This was my favorite book, which was suspenseful and exciting. They turned it into a bad teenage love drama. I have never been so dispointed. The main point of the book is learning about Voldermore not who was kissing who.

I found this film the most entertaining of all the Harry Potter films. The humor was quite unexpected but welcome. While the movie didn't follow Rowling's book exactly (some minor changes or omissions), I think the director kept the overall spirit of the book. I'll have to watch it again to appreciate all the visual effects and minor details I probably missed the first time.

I know there was no way to include everything from the book in the movie, but what they left out was too important, and then they added scenes that were not in the book! There was no "feeling" either in love or hate in this movie, the kiss scene was lacking emotion, and the scene between Snape & Harry after the death of Dumbledore felt as if Harry had just stopped him to ask "Hey Dude what you do that for?" In the book just reading the words you can feel the increased hatred that Harry is feeling for Snape at that point. I hope the screen writer and the director will redeem themselves in the last two movies, if it was up to me I would get somebody else to do the job.

Ok so let me begin by saying that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was my favorite Harry Potter book and I was beyond excited for the movie. (i bought my ticket over a week in advance) But when I saw it I was completely outraged. They added new things that never happened in the book and left out all the excitement that the book possessed. The acting was great but the screen play was a complete disappointment.

This was a fantastic movie. The effects were extremely well done and the acting was great. I thought this movie was the best out of the six. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and there was still some romance in it. The movie has great twists and turns and I absolutely recommend this to any harry potter fan.

I thought they did a great job with this film. It has more comedy than the other films in the series, which was refreshing. They left out certain parts of the book (which always happens and is understandable), but overall I thought it represented the book very well and was fun to watch.

With the exception of the first two films, all subsequent films do not closely follow the book. Characters are eliminated in an obvious attempt to save money and exciting or tricky parts of the book are eliminated because they would cost too much money to recreate. The movie was average and does not live up to the hype.

We have to remember that there is a difference between a book and a movie based on a book. That said, I believe the movie was very stunning visually and the acting was surprisingly much better especially from our three lead actors. I was dumbfounded by the addition of frivolous scenes that had nothing to do with the story line, especially at the expense of explanations to plot and the many scenes cut from the book. Granted that I saw this movie at 2 am because the projector broke in my theater, I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to see it again. Maybe I'll appreciate it more the next time!

This was the best of the Harry Potter films. The book was better, but that is always the case. If you haven't already, you should read the book before you see the movie. Many important things from the book were left out . But, as the films go, this was the best one yet. A lot of humor, very enjoyable and well made. Can't wait unitl it comes out in 3-D.

The movie was good .. It did fairly accurately follow the book .. I guess each of us has favorite parts of the book that they would have like to see .. I do think the end was a bit of a let down Dumbledores Funeral was a big part of the book and the overall sadness that prevailed into the next book in the series . I really enjoyed this movie. If you have read all the Harry Potter books, I believe it was the closest to the book of any of the previous movies. Of course somethings were left out but the true essence of the book was there: the Father/son/ mentor/friend relationship between Dumbledore and Harry, the idea that Snape truly is on the evil side, the students growing up and having relationships, the increasing role of Ginny in Harry's life and the beginning of Harry's journey to find the horcruxes. All in all, I was not dissappointed. It made me want to go straight home and read Deathy Hallows again. I can't wait for the next movie.

Although it was the first in the series to really stray from the book (rather than just cut things out), the movie was awesome. It had me engaged from beginning to end. The flow of the story went very well to have kept me awake until 3am. My only criticism is that they really didn't go into detail about the half-blood prince it felt almost as if the movies subtitle was an afterthought.

I enjoy Harry Potter Movies, I have not read the books. This movie to me was the absolute best out of the series. However, with that said, I went with my sister-in-law who is a die-hard Potter Fan (owns and has read every book) and she enjoyed the movie but was apparently upset about a major part being left out. I am a hug fan of the series and still cannot believe how this movie draws me back to the book each time. All the action, drama, romance budding, etc. is all in this movie. The best part of this HP flick is the commedy. Many funny lines and scenes unlike the previous ones, that I found very refreshing. Highly recommend to all old and new Harry fans!

I thought the movie was wonderful. It was more faithful the the books than the last few and rivals Prisoner of Azkaban. It was witty and dark at the same time. The only criticism I have is that it could have focused on Harry and Ginny's relationship a little bit more. Other than that a fantastic movie!

As I watched this movie, I looked for a couple of things. First off, would Quidditch be back? Yes, at long last they brought Quidditch back (the last film did not have Quidditch, although Umbridge did forbid it). Would the scenes be explained? Yes, I understood what the actors/actresses were doing and why. Lastly, how would the new actor who plays Professor Slughorn be? He was outstanding. There was much to do with teenage emotions in this movie. Ah, to be in love. I just cannot wait until November of 2010, when "Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows part one" is released (part two will be released in July of 2011).

I thought the acting in this Harry Potter movie was the best I have seen in any of them. The movie was very entertaining -- a lot of humor this time. I also thought it was probably easier to follow for someone who hadn't read the book than many of the other recent ones were -- it flowed very nicely from one scene to the next.
My daughter and friend didn't like it because there wasn't enough "action." But I should point out that they haven't liked any of the movies on 1st viewing since so much of the book must be left out, yet they have grown to love all of the movies.

This movie had excellent special effects! It followed the book fairly accurately and was not a disappointment! Seeing this movie with keep you anticipating every scene, as well as the next movie!

The movie could have been better but it was very enjoyable. I saw it with my friend, she said it's definitely the funniest of the 6 movies. I think had I not read the book that it would have been much better. Mad about there only being one Harry & Ginny scene, also that Tonks is only in one scene that was not even in the book. The movie was kind of dark as the last few have been, and I know that these are dark times but you don't have to make everything so cheerless. The premiere was fun and sometimes I'll get bored but the movie kept me awake the entire time. I'll definitely see it again.

Sorry, but I can't agree with those reviews praising this movie to high heaven. The screenplay was so flat. So much of it was NOT true to the book, even little things that, while small, really irked me. Was it to save money on special effects? And the scene that isn't even IN the book...it has no significance in the story. Why was it there? For some action because even the director recognized the screenplay just there was putting people to sleep? I cannot fault the acting, with such a brillant cast, they certainly worked it hard. The sense of disappointment I felt after waiting for 1 1/2 years was overwhelming. See the movie, by all means HP fans. But don't get your hopes too high.

I too thought the move was a good representation of the book with one exception......spoiler alert: The end of the movie, without the remarkable school "war" left me pondering the whole reason behind Draco's "job," since it proved pointless in the end. Other than that, we laughed, we cried and we jumped in our seats. Good job!
