Wonderful fun. Not deep, not meaningful, and doesn't solve the problems of the universe, but for 1 hour 48 minutes, you won't care.
The only moments you suddenly remember you are in a movie theater watching a movie is when Brosnan attempts to sing. Pretty painful watching him try SO hard. But he's a good actor and VERY decorative and he's quite believable as Sam.
Some very funny twists to the story.
Ultimately, it's the revenge of the middle-aged, as the young-uns aren't nearly as interesting as those over 40.
Streep is, of course, wonderful.
