I really enjoyed the movie. The acting was excellent, the storyline kept to the book (for as well as a movie could) and I really enjoyed the humor mixed in. As with all great movies they have to end but this ending was not expected. This may be the only time I wished that Hollywood would have stepped in and deviated a bit more from the book. If you are a Harry Potter fan you'll love it, if not, it may disappoint you at the end.
I've been a Batman fan for forever. I've liked all the Batman movies to a degree just because of the character. But this was the only movie in the series (besides the original and Batman Returns) that really made a stab at a script. The action was good (as would most movies with multi-million dollar budgets should be) but it was the story that was excellent. The plot twists, the small nuances, the character growth all made this movie the very best of the Batmans and one of the best movies I've ever seen. Heath Ledger was more twisted than Jack Nicholson (scary), Christian Bale was believable as a trouble multi-millionaire and Morgan Freeman gave the movie an added "grounding" when technology threatened to take over. Before this movie Iron Man was the best movie out this summer (I'll admit it was tied with Sex in the City, there I said it) but neither movie was as complete as Batman. Thank you to the producers for not cutting the movie to 90 minutes to make it fit in a neat little time slot. The movie was just as long as it needed to be and I can't wait for all the extras to come out on the DVD. GO SEE BATMAN NOW!! You're wasting time reading anymore reviews, run to your nearest theater and tell them you want a Dark Knight.
