This movie was aptly named. It is definitely a dark movie, delving into the dark side of many characters besides Batman. Impressive explosions and car flips and chases make this an exciting flick to watch. Glad to see that the end is not "happily ever after.

Unlike most of the summer blockbusters that assume big names and loud explosions are all that's necessary to entertain, The Dark Knight is a solid and well rounded movie that uses all available tools to create something exciting and artistic. Able to be thrilling and almost frightening without having to rely on sheer goriness. I'm convinced this is how the batman saga is meant to be seen.

WOW!!!THat was a great movie.It is the best Batman movie ever made. The Joker was amazing. Two-Face was very cool and scary. Michelle Gyllinhaal didnt play Rachel as good as Katie Holms. It was a real shame in not being able to see her in this movie. Christian Bale, best Batman ever. Heath Ledger, best Joker ever. Aaron Eckhart, best Two-Face. This movie was so good I think I may go back and see it again.

"The Dark Knight" is successful in creating the sinister ,chaotic universe known as Gotham City , and awards The Joker--super performance by the late Heath Ledger-- the current title as "Evil Personified" (rivalling that of Hannibal Lecter). The scene in a hospital featuring a conversation between The Joker & Harvey Dent/ Two-Face is a splendid bit of dark humor!
Though the flaws include too long a running-time ,viewing it at the cinema is recommended rather than wait for the subsequent dvd/blu-ray edition.

This was a fun exciting movie. I jumped in my seat twice! Closed my eyes once so I couldn't see( but watched anyway). I liked all of the characters and the plot was interesting. Thanks for a good time.

Yes, though it was extremely obvious that Batman Begins was just the beginning, we are finally brought evidence it was. Christopher Nolan returns to give us the smash hit, dont get up for restroom, or drinks movie of the decade 2000. Batman takes his vigilanteism
to the next level when a new DA, as well, as an intense get what I want ruthless criminal known as the Joker, rise above the defensless infrastructure of Gotham city. Chaos and suspense is on the horizon when The Joker threatens the Gotham Populace,and DA Harvey Dent goes above the law. Now its up to Batman, and commisoner Gordon to hold the balance between a disastrous Gotham ,and a not so bad city of crime.

Very well written, directed, acted and edited. Storyline was well planned and executed. Keith Ledger deserves the Oscar. Christian Bale is the best BM in this long series.
The length is a little long. It makes it's point, then repeats it (which is ok), and then again and again. Five times! I looked at my watch about 2 hrs. 10 mins. into the show. I can't say it is on my list of top ten of all time. Nonetheless, see it on the big screen. It is worth the price, and you will enjoy the experience.

The story is engaging. The actors are right on the mark, many familiar faces - check the credits for names you will know. The effects are amazing. Christian Bale does good work and Heath Ledger was outstanding. Once again Morgan Freeman gave us a wonderful performance.

I'm just going to echo the comments I've seen here that this is an outstanding movie. Ledger does deserve all Oscar consideration for his performance. His Joker is simply amazing. That performance is one of the best I've seen in a long time. The film itself is extremely good, and one I would consider seeing in on the big screen again (like the IMAX if I can talk someone into it!). Getting the DVD is not even debatable.
I have to put this at the top of my list of films of the year. And I'm not even a Batman fan, just a fan of good, well made films. This was one of those.

waste of money ,time and effort. mind-numbingly dumb and predictable plot. foolish stunts and zero charisma from any of the actors. the entire audience looked dumbfounded as we exited.
the only thing on target was the title- it truly was a "dark night" afterall. we would have been better off spending the money @ the gas station!

If The Dark Knight were one hour shorter it might have been interesting but at 2 1/2 it is repetitive and boring. The plot becomes confused and hard to follow and the performances start to wear as thin as Heath Ledger's clown face. There is ultimately something wrong with a film that produces merely yawns when it should be wows! I saw it at a NYC 42nd St theater that was full of teenagers and believe me, they weren't enthralled.

This movie was great, awesome, fun, brilliant, and the closest iv'e seen to perfect this year. A brilliant ensemble of cast deliver nonstop action mixed with an intense story. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker transcends into one of the most memorable movie characters of all-time. Directing by Christopher Nolan introduces an enjoyable experience to the comic book movie genre. This movie is perfect in my eyes. I didn't even have to mention performances by Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, ,Morgan Freeman, and the notorious Christian Bale. If you have seen it, go again. If you haven't participated in cinema history yet, go see the Dark Knight at first opportunity. This movie is part of cinema history.

Dark Knight is to long, about 40 minutes could have been cut out and it would have been a better movie. You got tired of it before it was over. I would tell a friend that it was ok but also tell them it was to long.

Make no mistake - Heath Ledger is fantastic in this movie. This would have propelled him into the same league as Johnny Depp found when he took on the Captain Jack role.
I couldn't help finding it very sad watching such a talent playing an amazing role.
Go see the movie - very well made, violent but not graphic violence and a good (if not great) storyline.
But most of all - go see the Joker. Without a doubt the best "baddie" of the last 20 years.
