Very very long and drawn out, I can but didn't read the book but I doubt they were in anyway the same. It seemed like nothing more then a very long set up for the next movie. Great Movie though not completely true to the book it was entertaining and easy to watch. They added some things not in the book and took some things out I would have rather seen. The main thing that bothered me was the lack of fighting but everything else was very good. It's worth the money to buy tickets for and buy the movie when it comes out on dvd.

What happened???? The previews were the entire movie. The movie was lacking the action that i'm use to seeing in this serious. It left you with to many questions. To many to wait for the next chapter, which i'm definatly not going to pay to see. I'll wait till it comes on cable. There was not much going on at all. I was very disappointed. My kids were seriously upset and said they're not interested in seeing the next one. Im glad i took in an early show as to not waste to much money on seeing this.

We loved it, as always. There were a couple of new parts added that were not in the book, but otherwise it was true to the book and powerful, with some great acting and a chance for the actors to grow beyond their traditional roles of the last 5 movies. Of course, we are loyal HP fans so are biased in our review. Can't wait for the final 2 movies!

It could have used less snogging and more magic. I actually fell a sleep in the theatre at one point. Since when has Hogwarts become make out point. I was looking for more action and everytime it looked like that would happen, then it would just stop. I forgot all about the half blood prince because of the love story they turned this movie into. I was extremely disappointed. Don't waste you money at the theatre and just rent it when it comes on DVD so you can fast forward through all the drama.

I have loved Harry Potter since he was first published in the U.K., before he caught on in the U.S. And I absolutely love film -- I see an average of 6 movies per week, and at least one of those in a theater. I thought that the director did as best as he could. I'm sure it's been said before, but the movies would have to be so much longer to fit everything in from the books. All the important parts were covered, both the pleasant and not so pleasant, the comical and the serious. Young children might find all the dark and eerie special effects to be very scary. One last thing, the difference in vocabulary between America and Great Britain is very obvious and at times might be difficult to follow. But overall, the movie is great. That's all.

Some good visual effects. Mediocre at best acting primarily by Daniel Ratcliffe who appears more dull befuddled and stiff than anything else. New character professor does an excellenet job of character development and Dumbledore is on point. Jumps a bit all over and depth of character development limited. Muggle Jenny Weasley acts like the walking dead but her brother does an emotional engaging performance for his character. Emma Watson is again in good form and believeable. Does not do justice to the book. Regrettably made me feel like I would not care if I see another Potter movie.

The BEST so far of the HP movies! So good I don't even know where to begin. The charcaters are growing up and are faced with some very serious issues and the actors play their roles SO well. It's two and a half hours long and trust me, it flys by. There is a lot of action, a lot of humor, a lot of emotion and just a really great movie. Very good prelude into the last two movies.

This movie was the best of the series, but like all Potter films, it left out a lot that was relevant to this film. Some sequences with the pensieve were left out, and of course the biggest omission was the funeral of Dumbledore, which should have been the climax of the movie, and it's absence left moviegoers bewildered why it wasn't included. Also left out was the love story near the end of the book between Harry and Ginny. It could have been 4 hours as far as I was concerned, to get more book details into the movie. But as we all know, Harry Potter movies don't always include everything in the book. A good movie, but a bit short of a great movie. Potter fans will love it, but will also be dismayed at the glaring omissions.

I felt this movie to be the best adaptation since "Chamber of Secrets." While still not a fan of Gambon's interpretation of Dumbledore, I thought he did a much better job than in the previous three movies. The changes and omissions that were made to the story were, in my opinion, reasonable and worked well. I really liked the fact that the internal struggles being faced by the various characters was shown so clearly. I am very excited to see how David Yates brings the last two movies to life.

I love Harry Potter books and moies however was dissapointed in the Half Blood prince movie. It left out so much important info and seemed to be more about teenage crushes. Hopefully in the next movie we can get back to the story.

Daniel Radcliffe was an appealing kid, as the juvenile Harry, but lacks range and complexity as an actor. The film is a little slow at points, but the direction, special effects, and set design are always magnificent. Jim Broadbent steals the show as Slughorn, as does the young actress reprising the role of Luna. This is a tricky book to film, since it was very much a transitional work, setting the stage for final installment.I'm sorry they failed to include my favorite parts from Rowling's original: the opening scene with the Muggle Prime Minister, and the sequences involving Tom Riddle's mother and her family.
