With my favorite actor. Remember the Indiana Jones movies are done in the 1930's serial styles... when good was good and bad was bad... though this one taking place during the McCarthy era was hard to deal with.
I love the little bits of history thrown in... would love to read some of that backstory. Colonel Jones!!!
I think they should have developed the characters a little more, seeing as we will see more of Indy, Mutt and Marion.
Don't go expecting lots of plot, go to have a good time.

I figured out the alien thing as soon as I saw they were headed for area 51 at the very beginning. The kid as his son: figured out as soon as he said his mother was kidnapped. Still, I thought it was a fun movie and the special effects were excellent. I hate to admit this but I had some trouble with Indy and Mariam (?) being so old. Gosh almighty I hope I can kick butt when I'm that age.

The movie keeps up with the fantasy-fact world that is Indiana Jones. I don't know why people insist on wanting to make it something either real or way out there. Have you forgotten the first 3??? They all have a mix of everything, and if this is going to be the last Indy movie doesn't the guy deserve to know the ultimate question? If there is life out there? The movie had it all, action, surprises, tributes, funny moments, questions to answer, the old flame, and the bad guys along with Indy's luck to keep getting the attention of the villians. I would recomend this movie to all Indiana Jones fans and to the ones that are not would tell them to go see the first 3 movies before watching this one and they would understand why many of the Jones fans feel when we see this 4th movie. With that said if you are not an Indy fan you are not going to get the full experience of the movie and the story.......then again, we can still make a believer out of you!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

For those of us die hard Lucas and Spielberg fans, I gotta say how disappointed I was.
What was good:
Choreography of stunts; stunts
Some of the set dressings/props. From the 50's sets and attire to the tombs/treasure room and temples, great work by all the dressers, prop makers, modelers and costumers.
Shia LeBeouf I was not sure of till this movie. I thought he was surprisingly good.
Controlled special effects were good.
What was not good:
Cate Blanchett fan here... but not here. She overacted.
Harrison Ford seemed at time disinterested or like his heart wasn't into it. Not all scenes but some.
Lack of good use of Ray Winstone. He's better suited as a villain or a larger role.
TOO much action; I'd like to have had a minute or two in the film to calm down (made it harder to appreciate the action).
Didn't like the sci-fi theme part (a different choice of artifact would've been better). OR better use of the theme in a positve "light shedding moment for humanity" would've been good.
PREDICTABLE.
Karen Allen was useless again (I know she said she wasn't, but she was still whiny)
Sadly missing Sean Connery but I see why he stayed away.
Lastly, the audience has grown up in the past 20 years and though we forgive movies for scenes that can't actually be wtthout death ocurring, we can only take sooo much. There were just too many scenes where death would ocur in real life. I can take a couple times but not a couple dozen... it was over the top (refrigerator anyone?).
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have to say it , this movie was so much fun. If you go into the theater with NO expectations, and are only in it for the Indy-style fun and adventure, then you're going to love it without a doubt. Those looking for an intellectual treasure seek need to look elsewhere. Indy movies have always been about the fun - everyone needs to remember that!! It was great seeing Indy in action again, and to see Marion and relive the Raiders days. It was also nice to have Mutt join the cast and to see (HOPEFULLY) where his part might take us all in another movie??? Once again they've left it open for another, and I sure hope they don't wait 19 years to tell the next story!!

Lucas is determined to ruin my childhood. He can't simply do a movie anymore without CGI #1. This movie had CGI prairie dogs for crying out loud!
#2, the dialogue felt JUST like Episode I's dialogue, which is to say FLAT and BORING.
#3 the story.......my god, the story..........
Once they got to the Amazon, it started feeling JUST like National Treasure 2 (also bad), and the ending was pretty much the end of Close Encounters.......
This movie will join the other sequel's that NEVER HAPPENED! Jaws 2-4, Rocky 5.
Heck, Caddyshack 2 was better!

Let start by saying I am a big Harrison Ford fan since the first Start Wars came out. It felt like meeting a close friend after drifting apart for many years. I though the action was great and everyone in the theater including myself laughed and laughed . The movie flowed well and it flew by and to me if the movie ends and it didn't feel like two hours you know it was a good one. I enjoyed the story even though it was obvious from the begining where they were going with the hints towards AREA 51 and Roswell. I hope they don't wait this long to make another one. I am definately going to see it again and can't wait for the DVD to add to my collection.

Sequels are often so problematic and this is no exception. I'm probably one of the few who loved Temple of Doom but found Last Crusade boring, even with Sean Connery. This new IJ is flat-out boring. Best thing in it is Karen Allen, whose return to the series is welcome and fun. Time to hang up the whip and the hat.

In typical style, Indiana Jones goes on a search for friends in trouble which takes him around the globe.
Overall the movie fits the mold with a few updates. Action chases, interesting locations and a less than believable plot. This time Indy is being chased by Commies in the 50's after a mind controlling crystal skull. First we go to the "Area 51" storage hanger after an artifact with unusual properties. We also finally see where the "Arc" has been stored.
Next a motorcycle chase across his college campus. Nice bike but in case you didn't notice, hydraulic disk brakes and a late 40's Harley look alike. Fantasy, disk brakes on a "K" model, come on guys.
Off to South America in search of another fantastic chase through the rain forest. I kept on thinking, what amusement park ride will they come up with to simulate the chase?
Down 3 waterfalls, in a floating jeep and through the jungle again. Now we go into the ancient runes to return the crystal skull. Since the first installment, we have seen Indy and friends battling the evil doers and the forces beyond. The Crystal Skull is no exception. ILM did a great job with effects and there were plenty of stunt doubles being paid overtime on this one. Well worth the time.

To be honest, I need to go back and watch the first three Indy movies because there is absolutely no realism to this movie whatsoever. My recollection was that the first three movies had some basis in reality (although I know a good portion of them were fanciful), but this one came out guns-A-blazing saying, "anything goes in this one!!!" Even the slower moments didn't quite make sense... ex. the KGB are chasing Indy all around the college campus where he teaches, but miss staking out his HOUSE? I know, this is a small detail, but one systematic of the entire film. It was also difficult feeling much for any of the characters because, ultimately, you knew that they were completely invincible. What was slightly annoying was that you could tell that they knew it too.
If you go in just wanting some action and wish for the nostalgic, you will enjoy this film (which I did at times). But, I really feel as if Spielberg and Lucas tried to do too much with this one… and, thus, lost some of the magic of the first.

As would be expected from Harrison Ford and friends, the movie was fun and action-filled.
It continues Spielberg's survey of religious / archaeological myths... the Jewish Ark, Christian Grail, Hindu Stones, and, now, New Age Alien Visitations. If van Dankien was right, this is the way the world would be. If Spielberg was right, we would need Indiana Jones big time!

This was an excellent movie. I loved it. Harrison Ford is older but still shows the fire that he had as Indiana Jones in the previous movies. I felt that it had a great start, middle and finish. Lucas has done it again, and that aint a good thing. We loved the original Indiana Jones movies, and were very excited to go and see this one. My expectations were high, but even if they were low, I would have come out of the theater disappointed. If you liked the Star Wars Episodes 1-3 (think Jar Jar), then you will love this movie. If you like the original Indiana Jones movies or the original Star Wars movies (Ep 4, 5, and maybe 6), you are going to walk out of this theater asking how in the world Lucas can make such master pieces and then put out such crud (crud is the word I used to pass the sensors, but I think you know what I am trying to say) as this movie. First the positives of the movie: The fight scenes are choreographed well. The villains were well cast. I really searched for a third positive, but I cannot come up with it. Needless cutesy crud, an unbelievable storyline, bad acting, and so-so special effects are only the beginning of why this movie is so bad. Like Stalone in the latest Rocky or Rambo movie, Ford should have just quit while he was ahead. If you are a die-hard fan, which if you are then you would have already seen this movie, you will probably ignore the above and see it anyway. If you are on the fence, spend your money on lottery tickets. Watching the numbers being picked is more entertaining, you could get a good ending out of it, and if all else fails, you have wasted the money either way.
Hey Hollywood! You want to know why movie sales are down. It isn't because of pirating; it is because of movies like this and the raised prices. Release some good movies and people might be willing to spend money to see them.

I couldn't wait for the movie to come out to see how this sequel would stack up beside the other Indy movies. Needless to say, I was delighted!!! I think that Harrison Ford was able to step right back into his character, as though he never missed a beat. He was Indy through and through, and it was great to see him in action again as Indiana Jones. I absolutely LOVED seeing Karen Allen return as Marion. That was a wonderful surprise, and I think that Harrison Ford and Karen Allen have terrific chemistry. Shia LeBeouf was a nice addition to the cast, and made perfect sense (especially if there is another sequel to be made). The special effects were terrific. I thought the story line was a bit different by bringing the alien element into it, but still entertaining. I would absolutely recommend this movie to all of my friends, will definitely see it again, and will be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD to round out my Indiana Jones collection.

This was so entertaining and at the same time, kept me on the edge of my seat. Anyone who says things were a little to sci-f, etc., forgot one thing, movies are to entertain. It's not a documentary - it's there to entertain. That is exactl what this movie did - entertain. I loved the references to him being "too old" and references to the old movies - overall - just plain wonderful and very entertaining.

My husband did not enjoy this movie. My daughter and I enjoyed the movie. The story line was nice. Parents and the older generation will be able to relate to this movie easier than the younger ones maybe seeing Indiana for the first time. We felt there could have been a bit more action, but being as how Harrison Ford is older we understand maybe why there wasn't as much as the first three. He even said in the movie "this isn't as easy as it used to be". The KGB folks weren't as 'evil' as the past evil opposites were either. I reccommend die hard fans of Indiana definitely see it, but I don't know if it is up to par with the other three from years ago.
