This installment of the series never really takes off. There are a few surprises thrown in, but nothing really unexpected ( unless you read the books , then there will be one BIG surprise ). The acting is fine , especially Allan Rickman as Serveus Snapes ( I enjoyed him in all the movies so far ) The movie is worth going to the theatre for, but don't get too excited about it. As far as the summer movie releases go this one falls in behind " Public Enemies" and the number one "Star Trek".
This is a good movie, that could have been a very good movie. Visually, it is stunning. But that is one of its problems. It is so visually stunning that you can't make out what is going on when the autobons are fighting. I think this movie would have been better if they just had Megan Fox stand there and breathe for 90 minutes ( Now that would be visually incrdible ! ). The bloom is really off the rose with this movie. It needed to top the first one and instead is just more of the same. The performances are fine, especially John Torturro. This is not a bad movie, it's just not a very good movie.
With movies like "Speed Racer" and "Prince Caspian" doing mega box office ( well maybe not Speed ) along comes Indy. This is a good movie that is really on the verge of being a great movie. The directing, acting are right on que. The only weakness, if it really is a weakness, come in the writhing. The writing tends to be a little confusing in a spot or two during the movie. Other than that, I say please don't make us wait as long for the next time we see Indy.
