This is probably the best of all the Harry Potter movies to date. I felt it hit all the major plot points well and covered the underlying themes of the book. Oh and Alan Rickman does and excellent job of portraying Severus Snape throughout the entire series. I can't wait to see what he does in the next two movies, and I'm anxiously awaiting those also. All Harry Potter fans should see this movie just for the visuals it gives.

I've not read any of the books and this was the first one of the HP movies I've seen. Just on it's own weight, it was an average movie. The characters weren't very deep and it just seemed like they were moving through the story line.

I enjoyed this film, as I have all the HP film outings. For detail, it can't compare to the novel, but it certainly did the series proud, as we prepare for the final showdown. Side Note: Felix Felicis potion is suppoed to be the color of molten gold. It appeared to be clear in the film. Loved Radcliff'es acting while under the influence of the potion.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I adore the books and have loved all the movies. However, I was disappointed in this film. I think too much time was spent on the teen love/angst and not enough on Voldemort. The point of this book is to lead up to Harry's journey in the 7th book. I don't feel they did a good job capturing that. The actors did a wonderful job with what they were given, I just don't feel the writers did the book justice. I also feel that removing the funeral was a huge disservice to the book and to Dumbledore. I will say though, this was the funniest of all the movies. I did enjoy the humor a lot.

I thought the movie was fantastic but I think for anyone who hasn't read the book, it might be hard to follow. For instance, a reviewer said something about not understanding why what happend in the cave was important... there was also a lot of detail left out about why the "Half Blood Prince" gave himself that name. Can't wait for the next one!

My husband thought this movie was outstanding, as he is a big Harry Potter book reader. I had not read any of the books and found the movie difficult to follow. Dumbledoor has been my favorite character and I was sad to see him go. Not as excited about the last two movies without him in them. That said, all the visual effects were gorgeous and it is a very entertaining movie.

I did actually like this movie, however I was hoping for a bit more magic throwing and special effects. There was quite a bit of story telling but I do understand that it was necessary for us non-book readers. I definitely want to see it again.....I'm sure there were some things I may have missed after hearing the lady behind me wrestling with her popcorn bag!! I do recommend this movie to my friends who like/love Harry Potter!!!

The movie held up to my expectations. Great special effects. Somewhat disappointed that the battle inside the castle (prior to Dumbledore's death) was not a part of the movie, though. Acting was superb, as usual. Looking forward to the next one!!

Beginning of movie just jumped around and was hard to follow. Left out a lot of key scenes from book (house elves) and added scenes that didn't really have a great effect on plot. Overall though it was a good movie and makes you want to see the next two.

Interesting take on the romance and drama involved with growing up in addition to all the magic, spells, potions, etc. that are usually expected in a Harry Potter move. I found the ending to be a bit abrupt, but otherwise really liked it.

If you read the books, you could understand most everything that happened. But, if you had not read this book more recently, one would not understand some of the things that happened. There were too many areas that just popped up with no explaination. I didn't like this movie as well as any of the others. I hope the last 2 will be outstanding. It's very hard to follow if you have never read the book. It's ok for Harry Potter's reader but definitely they left out important parts from the book. It would be better if they made it a 3 hours movie or even split it into 2 like what they will do for the last book. Should watch it just to prepare for the last movie.

As usual, the movie was not as riveting at the book. Things that made the book so enjoyable were taken out of the movie, and the ending was different so be prepared for that. However, the movie was entertaining and I did enjoy it. The lovey-dovey aspect was played up more in the movie than I remember it being in the book, but overall it was a good movie and I will be buying it when it comes out on DVD

The 6th of the Harry Potter movies was one of the very best....equal to the 3rd, I think. The effects were fantastic and I think the acting of the 3 main characters has gotten a lot better. Having read all of the books more than once, it was easy to follow the plot and I think the changes that were made to fit into a 2-1/2 hour movie were well done so that the movie stands on its own very well. Enjoy!

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. However, I was disappointed that they added scenes that weren't in the book. The destruction of the Burrow upset me. That wasn't in the book. J.K. Rowling gave plenty of exciting situations that could have been used. The script writers didn't have to create their own. I was upset that there was no funeral for Dumbledore and no real battle with the Death Eaters at Hogwarts. I know some events have to be left out or the movie would be 6 hours long. However, I think they could have had a more thrilling ending. I have to say, I really enjoyed seeing the main characters act like teenagers. The way they speak to each other seemed very realistic. Rupert Grint is hysterical! I will definitely see it again.

I love all the HP movies. This one is just as awesome. I've loved watching these kids develop their characters as well as their acting skills. This movie is great for adults and kids alike. The kids may not understand some parts. I took my 5 year old and 8 year old and they both raved about it afterwards! Great movie! Will go back to see it again next weekend hopefully!!

I thought the movie was great! It strayed quite a bit from the book and left out quite a few things, but overall it was still a great movie. It wasn't as action packed as previous movies so it seemed a little slow in places. The ending was a little incomplete, but I know from reading the books, that more is to come that will take care of all that.

I thought the movie was terrific!! I especially liked how the relationships evolved between Ginny and Harry and Ron and Hermione. It had some really funny parts to it too. The movie itself was rather long, but it did hold your interest. Definitely a winner!

Definatey darker than any of the preceeding Potter movies. More away from the fairytale Potter, toward the action, adventure and drama.

Harry is looking so mature. Ron was actually buff and Hermione couldn't look more beautiful. The story moved very smoothly. It was hard to watch how Harry knew that something was going on with Dumbledor but couldn't help. Snape looked even more tortured than usual. Malfoy, I think, stole the show. He wanted to do his father's bidding as well as Voldemort's but he was fighting with himself.
