It didn't quite have what the "originals" had. Much like the sequels to the original Star Wars trilogy, Indy 4 had unbelievable action sequences and computer generated effects, but lacked the "original" substance and feeling of the prior movies.
Harrison has some of his original charm, but he is much older now, and tired. And the lines that were written for him were out of character from the last three movies.
Still quite a show and lots of fun though. May as well go and see it in the movies for old times sakes.

THIS MOVIE WAS AWFUL! teh movie was good until they revealed what the skull belonged to. i was so disappointed that the stunts were somewhat computer animated. Indiana Jones is supposed to be real, not computer animation.

I believe this lived up to the previous Indiana Jones films. It had a wonderful opening that stays true to Indiana Jones films with a glimmer of what they're looking for and a quick get out of a situation scene that is fun and smart. I love that they brought back Karen Allen for the part of Marion, and Marion and Indy were able to bicker like they had just filmed the first film yesterday. Shia LaBeouf was quite the standout in his role, and if Harrison Ford was to ever pass the Indiana Jones torch onto another actor, I believe Shia LaBeouf could do (though I also feel he can do no wrong as far as acting!) It had the appropriate level of action sequences, as well as humor we come to expect, even after this many years since the last film. The biggest thing I was mildly disappointed with was the amount of sci-fi. I've come to expect some unreal mystical happenings in Indiana Jones films, but towards the end, this just got to be a little on the cheesy sci-fi end....George Lucas I guess as written one too many sci-fi stories. I think of Indiana Jones as action/adventure movies, not science fiction. Overall, worth seeing, extreamly fun, and enjoyable! I took my mother who doesn't like seeing movies much or watching television, but has always enjoyed the Indiana Jones films, and she had a ball watching this! Even with the overly hokey parts, it definitely lives up to the "must see of the summer"!

Well, he is back, but for how long...is this it or might we see more with a new face later. For the older Indiana fans..this measured up fairly well....lots of action and of course it has that Professor Jones humor that you can only get from Harrison Ford as Indi.... I thought it was great. They didn't try to make Indy look like he didn't age (even though I doubt a man that age could do those stunts - it is after all a movie). I loved the fact that they brought back Karen Allen! And I loved the line that was something like "None of them were you". I liked that they showed the warehouse again, the pictures of his father and friend. It seemed to all come together as well as imply there might be future stories with the son as Indy II.

After so many years I was expecting better. The movie had it's moment, but I was constantly finding myself go,"Yeeeeaaahh ooo k". The stunts were a bit out there and had no realism. While the humor was good, it didn't seem to match the overall flow of Indiana Jones. Fans of the series will enjoy it but wouldn't say it was the best. On our way out we started to think we were better off seeing Speed Racer and waiting for this one on Blue Ray.

Wanted to love the movie - and glad it was made but story did not hold together particularly well. There was also just too much suspension of disbelief for me - once or twice in a movie is fine as in previous 3 - but not as many times as happened here. But do check it out because at the end of the day it is still Harrison Ford as Indy....

Why did we go? Why did we stay? What were they thinking? The movie was hard to follow and action was so over the top it was annoying at times. It was like their goal was to make each scene more unbelievable than the previous one. You expect some stretch, but they took it to a new level. Last time I felt this ripped off was paying to watch the cast of Ocean's 13 have a big party on my dime.

Action scenes were a bit unbeleivable, and ending was weak. This is definately the fourth best of the four films (and thats behind temple of doom!). That said, its still Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, so if you've seen the other three, you should check this out - just maybe wait til its out on DVD.

I found this movie one of the best Indiana Jones movie ever made, due in large part to the humor, the special effects and the story line. It capivated my 8 year old son who did not want to miss a moment of the movie. The fight scenes were both action filled and full of humor. I highly recommend this movie which was greeted by applause at the end by the entire audience.

This movie is for fans only, in mine and my mother's opinion. Some fights scenes go on ridiculously long. My mother actually fell asleep during one of them a woke up to the same fight scene. Oh, by the way, it's a little dull for an action movie. And the story line goes from intriguing to 'What the ?@!%, You're kidding right? No, I guess not.' Unfortunately. The plot is way out there for a Indy movie, though if you know Mayan history, or familiar with some Native American history (history is the religious aspect) it's not completely out there. But for what I'm used to seeing in an Indy movie, it's out there. None the less as a fan I probably would still by the movie when it's out on DVD. It's not a bad movie but it's not great either, it's just O.K. This is for die hard fans only that want to catch Indiana's next adventure.

I was sorely disappointed in the script. Convenient and boring dialogue, eye-rolling plot twists and reveals, flat character relations... This movie kept with the theme, humor, and action of past Indiana Jones movies. Harrison Ford was spectacular again and Shia LaBeouf was just awesome and hot as ever! There was a good balance of special effects in this one but the storyline behind the crystal skull was slightly confusing. It's one of those movies you can watch multiple times, which is a bonus! The original ("Lost Ark") was head and shoulders above the two later sequels ("doom" and "Crusade"). Not to say that they were terrible, but they were not as good as the original. "Crystal Skull" was almost as good as the original; the adventure, new characters, plot and action made the 19 year wait worthwhile. Should Hollywood choose to do another, I would see it in a heartbeat.

This is the 3rd best in the jones series. It had good humor, but the action wasn't intense. Usually Indiana Jones movies have you on the edge of your seat cheering on the hero. This time it ok to just watch him.

I absolutely could not believe that anyone would let George Lucas anywhere near anything resembling a script after the last three Star Wars fiascos. But they did. And he has not improved. The story and plot were vapid, laughable and confusing. It was a script for a bad episode of some TV sci-fi nonsense. Please, George, give it up. However, Steven Spielberg managed to get some good performances out the cast, in spite of the tripe they had to work with. But I had to laugh when Harrison Ford's first close up was a soft focus shot. If you want to see it in the theater, wait until it goes to the cheap seats.

I liked the humor and story of the first 3 Indy movies better. The jungle scene was not believable. The special effects were better in the first 3 movies.

Yes, a little far fetched plot, but great adventure, humor, and stunts. A true Indiana Jones movie. I will go see it again, and I will buy the DVD when it comes out.

I thought it was a little slow getting started, but it is a good catch-up movie for someone who has never seen an Indiana Jones movie before. Once it got going though Indy was on his game. I wish there had been a little better story line but I love the ending!
