This most recent Indiana Jones film was little more than scenes loosely sewn together by special effects. And beyond the lacking plot and recycled Indy jokes the sense of mysticism from the original films seemed betrayed to follow people's current interest in sci-fi. Still it had a great cast and director who were ultimately failed by the plot, because of that this film would be good if it were not an Indy film.

This movie was so true to the originals that it could have been made two months after the last movie, and I wouldn't have been surprised! Cheesy dialogue, silly/impossible fight scenes...everything was classic Indy! The only things updated for the 21st century were the visuals.
Like a lot of people, the climax and major plot points leading to it were a little strange to me because it's not something done before in an Indiana Jones movie, but it didn't make the movie any less likeable to me, what with all the classic-Indy love going on in the film. I've seen it twice!

With movies like "Speed Racer" and "Prince Caspian" doing mega box office ( well maybe not Speed ) along comes Indy. This is a good movie that is really on the verge of being a great movie. The directing, acting are right on que. The only weakness, if it really is a weakness, come in the writhing. The writing tends to be a little confusing in a spot or two during the movie. Other than that, I say please don't make us wait as long for the next time we see Indy.

After almost 20 years, nice to see Indiana back on the screen. The story line was good but dragged in places. I like the premise. was good to see old faces and resolution to some of the older stories. Was not the best Indy movie ever but I would recommend it to friends.

Although we enjoyed the film, it seemed very perdictable. The action was great but the digi jungle sceens just didn't make the grade for this calibar of movie. This movie is exactly what it is supposed to be - a fun, throw-back to the 80's-style action movie. The plot has its holes and is mainly there to put Indy into another harrowing situation, but did anyone really expect anything different? The action is great, Harrison Ford brings back Indy 100% for the film, and you'll really just have a lot of fun watching Jones narrowly escape tons of dangerous situations in beautiful and exotic settings.

Sure, it was fun. And of course, as always, you had to suspend and degree of disbelief in the stunts. But overall.. the pace was fast and kept you moving. If you are an Indiana Jones fan.. you will enjoy it.

Sticks to the same general outline as the other Indiana Jones movies, humor, excitement, historical relics and suspension of disbelief. Accents were over exaggerated, and some stunts were over the top, but this should play nicely into a video game. Raiders of the Los Ark was one of my all time favorite movies when I was a kid. In this installment, the action, flow of they story and character development more than live up to the series expectations. The biggest problem was the Crystal Skull and the grand finale (no spoilers). The tension between fact and faith as the movie presents it, is not resolved in a believable way. Other than that it is truley great entertainment!

I've read most of the negative reviews posted here and I believe that those people dont get what a movie is. Movies are a way to escape from the stress and monotony of real life. The scripts in these sorts of movies are not intended to reflect all things possible in reality. They are fantasies. Sure there are some totally unbelievable moments in this film. But I'm pretty sure that they are intended to poke fun at the invincible nature of our hero Indiana Jones. These moments could easily be likened to the premise of the HIT 80's TV show McGyver. In which McGyver can make a hancuff key out of a bar of soap,a gum wrapper, and some taco sauce. Totally impossible but still fun to watch. So, that being said, I thought the movie an excellant chapter in the Indiana Jones story. With all the great sets, moving hidden passageways, snakes,bugs, creepy jungle natives, you name it it's all there. And for 2 hours, I completely forgot about my bills, my job, and all things real. Hooray Indiana!!!

We went as a family with myself, my husband, my 19 year old daughter and my mother. We enjoyed the movie very much. There was something for everyone including lots of typical unreal Indy stunts and action, references to other movies, a bit of 1950's history, and a new cutie in Shia LaBeouf. I loved seeing Karen Allen back. The movie hit all the right notes for fun and laughs.

The Indiana Jones movies are inspired by the old "serials" from the 1940's. They are NOT supposed to be "believable" or "realistic." What they are supposed to be, and, with the exception of "Temple of Doom," what they unfailingly are, is FUN. "Crystal Skull" is a really FUN movie, which is all it's trying to be. The plot is silly, the action is over-the-top ridiculous, the acting is wink-wink-nudge-nudge overdone, and it all adds up to a really good time at the movies. Also, those who dislike the subject matter are obviously not Art Bell/Coast to Coast AM fans, as Spielberg apparently is. Anyone who's tuned in to the supernatural tales of Mr. Bell et. al. will be more than familiar with the story elements, which are, again, NOT realistic, but really FUN. Go to this movie, check your brain at the door, don't expect some kind of CGI animated cyberborg explosion, and have FUN!

A thoroughly enjoyable film. Those of us who cut our adventure film teeth as teenagers on Indiana Jones got to see what he's been up for the past 19 years. Remember that the last film took place in 1938. Since then America entered WWII and fought in Korea. This film let Indiana Jones grow older gracefully by showing that he is same guy we remember just a little older. Plenty of humor, fun, big budget action sequences, bugs, and snakes. Not the best of the series but very close. If you're a fan you can't go wrong with this one.

I went in expecting to cringe repeatedly, but those moments never came. Crystal Skull is a wonderfully entertaining adventure film and a worthy follow-up to the previous films. In my opinion is was closer in tone to Raiders than either Temple of Doom or Last Crusade. If I had to list them from best to worst, I'd have to say Raiders is #1, Crystal Skull #2, Temple of Doom #3, and Last Crusade #4. Raiders was lightning in a bottle and this film doesn't come close to achieving that status, but taken as it is, a fun and exciting Indy movie, it's great.

This was an entertaining return to form. I thought the first 1/3 moved pretty slowly, but once it gets moving it is awesome! It's not quite as detailed as the first three, especially when it comes to Indy solving some riddles. Also, the scope did not seem as great as the first three. Basically, Indy goes to Peru and all of the adventure is there. But, all in all it was fun and satisfying!
