I wish I could soul search like she got to. Everyone should go on a trip like that at some point in their lives. I thought the movies was well done even though people felt it was slow. For me I settled in for the long haul and enjoyed it.
Pros great story, great actors, slow but nice

I read numerous reviews and they were not encouraging, so I wanted to see for myself. I highly enjoyed the ride. I identified with the character: laughed, cried, yelled at, encouraged and smiled. I will buy the movie for when we have girl-time to engage in meaningful conversations of the moment. We've all been there, in one form or another. :-)

This movie was great! I loved how inspiring it was! It was a roller coaster of emotions! I was smiling, laughing, crying, and angry. i felt as though I could relate to her and I was one wit her. I will have to buy this movie when It comes out and recommended it to many others.

We went to see Eat, Pray, Love yesterday and I liked it.
I have to say that initially it was a bit slow and I kept wanting them to "get on with it". But once it took off I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think perhaps a lot of people can relate to some of what Liz is going through - that's what makes the movie good to me.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Julia - well, how could she be anything but terrific? The scenery and some of the characters were quite fun and interesting. So, I guess like others here I'm disappointed in the actual storyline. I have not read the book, but I shall to see if it fleshes it out a bit for me as I feel the screenplay must not have done it justice.
Italy was easily the most fun part of her journey, after that...eh.
Liz is a confused, somehow disoriented woman finding herself. I didn't get the feeling she ever accomplished that goal. There were sparks of it but nothing that connected as "ah, she's gotten it now".
She spends most of her time trying not to fall into another relationship and ultimately ends up doing just that several times after her marriage ends. It's like she's not searching for herself, but to somehow lose the part of herself that falls too easily.
I was quite disappointed with the ending, which I won't give away. But I will say - I thought it might have made a better point about her journey had it ended differently. It seemed like a sell out to me.
I also didn't feel even a tiny spark between Liz and the character played by Javier Bardem. Not even a little. I guess it made for a pleasant 2 hrs but I won't buy it on DVD, which is a first for me on a JR film.

I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about this movie. It was different somehow sums it up. Seemed to move slow at times. I was dissappointed in some of the language, story line could have gone without it. Julia did a good job with her part, as usual. I guess I would recommend to a friend.
