...dancing/singing in the aisles! As it is, I could only lip-synch throughout but...aha...during the final credits/curtain call three or four strangers and I fancy-stepped our way to the exit. The movie was a BLAST...just wonderful fun; no nudity, no violence, no gratuitous use of questionable language. I can't wait until the DVD comes out, now.

Go see it! Very much a great feel good movie! All the stars were great! The Movie flowed well and was pure enjoyment!

Meryl Steep has energized her entire cast to give the very best possible performances individually and collectively. This movie is a credit to the profession, and demostrates why, even with superior theatre, we still need movies, movies, movies! I will return to see it again...and I am not usually a fan of whimsical musicals...give me the Meryl of Sophie's Choice and Bridges of Madison County...but this time she's over the top! And as I said...she takes everyone else with her!

I absolutely LOVED this movie!!! Pierce Brosnan cant really sing but he was so perfect as Sam. Meryl Streep was awesome!!! I cannot wait for the DVD so I can experience it any time I want to!!!

Outrageous!!!!the most joyful movie i have ever seen, Meryl is such a gift in all of her roles but her complete freedom of spirit and talent was just awesome. Everyone else in the movie was just perfect and the whole was so joyfully beautiful, it brought tears to your eyes. Gram
