epic, but requires a lot of emotional tolerance.

This movie had a very different from the style from the first one. Instead of the relaxing action movie with a drop of humor and engaging plot, the Dark Knight came out full force with a sinister mood brought on by Heath Ledger's flawless performance as the joker. The focus of the story shifts off the Batman, emphasizing the perturbing effects of the joker's schemes (though he claims he doesnt scheme he just "does" things) on the city of Gotham. Also, do not look for the typical stealthy Batman assault as this movie has a greater variety of action, suspense, and maniacal laughter that has little time for the Dark Knight to take over all the screen time. It may be an epic movie that blows everything this year out of the water, but it is difficult to get through, for some, especially a second time.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
