Wonderful fun. Not deep, not meaningful, and doesn't solve the problems of the universe, but for 1 hour 48 minutes, you won't care. The only moments you suddenly remember you are in a movie theater watching a movie is when Brosnan attempts to sing. Pretty painful watching him try SO hard. But he's a good actor and VERY decorative and he's quite believable as Sam. Some very funny twists to the story. Ultimately, it's the revenge of the middle-aged, as the young-uns aren't nearly as interesting as those over 40. Streep is, of course, wonderful.

We saw this marvelous movie at the first showing on opening day. We were the first two people in the theater and got great seats. I NEVER wake up that early for a movie. The movie, Mamma Mia, was uplifting, funny, and better than the play (Which I've seen 3 times), I will see this movie many more times with different friends. I think it should be turned into a "cult" movie like Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was a wonderful experience. The actors and actresses did a fantastic job and I would like to thank and congratulate each of them for such an outstanding movie. I'll definitely see this movie again!!!

Momma Mia was terrific! The scenes of Greece were fantastic and the music was Rockin'! Just saw the play two weeks ago and loved the movie adaptation just as much. The plot was simple but appropriate and of course, as in any musical unatural for the actors to burst into song but it works! The actors were all perfectly suited to their parts. The singing was all you could ask for--we are not expecting operatic quality afterall for ABBA songs. The audience was involved and I was dancing and singing in my seat!

saw the play - it was great - saw the movie what a disappointment - Poor casting re Meryl and Pierce - totally out of character - terrible choreography especially as it related to the Greek villagers - two group scenes were actually stupid - is that the best they could find in scenic beauty of Greece! Am Greek and know there is a great deal of beauty that was never captured - music is fabulous and is what carries the movie - some funny spots - last 15 minutes were the best part of the movie. The Greek people are great, the Greek Islands scenery is dazzling. I have never seen a prettier bride. The singing and the dancing are FUN, FUN, FUN! I laughed, I cried, I SANG!!! Be prepared for almost nonstop ABBA songs. But be warned: the rating is "PG-13 for some s*x-related comments". They forgot to add bare buttoxcks and a risque scenes like a cro*tch grabbing dance and other suggestive scenes. I would not think this is appropriate for children. I would have rated it "R" .

. . . . then you will like this movie. Meryl Streep was awesome in this movie. My friends abused me for seeing a chick flick but I saw the play twice and love ABBA's music so I had to see this movie. The entire show was pleasent. I loved how they included the Ensemble. I must say having it shot in greece was an added bonus. The bottom line is it was funny, and great. I love the story of Mamma Mia and though it does not have the livelieness of the play (like people dancing in the aisles) it is just as fun. I highly reccomend seeing this movie for a fun night out. You won't regret it :)

LOVED this movie. I'm going to go see it again and will get it as soon as it becomes available on DVD. This is the "feel good" kind of movie that we need to see every once in a while!!

My husband and I have seen it in Vegas as well as here when it came to Fresno and we enjoyed it both times. I loved the movie as well and think it followed the live play version very well. Meryl Streep did an excellent job as did everyone. The music is just wonderful, just think what group has been disbanded for so long and still there music goes on; not only in CD's or on the radio but in shows. I would invite all to go see this wonderful movie.

Is one of a kind, going to the movies to see something like this is worth it.There is no blood or killings or tourture, simply fun, great music and acting, bring back good memories from old good times in the 80"s. Is all about love and understanding, Meryl was great, she moves and jumps like a teen,excellent performance.Going to the movies should be all about having a good and up bit time , in my opinion this movie delivers a WOW.

This movie is about what I expected. I went for the music: always an ABBA fan. Meryl sang better than I had expected, given the few things I had read. Pierce is wonderful to look at, and is definitely not meant for musicals. I wouldn't let this stop me from seeing the musical. When making a recommendation for the movie, I'd add this caveat. I'm not particularly fond of musicals to begin with, but thought this one would be fun. It was for me and for my girlfriend. The theater was packed, and my sense is that the audience enjoyed the film...again I think the wonderful music and how it tied into the storyline helped with this. Setting is wonderful; an extra treat. Have there been better musicals:? absolutely. But there have been many that are much worse. Fun, light hearted entertainment. Go in expecting to have a good time and I think you will. If you have high standards for vocalist talent, then you might be very disapointed.
