Even though they missed the lenses in Harry's glasses half of the time, overall, the movie was excellent a usual. It's weird to see how all the characters have aged from film to film, when it seems they should all be little kids, but when Harry mentions how long he's been at Hogwarts, you realize they're not kids anymore. Still, glad they are all sticking with the Potter movies to the end.

The films, like the books, grow progressively darker. The 8-10 year olds who enjoyed the first movie will enjoy this, now that they are older. It's a bit beyond the younger set today though.

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest chapter in the Harry Potter series and recommend it to HP aficionados. Can hardly wait for Deathly Hallows, although waiting until Nov. 19, 2010 for part 1 and July 15, 2011 for part 2 is going to be hard to bear. I'll reread the entire series again while I wait.

When the credits began to roll, I was surprised to find out the movie was over. That's about how much they bothered to wrap up the ending. Still, despite the absence of an end, this was a wonderful cinematic experience. As usual, the visual effects were stellar. The young (though aging) actors continue to shine in their blockbuster roles. This dark and latest installment is on the top of my 'buy' list.

This summer is shaping up to be full of duds and let-downs. I've never been one to drum up lots of expectations about movies, but all of the HP movies are at least very good if not excellent. This did not even match up to the worst of the previous 5 films. While Harry Potter & THBP is not a bad movie, neither is it a great movie. It's just OK. David Yates put together a stellar movie with #5 and I thought he would nail this one. Unfortunately not.
That being said HP 6 is Oscar worthy when compared to the likes of the complete excrement-fest that is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

I have seen all the movies and was really disappointed with this one. Not the ups and downs it normally has the ending left you shocked it was over. They should have ended after the killing.. abrupt like.. then they lingered it for really no real purpose and then it just stopped. I could see everyones faces as they walked out that they felt pretty much the same way. It was odd and I love Harry Potter

This movie overall was a well thought out movie. Everyone played their role perfectly; this movie seemed to be rather humerous compared to the other harry potters .. which i enjoyed. Obviously they can't fit the whole book into the movie, so what they were able to put in was well done. There were some major events they left out, but once again they can't fit everything into a two hour movie. I would defenitly recomend this movie to anyone.

Movie was very WELL DONE, worth the extra wait time. The graphics and cinematology were fantastic. It has been awhile since I read the book but Mr Yates did a great job at not cutting things that you really needed to know to get the full picture. Also glad they are splitting last book into 2 movies. Can't wait to see them.

Harry Potter was awesome!! It was easy to follow and there was plenty of action. In the book there was a little more detail that I was expecting but that was okay. The movie is THE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR for sure!

Of the Harry Potter movies, I think this one was the best. I thought that the adaption from book to screen was well done, though they had to cut a lot to keep the movie at a decent length. The flow of the movie was much better than previous movies as well.

This movie wasnt worth the money. As a huge HP fan who follows the books & the movies this was a big disappointment. I know its hard 2 fit everything that was in the book into a 2.5hr movie but they could've chosen MUCH better points. The entire last chapter(funeral) wasnt even touched on & that comes into play l8r. I think they focused way 2 much on the comedy but the thing is the HP movies arent comedies-they are 1st & foremost drama/action movies. The books are funny but I felt that it was overdone in the movie. If u read the books & u havent seen this movie take some advice: wait til the movie comes 2 DVD!

This review may be a tad on biased side being the fact that i am a long time Potter supported, but this movie is totally worth seeing. Visually stimulating effects, mixed with tones of both impending doom and teen angst make this Potter film both menicing and heartwarming at the same time. I was disappointed with this sixth installment in the Harry Potter series! It seemed boring and long although there were a few good special effects moments. If you've read the books, you'll know that they leave out things when they make the movies but I feel that the movie should explain some things so that we can understand the connections better and the reason things in the story are happening.

This is the best of the series. The acting was first rate, with all of the young stars really learning their craft. The decision to not explain every last detail was a good one, as the run time is over 2 1/2 hours, but the pace was crisp. There was a lot of humor in the movie, which was a good counter point to the more dramatic sequences. If you liked the books, the details were somewhat scant, but if you liked the previous films, it will be your favorite.

There is more personal development between the characters in this movie, which is a nice expansion to the movie franchise.
As in all of the HP movies so far, various liberties are taken to condense a year's worth of time into a 2-1/2 hour movie.
However, there are a few issues that give it an "average" rating.
1. Not enough explanation about Riddle and the horcruxes / potential horcruxes. 2. The Burrow scene at Christmas time. 3. Ending was markedly different from the book. Different enough to make you think "why did they do that?"
Anyway, worth seeing, but it was not the best of the series. Definitely had way more potential than it exhibited.

If you read the book you know this is not the most exciting of the storys. But i would like to say thank you to the people makeing the movie for staying true to the story. This movie is the set up movie, it builds relationships adds new people and takes away others. this movie puts the story in motion tords the end of the road. I've taken my brother to see the previous Harry Potter movies. This one was definitely one of the better movies. It was very action filled, and I thought that the acting was excellent. I wasn't a big fan of the 6th novel to begin with, so when the 6th movie came out I wasn't jumping over the moon with excitement, but I was not about to pass up the chance to see it at midnight. I thought that the movie was well structured, but that a lot of times it was too fast paced and so you didn't have the chance to feel the emotions that you should for the various parts of the story. I truthfully think that almost every book should have been made in to two movies so that viewers can get everything that they need out of the movies. I would definitely say that anyone who loves the Potter series would really enjoy seeing this movie. Go see it if you haven't!

This is definately one of the best of the Harry Potter franchise. Things went at a good pace and were intense without being horribly scary. My whole family loved it and our ages ran from middle school to grandmother. It definately makes you look forward to the next ones.

The ending was uneventful. It didn't leave me wanting more. I thought the shot they chose for the ending didn't demonstrate the romance of the Hogwart's scenery. The good parts of the movie included the special effects that we have all grown to expect from the Harry Potter movies. They were again spectacular. I also like the way the characters continue to develop. I think this is a big part of the continued success of the Harry Potter series. Most multi film characters just get redone rather than developed and continue to grow and gain depth. Lastly, the movie as a whole certainly left enough set up questions to drive the box office for the next two movies.

Of course, the book will always be "better" than the movie, but I thought the movie was excellent.
It was tightly put together, using imagery shorthand to convey the message and make transitions instead of lengthy exposition. Where the book provides multiple examples to establish character developments, the movie might include one or two. For this reason, a lot of the details of the book are left out, and the viewer is left with impressions that the book fleshes out fully. But I see this as a strength of the movie (a visual medium), rather than a weakness. I think the director and writers chose their book moments wisely. I enjoyed the performances, the pacing moved briskly, and I left wanting to watch it again immediately.

As a true "Potterite" I have not missed an opening weekend of any of the movies. While this was not the best of them, it was well worth seeing. It left some not so key points out, and added some others that werent in the book. still a worthwhile and enjoyable film. looking forward to the last 2 with a great deal of anticipation.
