As a fan of the books and a non-fan of the first movie, I have to say New Moon was a HUGE improvement from Twilight! It wasn't cheezy, it had great effects and camera shots. The characters were great, the wolves looked awesome. It was just amazing, especially in comparison to Twilight. The new director did an AMAZING job!

Really captured the essence of the book

The only major thing that I didn't like about the movie was the somewhat anti-climactic scene in which Dumbledore is killed. Other than that scene, I thought the rest of the movie really captured the essence of the book. Yes, there were scenes that had to be cut out in order to make the movie an appropriate length of time, but I was satisfied with the extensive amount of important scenes there were in the movie from the book. As always, the characters were spot-on. What the movie lacks in "action" it makes up for in humor! I feel that the humorous aspect of the movie helped take the angsty/intense edge that the book had, but included those moments at the appropriate times.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
