I didn't really know what to expect with this film. I loved Batman Begins but it was soooo slow and I was kind of expecting this movie to be the same way. NOT AT ALL! People were dying within the first fifteen minutes! I thought that maybe people were just hyping up Leger's performance because of his death but it was by far some of the best acting I have EVER seen! I totally believed he was insane! I don't care how much time you don't have, go see this movie! You will not regret it!

Finally "Dawn" has arrived for the classic comic book hero we all looked up to when we were kids. Batman has been finally portrayed as a serious and creditable superhero that makes us all think... "Maybe I could be batman"
Christopher Nolan totally spins Batman around into a more realistic hero we can all believe in. Unlike superman, Batman is just like you and me, human....yeah he's rich but nonetheless no more immune to disease, pain, emotions, or bleeding, as you and I are.
The "Dark Knight" is an incredible action packed, twisted, disturbing, and violent, at the edge of your seat, with a splash of sick/dark humor, kind of movie, that I have nothing to compare it with. It is easily the best superhero movie EVER! It is hands-down the best movie of the year and one of the best of the century! All the reviews you've read before mine, all the stars you’ve seen it receive, all the predications to sweep the Oscars, are totally true and are deserved for this movie. Not a single Con can be found in this movie, other than maybe that it's 2 and half hours. But honestly, you won't even notice the time because it movies pretty smoothly throughout. It’s constantly changing moods and direction and you never know what’s going to happen. There are effects in this movie you will wonder how they even thought of or pulled off, its truly original and very well choreographed throughout; just plain amazing.
All the characters in the movies develop quite nicely. Everyone kind of had their own little back ground and piece of the puzzle that made this movie so complex and twisted. The performances by all the actors/actresses we're perfect. Even the smallest parts played we're right on the money, creating great chemistry with everyone. Of course the movie does mainly belong to Heath Ledger as "The Joker". Let me just say...although he is the absolutely last person we would all ever think of to perform Jokers part, Heath Ledger is the absolute perfect actor they could have ever cast for his role. An unbelievable and often scary/disturbing performance by him. So real and so perfect the way he laughs, smiles, talks, walks. Everything about the Joker was portrayed exactly as it should have been years ago with the older batman series. He makes Jack Nicholson look like a clown, a complete joke haha lets say, compared to this performance and portrayal of The Joker. Heath stayed completely in character the whole movie and was impossible to remember or realize he even had a British accent. Just because he died is NOT the reason they will give him an Oscar for best actor, they've been saying this before he died, and he truly deserves it. Anyone who continues to think otherwise is pretty ignorant about movies/film as well as the talent of acting. Ledger was truly born to act and it’s a shame we can't see him again.
There is no question that when you are finished reading my review, you should definitely go and buy some tickets already. Trust me there is nothing to worry about.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, if not "The Best". Maybe a little to long however it is very well worth it. An excellent combination of action, special effects and great acting talent. Heath Ledger was great in his role as "The Joker", truly a loss to the craft. Christan Bale was excellent, he displays the same traits as the comic book hero, strong, vibrant yet sensitive. I like the way it ended with the hero bearing the burden just like the comic book. Worth veiwing again and again, I'll be adding this movie to my collection. This movie makes you think about how things have become in society and why heroes are needed in fantasy and reality. Do not debate it, see the movie, you will not regret it.

I know everyone loves this movie and I expected to love it too; but blowing up things does not a movie make. There were too many stunts and not enough story. I don't think Christian Bale was even in it all that much. The plot, which is pretty important in this movie because it is bringing Batman to a new low, was very hard to follow. The highlights for me was seeing Aaron Eckhart's out of the box performance and seeing more of Gary Oldman (always great), than I'd seen in recent years. But those human moments, so essential to not only action movies, but to comic-book hero movies were missing. Too bad.

This movie was definitely worth the wait and the hype surrounding it, and I absolutely loved it. The story and the overall development of the characters and the plot line had a much deeper meaning and potency than compared to the other films.
Director Christopher Nolan, in my opinion wanted to make this story a realistic and more believable to the point where the audience has a good time without disregarding their intelligence. I would definitely want to see this movie again, and I highly recommend this film.

The Dark Knight is by far one of the greatest movies i have ever seen! This movie is not just a comic book/Superhero movie it is just as good as any thriller, suspense, or drama! I never thought i would be on the edge of my seat the entire movie considering it's predecessor, Batman Begins! Christopher Nolan has reinvented the Batman franchise and put it in a league of it's own and has set the bar extremely high in the sense of villains. The Joker is truly sadistic and scary, by far the greatest villain i have seen yet!!! This movie is excellence!!! The best word to describe it is chaotic (of course in the best way)!!! Director Christopher Nolan and these fine actors such as Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman put on a performance so excellent that this movie will no doubt go down in the history books!!! SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

This movie had a very different from the style from the first one. Instead of the relaxing action movie with a drop of humor and engaging plot, the Dark Knight came out full force with a sinister mood brought on by Heath Ledger's flawless performance as the joker. The focus of the story shifts off the Batman, emphasizing the perturbing effects of the joker's schemes (though he claims he doesnt scheme he just "does" things) on the city of Gotham. Also, do not look for the typical stealthy Batman assault as this movie has a greater variety of action, suspense, and maniacal laughter that has little time for the Dark Knight to take over all the screen time. It may be an epic movie that blows everything this year out of the water, but it is difficult to get through, for some, especially a second time.

I am now convinced Christopher Nolan is one of the finest directors of this generation. While much of the buzz surrounding this movie involves Heath Ledger(and deservedly so), Christopher Nolan constructs a beautiful, well laid out backdrop for his actors to shine in front of. A fictional city has never seemed so real. The editing, though a bit frenetic at times, does very well to move the story along, while still providing proper focus on important scenes. The most overlooked aspect of this movie that makes it the best I've seen in several years is the score. The music is perfect and at times so powerful as to be it's own character. And finally are the actors themselves. Ledger is indeed phenomenal, and Bale is proving to be the best Batman/Bruce Wayne yet. The rest of the cast is fantastic, no weak link to point to. I certainly hope this movie garners the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Musical Score, and Best Actor nods it deserves, and hopefully it will win a few as well.

Finally a movie full of wit, action and plot. the movie goer is use to figuring out the plot. The industry has a a way of recycling themes.
Dark Knight strays from the concept of the two colour focus of either black and white and blends in a lot of greys. Why is it important to do this? Well in the time we live in nothing is reassuring by creature standards. Our motives are questionable and the Dark Knight's script exposes the creatures we truly can be by fear.
It is so easy to cross the invisible line of good and bad. One move can bind us to the choice we make, and for some that choice will form us mentally. Some may repent and some may cling to what is truly that deep voice inside us instead of the small calming voice whispering in our ear. And by that some will be led or lead others to their doom or show us the path of righteous. Based on what we form as truth.
He is a movie that reflects our times. The direction we could go. There are many standing in the shadows ready to be the Joker always wildly chuckling and there are many of us wanting to play the role of the bat, without thinking what the bat is made of a blend of many shades. And God help those who are fighting the demon while representing the good.
Enjoy the movie. Wonder about the gadgets and don't be afraid to give a few "Yeah!," to the screen, the visual effects will leave you breathless.

Of all the Batman films, I think Dark Knight is hands down the best of the bunch. Accessible to both comic fans and the average moviegoer, the film presents Batman as a character in a larger drama, not just an extension of the comic book. The action is well done and the story provides tension and drama. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good movie, not just a good comic book movie.

i'm a lifelong batman fan (don't want to show my age but i used to watch it on tv with adam west and burt ward...) the movie was great maybe a little scary for young kids...ok for teenagers...i'll take mine to see it. i'm not sure exactly when the joker became such a psycho sociopath but heath ledger was incredible in the role...

For those looking for a simple popcorn, summer fun movie, with action and a happy ending story, Batman Dark Knight is NOT for you.
This is the most serious superhero movie I have ever seen.
It could have easily been rated R. There are many tense moments of upcoming violence, but very few ever are shown. Its the suspense and anticipation of the violence, or evil act, that will have you on the edge of your seat.
I would NOT recommend this movie for children under 13 even if they are with an adult.
For the serious movie goer, this is a very well acted, thought provoking movie.
I recommend everyone see it. Its the best movie this year.

Lots of action to hold your interest in a 2 and 1/2 hour movie. Would have liked to see more Bat Toys and a finished Bat Cave but it followed the first movie so it is expected the Bat Cave is not rebuilt yet. Bale, Cane and Oldman were great and they fit the parts the best yet. Ledger was great too. So sad he is gone his acting in the interagation room was great. Bring back Bale, Cane and Oldman in the next movie. Good use of time to see the movie.

it was the hottes movie of this year at least for me and for those that went to see it with me...heath ledger was an awasome joker that made me laught all the movie long..being that i am a theater major i wish i would some day be able to do a character like this one.. i would recommend it to everyone that want to have a funny dark night at the theater
