If you read the books you may be a little disappointed. The beginning was much different from the book and a few things were left out at the end. It was still AMAZING, be prepared to laugh, scream and cry. This movie is intense but there are moments of comedy that will relieve the tension.
I swear i've never had a better experience in a movie theater, there were some parts where everyone was completely silent and other parts where we all erupted in applause. It was more than just a movie, everyone in that theater was bound together by the same thing.
Long story short; you won't even want to leave to go to the bathroom. (i held it for two and a half hours)

Great combination of action, comedy, and somber moments. Does not play exactly to the book, but I think is better for it. A lot of the plot is meant to lead into the last movies, but it stands alone well on its own.

althought i was disapointed by some of the book elements they left out. I thought the screen play was excellent and you just have to separate your thoughts between the books and the movies because they are two separate entities.
David Yates did a great job with filmography I absolutely loved it, very entertaining. cried at the end. I couldn't have asked for much more except some more ginny and harry moments.
I guess i'll have to wait for that ;)

When I walked into the theatre I was excited, mainly cause I couldn't remember most of what went on during the book, because it's been a while since I read it. But when it began, I was really happy. It was a VERY good movie adaption from the book. I loved when Harry drank the liquid luck, it was just hilarious. The whole movie was worth going to see, and I can't wait till it comes out on DVD!!

If you have not read the books you will love the movie. If you loved the book then be ready for some major changes. Yes changes, not just things left out. I understand not filming a sceen but this is a major re-write. No derslys, no gaunt family, no DA battle, no funeral, no Fluer, there is no way to have the wedding in the correct location in Deathly Hallows, no Black will, no creature, no invisibility cloak...not to mention all of the things that were in the movie and not in the book. I can't belive with all the extra time they had they got this so wrong. I don't see how they can recover without major rewrites for Deathly Hallows also.

While it left out a lot of parts in the book--or even recreated the scenes in a completely different place from the book--it was an EXCEPTIONAL movie experience! I genuinely enjoyed this installment, and found that while I haven't read the book in a few years I still enjoyed the scenes I remembered. The discrepancies with the book weren't as severe as I thought they would originally be (it IS a rather huge volume to attempt to fit within a very limited time-frame). All in all, the BEST of the movies so far.

I thought that this movie has been the best one yet of the series. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I was so happy with how much they actually included in the movie. I was a little disappointed with the end, but then again, because it is sort of a cliff hanger ending, it just draws me in more and makes me even more excited for the seventh. I'll probably end up seeing this movie at least one more time in theaters.. :)

i thought this movie was amazing! it was scary at moments and really funny. i thought it was great that they added comedy to parts that weren't funny in the book. i was amazed by this movie and it is my fav. i would recomend this to everyone! the only thing was of course they couldn't put every detail from the book into the movie, but i think they should have put more info in. they should have put more info in just to make u understand and care more. also in the book harry was like obsessing over draco and snape, cause he was sure they were up to no good together. even tho they didn't have that u still understood what was going on. i think they did an amazing job on this movie!

While the movie does not stay entirely true to the book, with there being fabricated scenes, it still captivates the audience. Being a fan of both the books and the movies, I found myself perfectly content with the good balance of humor and emotional scenes. The transitions were perfect, and surprisingly, we get a lot more scenes with Draco Malfoy, which I assumed they would shorten. The scenes of happiness transitioning to Harry's grave visits with Dumbledore worked perfectly, and I almost wished the movie was much longer. It didn't feel like a two and a half hour movie.

I wish there was more of the interactions b/w HP and Dumbledore. There should have Also, I felt that the movie didn't really show the true insensitivity of Ron toward Hermoine. It just made him look clueless and it made her look like a lovesick puppy. Hermoine was more angry than anything and I felt that the movie could have done a much better job conveying that sentiment.

Never been to a Harry Potter film where there wasn't cheers and applause of approval at the end of the movie...until now. I mostly heard grunts and a few "THAT'S IT??"
I remember many more exciting parts in the book that would have translated much better on film than what ended up in the final version. What happened to the good witches? They seemed incredibly unprepared and unorganized (we we all know was not the case).
Lack of good book material apart, the film LANGUISHED and i found myself rolling my eyes many times while watching this movie.
You ought to see it if you are already committed to the series. If not, don't bother.

I was actually pretty happy with the movie. It was of course not as good as the book, but it was one of the better movies so far. I think it gave more clues to what is coming than what we got in the book..... Overall i would for sure recommend it, it was funny, exciting, and just plain fun!

The only major thing that I didn't like about the movie was the somewhat anti-climactic scene in which Dumbledore is killed. Other than that scene, I thought the rest of the movie really captured the essence of the book. Yes, there were scenes that had to be cut out in order to make the movie an appropriate length of time, but I was satisfied with the extensive amount of important scenes there were in the movie from the book. As always, the characters were spot-on. What the movie lacks in "action" it makes up for in humor! I feel that the humorous aspect of the movie helped take the angsty/intense edge that the book had, but included those moments at the appropriate times.

Overall I really liked this movie. I was slightly dissapointed that they didn't have the epic battle at the end of the movie, but that's ok. A lot of people may be angry that it didn't stick straight to the book, but hey, it's a movie and movie versions of books almost always differ. Also in my opinion this was much better than the past Harry Potter movies (other than 1 and 2). All in all if you're looking for the movie to be exactly like the book you will be disapointed but if you are just looking for a good movie I think you will thoroughly enjoy it.

It's been a long time coming, but he's Back, Not Arnold, but Daniel and the crew in the next installment of Harry Potter. I enjoyed the movie as part of the movie storyline it was done in the fashion we have come to know. Movies of late have differed from the books and here no different. The major events are captured and the story flows very well. One outstanding preformance is Malfoy. It's brilliant seeing him getting deserved screentime. A funny quote from Harry! Since the scenes I didn't like were mostly approved by J.K. Rowling herself, I am happy! I would totally recommend this to all my friends! Cast and crew members that made HP & the prev. movies have completely made me fall in love with the cast & I am forever happy that they are continuing this book series until the very end! I doubt I would have much of an imagination of fantasy! Fun watchin the movies & seein everybody come together again & make a movie that won't ever be forgotten! Humor, adventure, romance are probably what the main themes throughout this whole film. DEFINITELY WORTH 2 HOURS & 33 MINUTES!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I thought it was the best out of all the movies in the series. The acting was beyond what each character has shown before, and I was impressed. Yes, things were left out and things from the 7th book were included, but I truly enjoyed watching it and it had great comedic and sad moments which the book was like.

THIS WAS FANTASTIC. The actors just keep getting better and better in every movie. The storyline went well, the book is so long and I think they did a great job of including the most they could. Draco was particularly good. This movie also included a lot more comedy than some of the other HP movies and the audience was dying laughing. Rupert and Daniel are hilarious =D I can't wait to see this a couple more times in theatres. It's funny, dramatic, and action-packed. If you are an HP fan, you'll LOVE it.

I really enjoyed this movie. I felt like it was more of your typical movie rather than part of a sequence of movies, it had it's love stories, drama, action, etc. While the majority of the movie was awesome, I was disappointed by the end. In the book there was a decent battle scene and Dumbledore's funeral, but they skipped both of those scenes, and I thought they were fairly important. It was overall, a good movie though, well worth 4 hours of waiting

Honestly, I have been a HUGE HP fan for years. I was really looking forward to this film as HBP was one of my favorite books in the series, however, while they had plenty of the romance and relationship development, they totally cut out a majority of the action that was promised in the books. I would still recommend it to everyone. Those who haven't read the books might understand things a bit better if you read it along with going to the film.
