I really enjoyed this film. I absolutely loved Rupert Grint in this particular film. It was good to see a little well deserved focus on him. He is a very funny performer. The whole theatre was laughing at his antics and discoveries. The main characters were great as usual and the supporting cast was good too. I loved all the performers as well as the whole show as there were so many personal relative emotions shown. I could relate. I would recommend it to anyone.

This movie was long, and for those who read the book, might be disappointing. The book is much better, but I think the movie stays true to the storyline of the book in only 2 1/2 hours. This book is so dark, I don't think there was any way to make the movie better. There were enough clues in the story to pave the way for the last two movies. Good fleshing out of Draco and Snape characters.

If you have read the books and seen the earlier movies, you know by now not to expect the movies to be very similar to the books. This latest cinematic installment is no different. Remembering this allowed me to enjoy the movie more. It was a well-made film, very entertaining, probably the funniest of all the Harry Potter films, but I felt that it did not fully embrace the darkness of the book. I could not help but notice some major changes from the book. Some were reasonable, but others I did not see as justifiable. The ending was slow. Though I have these criticisms of the film, I still felt it was a good movie that was entertaining and worth seeing.

Overall the movie was excellent. I really enjoyed the action. It told the basic story line of the book very well. Yes there were parts that were left out, but to tell the whole book's story would have taken 4 hours or more, not possible. It will connect the five previous books and the final book very well. The last two movies are the complete 7th book. They decided that they could not leave out anything from the last book so they are using the movie making model from "Lord of the Rings". It will serve well.

I really enjoyed the latest addition to the Harry Potter series, The Half Blood Prince. The cast was uniformly excellent. Standouts were Jim Broadbent as Slughorn, Tom Felton as Malfoy and Alan Rickman, as my favorite character Snape. While I was hoping for more of the climax in the book, I still felt the ending was both moving and exciting. I am very glad that the Deathly Hallows will be 2 films!

Well made and acted, with an effective dark tone, but it sacrifices some of the complexity that elevated the book- particularly the exploration of the villain. Obviously a director has to make choices with what to chop, but the movie leaves out a MAJOR theme from the book, and one of the key stories in the series. This, more than any other book, explored Lord Voldemort- his past, his ambitions, his personality. The movie does away with all that, giving only two scenes, neither of which demonstrate any of his motivation or methods. He's evil because if he weren't there wouldn't be anyone for the hero to fight. They could have sacrificed some teen romance for the sake of one of the more interesting villains in recent fiction.

If you love the books, then the key to enjoying the movie is to view it as a separate work. If everything in the book was included in the movie, it would be a mini-series - not a movie.
The direction and cinematography in this film were excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the character development in this film. Those that have been disappointed in the film probably would have preferred less character development and more action, but this film is lacking in neither.
There's always more that you wished could have been included in the film, but at 2 1/2 hours it would have been difficult to put much more in.

The Potter series are getting better and better, just as the books did. The remarkable part is the actors have all stayed and they have grown with their roles. My only complaint is that out of time necessity they leave out some parts, background facts, that are only missed by those of us who have read the books.

The movies was ok, not as good as the others. I think they spent too much time showing junk rather than the good stuff. I think they should have showed more fighting scenes and the funeral / effects from the death (not mentioning who died so it wont spoil it for those who havent seen it yet). Anyway I think it was ok but could have been much much better with the budget HPotter has.

This installment of the Harry Potter series was the best movie yet, but when compared to the book it falls short. As an avid reader of the series, I was disappointed to see that the half-blood prince story was just a side note in the movie. Also there were certain scenes that were just thrown in while other major ones from the book were left out. If a person has not read the books they will be quite pleased, but if one has read the books, try to keep a more open mind then I did.

I was so excited that another Harry Potter movie had arrived in the theaters; however, after seeing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I was left feeling that there were 2.5 hours of my life I couldn't get back. This movie lacked the plot, suspense, and overall excitement of the previous Harry Potter movies. It must be so hard to condense these books into just one 2 1/2 hour movie! This was a great job though, exciting, the characters are finally real 'characters', good balance between action, romance and humour. The liberty that the producers took with several aspects (e.g. Harry and Ginny) was right on and made for very convincing story lines. What makes me give it four stars is that the movie builds up, and up, and up to a plateau and then... No real climax. This same feeling was expressed by both my sons (13 and 15). The end is good though and really makes one hunger for the next one... Overall judgement: great movie!

Acting, screenplay, special effects were excellent. The edited story seemed sorta flat, without the richness of human drama the book had. Two items in particular were problematic. 1) Without an explanation about the doorway into the Room of Requirements and what the room is, those scenes would have been confusing to someone who hadn't read the books or seen a movie recently. 2) I'm particularly disappointed with one critical element that was lost. The end of the book finally had Harry understanding the role of love and how Voldemort was actually more enslaved to Harry than Harry was to him. And that Voldemort had, in essence, created the very situation that could eventually destroy him.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much the movie stayed with the gist of the book. There were added and amended scenes but they were not distracting and established the mood of the book as well. The character development was the most enjoyable part of the movie. This particular movie was the best at giving you more of what the characters were like in the book. And, of course, wonderful special effects were on hand to wow the audience. It was great hearing John Williams' musical score again. He is the best at establishing the mood of Harry Potter. The movie was 2.5 hrs. but went by quickly. ****1/2

I truly did enjoy this movie and I believe the actors have really matured in their acting abilities over the years. However, there were key plot points to the story that were left out of the movie and I am now wondering how they are going to pull the plot together in the last 2 movies. Maybe that is why the last book will be split into 2 movies; hopefully they will introduce these plot points (regarding Voldemort's background and the horcruxes) and characters (such as Rufus Scrimgeour).

I loved this movie. I was quite pleased by the work Steve Kloves did on the screenplay. I think this was the most difficult book of the series to adapt (it's all about flashbacks etc). It was very interesting to me to see what was kept from the book, what was left out. It's wonderful to see how these young talent have evolved and blossomed in front of our eyes. The cinematography is gorgeous. It's dark but it's also charming and very funny at times. I was a bit disappointed by Order of the Phoenix but I'm giving a big thumbs up to Half Blood Prince.

This is my favorite one yet! The writers and director did a fabulous job making the book into a movie. I LOVE IT! Going back again to see it this weekend.

It was as different from the book as the other movies. Heard some people were disappointed at the end. If you go into it not comparing it to the book the entire time, you will enjoy the movie like I did.

I am a die hard Harry Potter fan. And while the movie was good, it was the biggest book to movie difference I've seen yet. Very disappointing for a book lover. Will that stop my from buying the DVD?? Nope!
