Finally, the series is over! Its wraps it up very nicely, includes the things from the book you want it to include, and rounds it all out well. You tear up when you should, you cheer everything on when you want to.
Honestly, I am not one of those people who has jumped on the 3D bandwagon. I saw this in an IMAX 3D because that's what everyone else in my group wanted to see, but I honestly don't think it really added anything spectacular to the film. I don't think seeing it in a regular old theater would have lessened my enjoyment at all.
So if you want to save your money and see it in a regular theater, you won't miss it. If you want to go all out and get the IMAX 3D experience, well, you probably think it's the best thing in the world anyway. Overall, film-wise, good ending to a long, good series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good, but not meatballs flying in our face.

The old blue/red 3D glasses gave me migraines. The new, True 3D is a wonderful experience, as I now get the whole point of why HD is so great. I thought something like this was just something I could watch at Disney World. Most animation should be this way, though I love the classic Mickey's. The story was fun, the jokes were funny. We had a great time! I would have liked to see a few meatballs (or hot dogs, or steaks) flying out of the screen at our heads, as I debated before hand cooking pasta to throw at my kids when this happened to enhance the experience. Glad i didn't, as nothing truly "popped out of the screen" at us. Overall, a Fun Movie
It was a fun movie. It had a constantly moving story, the action was very face paced, and there were laughs all around. There was a good message, and the animation was done well. My minor gripes with the film are this; I love Jack Black. I think he is absolutely hilarious, and I've really enjoyed everything I've ever watched him in, including interviews! However, this is a cartoon, and at moments I found myself wondering if there was every a point when he would just stop talking! I'm also not sure the message of the story was fully understood by all. I had a good range of children with me, 11, 9, and 4, and I don't think one of them got the moral of the story. It was pretty plain to see, but they never came out and said it.
As usual, pixar pushes the envelope with visuals and stories. I believe whatever critic said this said it best, that "If Charlie Chaplin were a robot, Wall-E would be it!" My children, ages 4, 9, and 11 loved it, and I did as well. It is NOT like Cars or The Incredibles, so if you're expecting something like that, this is not for you. You must go to the film expecting it for what it is, a robot has basic emotions and is curious about the human trash that has been left behind on earth. If you go expecting anything more than this, you will be disappointed. It is not action packed, it does get a little sappy-sweet at times. Children seem to like it, though, especially younger children such as the 3-8 age range. Wonderful and sweet!
I believe this lived up to the previous Indiana Jones films. It had a wonderful opening that stays true to Indiana Jones films with a glimmer of what they're looking for and a quick get out of a situation scene that is fun and smart. I love that they brought back Karen Allen for the part of Marion, and Marion and Indy were able to bicker like they had just filmed the first film yesterday. Shia LaBeouf was quite the standout in his role, and if Harrison Ford was to ever pass the Indiana Jones torch onto another actor, I believe Shia LaBeouf could do (though I also feel he can do no wrong as far as acting!) It had the appropriate level of action sequences, as well as humor we come to expect, even after this many years since the last film. The biggest thing I was mildly disappointed with was the amount of sci-fi. I've come to expect some unreal mystical happenings in Indiana Jones films, but towards the end, this just got to be a little on the cheesy sci-fi end....George Lucas I guess as written one too many sci-fi stories. I think of Indiana Jones as action/adventure movies, not science fiction. Overall, worth seeing, extreamly fun, and enjoyable! I took my mother who doesn't like seeing movies much or watching television, but has always enjoyed the Indiana Jones films, and she had a ball watching this! Even with the overly hokey parts, it definitely lives up to the "must see of the summer"!
