I enjoyed watching the movie and doing so in a theater. Ford does rather well in the role. My only concerns were that it started over the top and then had to attempt to beat itself. I also thought that the romance subplot was a little flat. Still, it was worth going to see.

This was a good update of the Indy franchise. It's obvious that Indy has lost a step physically, which what character that has had nearly a 20 year break wouldn't, but he seemed to gain a step intellectually and his problem solving. I was concerned that this movie would be similar to Live free or Die Hard where the hero became nearly invincible, but that was true maybe once or twice. The story is very much a story that reflects our modern day culture. What people have come to believe based upon theories about paintings and drawings made by ancient cultures and how they became civilized. I am disappointed with the special effects (mainly just the fact that they used CGI). Personally, I truly would have rather had them go back to the 80's special effects that in my mind helped make the old movies. It's obviously not as good as Raiders or Last Crusade, but I would put it between Last Crusade and Temple of Doom.

Good movie but was along the same story line as National Treasure 2. Ending reminded me of Journey to the center of the earth, Pat Boone one. Blew out the volcano at the end. Aliens? Back to star wars. Would like to see Indy 5 made with better plot same cast.

Indy's back... and i am grateful, i had a great time. without giving too much away because i'm sure the word will be out by the next day....aliens. i would of loved if they stayed with the reliegous or mystical occult but i think i see where they were going with this and they pulled it off well. it has a different feel than the other three but if you look at the scheme of things they are showing a new age, now we are in the Fifties so the picture is a little more slick and now were dealing things of the time like aliens, monster and radiation and the torch you might say being passed on.....can't go into too much detail...just go watch it and enjoy and remember what they say about high expectations, it's still a great movie that i will see time and again and refer to my friends

im a newcomer to the series, having just seen them a few weeks ago, and i LOVED this movie! i felt like it had everything the other movies had, the action, the fairly historically accurate legend, marion, the evil, greedy antagonist, and a still hot protagonist. it referenced the other movies just a little and poked fun at how old indy has gotten since his other adventures. not only did this newcomer love it, but my father, who grew up watching indiana jones as a little boy, absolutely loved it as well. it was everything he remembered as a child and more. not as good as raiders, but it's still really good. most sequels, i've found, really deviate from the original, are not nearly as good, and dont have nearly the amount of magic of the original, (coughdisney) but this movie really did extraordinarily exceed my expectations!

While it's not the best Indiana Jones movie, it still holds some of the classic charm from the old films. Full of action, adventure and a bit of mythology mixed with the supernatural, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a very enjoyable film and well worth it. While there is some fan-service throughout the film, it doesn't detract too much from the main storyline and the film keeps a pretty good pace all throughout. All in all, it's a movie that no Indiana Jones fan should miss seeing on the big screen.

For an adventure movie it's good. For an Indiana Jones movie, it's disappointing. Technically, the film doesn't match the previous 3 in terms of tone, effects work or visual style. Whereas the first three were shot in actual exotic locations around the world, this film looked like it was shot almost entirely in soundstages (even exterior scenes). While the effects and stunts were all done with real props and real stuntmen in the original 3 (and made the action appear real), this film relied heavy on greenscreens and CGI (poorly done CGI to boot. ILM had their C team on some shots it seems). There were also several unbelievable action set pieces that alter the physics of this Indy universe. Where Indy was once a vulnerable man who could feel great pain, we now have an invulnerable superhero who can fly hundreds of yards through a nuclear blast (inside a fridge), who can fly off waterfalls the size of Niagra, and who can not be shot by bullets. It was a bit much, but i still loved it.

This movie was more than I expected. I was worried because normally when I am really pumped to go see a movie I am disappointed. Not the case here. I don't want to spoil it for anybody that hasn't seen it, so I will leave it like this, deffinately different source of power for the crystal skulls than in the other Indiana Jones movies. But it was action packed, very entertaining, and Indy still has his funny little witty one liners throughout the film. (espcially the ones about his age)The ending was a little over the top, but still a great ending. It wasn't as good as the Last Crusade, but deffinately better than Temple of Doom. A must see for any Indian Jones fan. This film has all the Jones classic moments action, the funny one liners, and him always losing his hat yet to regain it. By the way that must be one heck of a hat to survive saving the world multiple times. Highly recommend checking it out. This was a great way to end the Jones legacy.

If you are expecting a movie exactly like the first three you will be disappointed. If you go expecting an entertaining Indiana movie that is going to acknowlege the passage of time and therefore uses a storyline that would have been prudent for 1957 (when the movie is set) than you should be thrilled Indiana is back on the big screen.
Harrison Ford has aged. But he is still doing all his own stunts. His voice has dropped another half octave but he's still the action hero we know and love. And we all should know...."it's not the years, it's the mileage"
Speakers of Raiders, the fabulous Karen Allen is back and the reparte between Marion and Indy is as inspired and lovely as usual. The Shia LaBouef character also rolls with the punches, fights with the best of them, and does pretty well as Indy's new sidekick. Cate Blanchett may have an odd accent but she is a fantastic villian. I hardly recognized her until I remembered she was playing the villian. She's that good. The supporting cast is all strong.
Some people complained after walking out of the theatre the story was implausible but if you are going to an Indiana Jones movie for real life please go see something else. Obviously you didn't pay attention to the first three movies-undead spirits, Sankara Stones, etc etc. There are tons of implausibilities throughout the series. That's part of the fun.
The beginning is a little slow but once you see that famous Fedora and Indy appears it picks up pretty darn fast. There is a little more exposition in general, a little more fact finding before jumping into the action but don't worry-there are plenty of awesome action sequences. There are a few plot bits that are given away a little early in the movie before they are realized through dialogue. But the actors play them so well that it really doesn't matter.
I thought it was at least as good as Temple of Doom if not better. This is your last chance to see an original Indiana Jones movie in theatres. You want to see it. It's epic. Love it or Hate it in the end.

This movie was amazing, for one, Harrison Ford is 63 years old and can STILL move decently fast, two, anyone who didnt like this movie because of the aliens is a fool, they dont show up untill the end, and besides most of the movie relates to actual legends, granted it doesnt quite do the original 3 movies much justice, its still amazing, you'd have to be a moron not to see it just because someone else said it was bad, go see it and decide for yourself

First of all, let me say that I'm a HUGH Harrison Ford fan. This movie was action from the opening scenes-----I thought it was great, another couple and my husband and I went to the special 12:01am showing of the movie at our local theater----we were probably the oldest folks there---but had a ball. I was skeptical going in, but I could not believe it was as bad as ti was. Heartless, unoriginal, ridiculius in a bad way. My friend and I were in awe after the movie. We could not believe Ford was that bad. The script was that bad. Every action scene was a rehash of a classic one or was just so aburd it made it no fun. Not even Indy can survive a nuclear bomb....This movie made me so sad.

The movie was supposed to be set in the 50's, not made in the 50's. . The miniatures were done much better in the Japanese movies of the 50's. Practically the entire movie took place on a badly designed set. just like movies of the 50's. Totally different than the first two with all the outside scenes. Why do they make the star a baffoon when he comes back older? He got better later, but the damage was done. Cliche after cliche, and the most cliche of all 1950's ending. How could Spielberg and Lucas bring in such an incredibly low-budget looking movie?

The movie was a good movie. unfortunally people were expecting a certain type of movie and this movie didnt quite follow the indian jones feel that the other three have. it seemed a bit rushed. Indy also didnt have a lot to do in the figuring out of the temple ad such and i wish they did a bit more. but i loved the movie and was glad it was made! so go see it at least once!

I was so disappointed after I was done watching this at TWO AM. It totally dilutes the franchise and does no justice to the older classics. The action is non-stop, but ridiculously stupid and unbelievable. Apparently Mutt has control over monkeys?

In true Lucus fashion the movie was good but too much cg. I felt that the mate screens look a little fake and all the cg was noticeable. With that said, i liked it. It you like the classic indi movies you ll like this one too. It captures the action and adventure that were are all expecting pulse the hokie comedy that we love.

Overall, I feel that Spielberg and Lucas did a fine job in the culmination of the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. The action sequences were exactly what one would expect from this genre (I was especially impressed with the car-chase sequence). I also appreciated the simple plugs, such as showing the ark of the covenant and Harrison Ford stating "I've got a bad feeling about this". I did, however, think that the climactic event after placing the crystal skull was almost too hokey, even for a sci-fi/action film like this one. I felt that this action veered away from what made "Indiana Jones" so great-the near believability. Aside from that quirk, the film was great! Harrison Ford, Shia Labeouf, Karen Allen, and of course Kate Blanchett pulled off remarkable performances. Again, a great film and I am curious to see how/if it branches off.

This movie was overall good. It has many good cinematography aspects, although it is still pretty predictable. Due to Harrison Ford's age, the stunts have been toned down as expected. Without spoiling any aspects of the movie, I would just say that I do reccommend that anyone who liked the original films go see this one on the big screen.

They should not have made this movie. It ruined the good name of the Indiana Jones movies. It was cheesy and over the top. I would not suggest paying to see this movie in the theaters, although it might be decent to rent. I haven't talked to anyone that enjoyed it or thought it was worth seeing at the first showing.
