I enjoyed this film from the beginning. The second the movie movie started I instantly remembered my concern for the characters and felt drawn into the story. Throughout the film it jumped a bit, but the film is so well done they kept even a non-reader of the books like me up to speed. I will definately be recomending this film to friends and family.

Beautifully done, visually amazing! The humor really broke up the very dark theme of the movie. The only things with which I could find fault were the leaving out much of the Harry/Ginny romance (so little in the movie!) and leaving out so much of the end. But overall, spectacular and will see again when released on IMAX in my area!

Although certain elements were changed, i.e. the scene on the tower where Harry should have been petrified, I thought the adaptation was great. It had many humorous moments and the acting gets better and better with each movie. I was extremely moved by the wand light scene.

I for one thought they did an excellent job with this movie. To think that they could possibly get everything from the book into the movie is a pipe dream. That's why they split the last book in two. Great special effects and a excellent story line that shows the characters making their way to adulthood. Though anti-climactic, the ending was the calm before the storm. I will go see it again.

I enjoyed watching the movie and although I was a little disappointed by the brief kiss Harry and Ginny shared, I felt they did a great job. I especially enjoyed the moments between Harry and Dumbledore. You could see how much Dumbledore cares for him and that he wishes he could be around to help Harry on his quest and at the end. The scene with Harry and Hermione on the stairs after Ron and Lavender kiss really showed the brother/sister thing they have between them. It was touching to watch him console her since he knew exactly how she felt. And I just can't get enough of Alan Rickman. He was brilliant, as usual, as Snape.

I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Pring this weekend. Overall it was a good film. I have learner that books always suffer in their moview reproductions. Yes, they switched around the order of it, but all in all, it was as I expected. I think that they did an ok job with the movie, but, in general, I will tell everyone, just to wait and buy the DVD, it won't be worth the trip.
my BIGGEST negative review is for the people sitting behind me who brought their three year old to the movie and talked loudly all the way through the picture. Pleaseleave your infants at home.

Harry Potter fan til the end. This movie is awesome. I like to see that the characters aren't the little kids that started the series but rather evolving. Love the comdey, tension and companionship all wrapped up in this film.

The long awaited film was good yet disappointing as well. This was the first Harry Potter movie that I thought failed to completely follow the book. There were several important details left out. If you had not read the book you would not have understood everything that was happening. I hope the last book being cut in two, will live up to the excellence of the first 5.

Very nice addition to the Harry Potter series. It was very successful in giving you sort of a "highlight reel" of the book without losing too much substance. The pace also felt more natural, compared to the sprint to the finish that was "Order of the Phoenix." The added and changed events, while somewhat disappointing, at least felt like they could have happened within the scope of the book, remaining faithful to both Rowling's and the film's style. The ending kind of fizzles out, but overall it was a very satisfying watch.

Good Afternoon readers, I thought this movie was exhilarating, and was fascinating. I dislike the part of having to persist in romance, but other than that it was a movie for the whole family to watch for enlightenment. These movies have impacted my life because it brought my momma jellybean, and I together with an everlasting bond. My favorite characters are Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood. It is sulky when Mr. Albus Dumbledoor becomes deceased, but like every fascinating movie they keep you with a lingering thought about what might happen next. I thank you Mrs J. K. Rowling for writing those intelligent, intellectual, and educational books.

I read the books. I understand that you can't put every little detail in the movie. However, I feel that it was too spotty. They didn't deal with Snape enough. They left out to many things with Tonks and Lupin. The movie could easily have been 20 - 30 mins longer and not hurt anyone. I am sick and tired of watching movies cut short because of this silly time limit. However, I knew this book was going to be a problem because it was so "internal". Much of the story of the movie is what people are thinking and that is hard to portray on film.
Overall, however, I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't a waste of time and I glad I saw it. I just hope they spend more time on the details with the last movie.

As usual, the special effects were good.
But this movie was difficult to follow, the story rambled all over the place, and there were too many side stories. Additionally, there were seemingly important scenes such as exploring the cave by the sea that didn't seem to have a darn thing to do with the plot. If it did, I missed it.

This was an excellent movie, however, quite a bit darker than previous version and might be a bit scary for younger children. Some of the snogging was a bit much but nothing over the top. Special effects were great. Will definitely see the next one based on this one.

I'm not a Harry Potter fanatic but I have enjoyed both the books and the movies. This one, The Half Blood Prince, seems to fall in the middle of the pack for me. It was good - I thought the production values were truly spectacular, music was a bit off at times, but all in all I missed the "magical" transformation scenes that were more heavily featured in other Harry Potter movies. I thought that the romantic aspects really didn't add much to the movie.

Having been an avid Harry Potter fan, I had high hopes for this movie. I was disappointed. While I knew what was going on from having read the books, I thought it would have been difficult for someone who hadn't read the books to really get into it. Book 6 was so full of dramatic moments that didn't get captured in the film. The ending thoroughly disappointed me---where was Dumbledore's funeral? The lack of Voldemort backstory was disappointing too. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.

Loved the special effects and of course, I'm hooked on the whole Harry Potter magic. But this was two and a half hours of cute but unrelated moments or real storyline interrupted by goofy teenage infatuation. Voldamort and his Death Eaters have become meaningless ruffians. The story here could have been told in a tight, meaningful way in about 1.5 hours, and I would have been raving about it! Darn!

I really enjoyed the movie. The acting was excellent, the storyline kept to the book (for as well as a movie could) and I really enjoyed the humor mixed in. As with all great movies they have to end but this ending was not expected. This may be the only time I wished that Hollywood would have stepped in and deviated a bit more from the book. I would really rate this (if there was choice) of 4-1/2 stars. Excellent setting of mood through staging of scenes and the music. Special effects are top notch.
I don't understand the change of two key elements at the end of the movie. Here Harry is free to act in the event leading to the death of Dumbledore but fals to do so contrary to the book and his true "gung ho" character. They also totally eliminated the battle at Hogwarts with the Death Eaters. The net result is a less bleak picture of the battle against Voldemort. I wished that the movie had stayed true to those two story elements (hence the 4-1/2 star rating not a 5)!

It was a wonderfully exciting movie. It flowed from one scene to another without stuttering. I loved it and would definitely see it again. A little disappointed in the ending. My 10yr old wants to know when we are going back!

I will say this: It wasn't a bad movie, just not worth 10bucks to see in theatres. I would say if you want to see it catch matinee. Now I haven't read the book but even then it seemed to be missing a lot (especially at the end). The effects were great but from the previews and the previous movies, I expected a bit more action. There weren't many. Like I said... I would definately go see... but just a matinee showing

I think the screenwriters did a great job showing us the important aspects of a long novel on the big screen. Unlike other reviewers, I was not bothered by the liberties taken with some pieces of the story (maybe that's because I haven't re-read the book in years... and thus ignorance was bliss!) The effects were amazing and Harry and his brood were wonderful. It's been great to see all the characters grow up. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable (although heart-wrenching) experience.

Having read all the Harry Potter Books, I have gone into each movie with guarded expectations. Lets face it, it is rare that any movie can live up the book it represents. Although things were left out of the movie from the book, this was a successful effort that should be pleasing to most die hard fans. It is a great build up to the last films in the series.

I thought this was a wonderful addition to the Harry Potter series. Althuogh it was a bit different than prior movies, it answered a lot of questions and left me wanting more.....as always. Enjoy!
