Vapid story, fun performances

I was disappointed that they even decided to make a fourth movie and had determined not to see it. But a friend wanted to go see it for his birthday, so I acquiesed.
I absolutely could not believe that anyone would let George Lucas anywhere near anything resembling a script after the last three Star Wars fiascos. But they did. And he has not improved. The story and plot were vapid, laughable and confusing. It was a script for a bad episode of some TV sci-fi nonsense. Please, George, give it up.
However, Steven Spielberg managed to get some good performances out the cast, in spite of the tripe they had to work with. But I had to laugh when Harrison Ford's first close up was a soft focus shot.
If you want to see it in the theater, wait until it goes to the cheap seats.
