It was terrible -- no story, low-energy performances by stars, old-hat stunts -- I left after 45 minutes and I had REALLY been looking forward to it since I loved the earlier ones. Not sure even the DVD will be worth watching!

This is a great movie, and it holds up to its predecessors with action, funny gags, great protagonists, and even more menacing villains! The only draw back of this movie is the potential "hokey"- factor, considering the subject of the movie. However, I felt this was safely avoided... and besides, Indy has always had a supernatural aspect, this movie just stepped it up a notch. What else would you expect from Speilberg and Lucas?!?!
Add Harrison Ford, a seasoned actor, everyone's favorite Indy girl Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), and Shia LaBeouf (who I had my doubts about initially..) this movie not only raises a movie goers expectations, but satisfys them!
THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

If you saw the second National Treasure, you have already seen this movie. There are a few twists but it is very similar. I wish there had been more character development as well. The movie was entertaining, but it is not on par with the other Indiana Jones movie.

If you believe in the concept of "Indiana Jones" - e.g. Raiders of the Lost Arc, then you WILL NOT be disappointed ! Spielberg and Lucas really re-studied the series, did their homework and put their creative largess to work like they were out for a totally different movie. Bringing back Karen Allen is welcomed to "complete" the substory relationship. I will purchase when it comes available.

I loved this movie. I love how the comedy fits in and that they brought Marion back. The story line was great but so far fetched from the other story lines. This is the only one I can't believe because I don't believe there is aliens. I could believe the Kingdom part and the city of gold but that's just a myth. I love the snake scene and the scene when they are in the back of the truck arguing about the past. I love Harrison and Shia they were so great together.

After 19 years, really the only way for the 4th installment of the Indy series to go was down. But in recent Lucas style, the plot, story and dialogue of the movie did not live up to the original movies. But let us forget about George's inability of late to write a decent story. Instead, let's talk action and effects. This is where the movie easily lives up to the original series. With LucasArts and Skywalker sound, the visual and audio effects are stunning, much like they were in Iron Man. However, that being said, there were too many other movies that echoed in this movie (Mission to Mars and The Mummy to name a few). This movie was indeed entertaining and the effects were top notch. However, it definitely fell short of living up to the classic Indy series in many aspects. Much like most of the trilogies that decided to add one more movie because everyone demanded it, it should have ended at 3.

Although the movie seemed corny in parts, I enjoyed watching it. The idea behind the origins of the crystal skull was interesting but I wish Lucas and Spielberg would have expanded a little more on the story line. However seeing Harrison Ford reprise his role of Indy made it worth watching.

I am an avid Indiana Jones fan so this was a must see. Not as spine tingling as the first 3 movies but definitely worth seeing. It offered all the swashbuckling adventure we have come to love from Indy along with an old romance and an additional character that brings hope for future continuations.

This sequel was mediocre. I got bored during the last third. It was too long. It seemed more like a vehicle to set up Shia LaBeouf (Project Greenlight) for a possible "new" Indiana Jones III character. Poor Cate Blanchette must have been so bored considering how her talent is far above this character and the script. The jokes about Indy Jr's (Harrison Ford) age were a good way to handle the geriatric character.

Not near 'Raiders' - Lucas has definitely lost his touch in writing scripts (I think the 'Stargate' crew should come after him). No depth in the character exchanges - esp. father-son - very hollow. Just cutesy one-liners and lots of special effects.

If you are a fan of the Indiana Jones series (as I am), you may be in for a disappointment for the latest installment of the heroic archeologist. The best word that describes this movie is "thin" While Harrison Ford carries the character forward 20 years quite well, the rest of the movie seems almost like a recycling of the previous best parts. The plot which is suppose to create tension and drive the story is overly convoluted, lacks any real urgency, is frequently contradictory, and often doesn't make any sense at all. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you (as it does me), you will probably enjoy the rest of the typically excellent action scenes, wry humor, scary creatures, and familiar friends and villians. It has been said that production for the 4th Indy movie was delayed for years while they searched for the right script... that this is what they waited for seems harder to believe than Indy raicing Soviet agents for a long lost Alien skull that will give them unlimited power. Overall this movie is a C+ The disappointment you feel is knowing that with a just a bit more work (rewriting the script and plot) it could have been an A.

The action scenes were over the top, almost everything was computer generated, the villain wasn't intimidating, some scenes were rushed, and the ending was anti-climactic. It feels as if I was lured to see this movie just because it's an Indiana Jones movie, then Lucas and Spielberg jumped out of nowhere, both slapped me in the face, and yelled "SYKE"! The beginning was a pretty smooth, but then it just falls apart. what an awful way to end such an exciting and fantastic trilogy.

This movie tried a little too hard to reflect the first movie, "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Using some of the same type scenes and characters didn't make me feel like I was watching a new adventure but a badly redone version of the first. I could have also done without the silly CGI prairie dogs. They just seemed to have been thrown in for sake of using CGI. "See what we can do with computers! wow!" They had absolutely nothing to do with the plot nor were they comic relief enough to be worth the money to put them in.
What happens to directors and producers after they make their millions? Do they simply forget how to produce good films? These guys are legends in the industry, and with their success and red tape politics of Hollywood have lost the ability to tell an entertaining story.
On a slightly better note, the movie had a decent idea for a storyline, I just don't think it was executed well. It was somewhat entertaining, but lacked the heart and soul I expected. I'd recommend this movie to a friend only with the understanding that it is best viewed in a theatre. DVD would make it even less inspiring.

This movie definitely has the taste of the Indiana Jones franchise, and the new cast works, but is way over the top in unbelievable adventures - except the ending (which does kinda fit). Previous Indiana Jones films carried the fantastical in a much more believable context within the storyline. The script could have used a little more at the beginning to draw us into the story and stop throwing nibbles to what occurred in-between time periods. Special kudos to Karen Allen - looks great, plays the role to the hilt, and we have lost nothing between episodes.

Classic indy! Shia LeBeouf is fantastic! Harrison may be grayer and creakier but he still has that Indiana charm. I felt like the lead villan's character was a bit underdeveloped and poor cast but it didn't impact the movie too badly.
I did miss Sean Connery and "Marcus Brody"!!!

Thought it was a fun little movie but not sharp and fresh like the others. Happy to see Harrison Ford on the big screen again in all his glory, and Shia LaBeouf is talented and easy on the eyes.

Harrison Ford has aged well and is still believable as Indy,rest of cast wonderful as well.Too many overly long fight scenes,in fact the movie dragged at points.Interesting concept and great special FX.Worth an afternoon but not a repeat viewing.

This film is as wonderfully funny as they all have been. The way it carries over the themes from the Last Crusade is great. If you grew up in the 50's you'll hardly stop being amused from the opening scenes.

This was a fun movie to watch. It had the usual great action scenes. It was a bit predictable, but just what I was hoping it would be. I love the happy ending.
