Best Joker ever. Great Harvey Dent. Batman doesn't do anything in this movie that's particularly memorable, but overall it was written very well and was entertaining. Girls all seem to like it cause it's more story driven and because it's got some hot guys in it. I wouldn't say it was better than the original Superman but I would say it was slightly better than Iron Man and most certainly better than all the Xmen and Spiderman films.

Take away the amazing performance by The Joker and the movie was a drag in my opinion. Batman on the other hand didn't seem like a natural role for Bale. Just as he forced his voice while dressed as Batman, his role was forced throughout. Wait for it on DVD.

I went to the movie partially worried the hype was overdone. Balderdash and poppycock. This is one of the exceedingly rare times a comic book/graphic novel-based action/adventure movie transcended its genre and increased the criteria by which others of its ilk will eternally be judged. Having seen and thoroughly enjoyed Iron Man a few times, I was mentally self-prepped for more of the same romp-n-stomp screenplay and visual effects. Christopher Nolan and his crew have every right to take a bow for this one. To say Heath Ledger submerged himself in the Joker role is an understatement. The performance he rendered will certainly live long in the annals of Hollywood lore. Even without his performance, the movie was fine fare. Ledger's immersion into the character's depravity took the finished product to another, totally unexpected level. Aaron Eckhart's turn as Harvey 'Two Face' Dent was good and appropriately supportive of the principal characters, and Christian Bale's reprisal of the Batman further enhanced his entrenchment as one of Hollywood's current A-list leading men. My only question now is: Where the heck do they go from here for the (rumored) next installment? If I'm one of the high muckity-mucks of Warner Brothers, I'd give serious consideration to leaving well enough alone, and let this franchise end here - On top of the world.

Best movie in years......
I was scared to let myself believe the hype that I had heard about The Dark Knight. Everything that was said is so true and more. The storyline was great and all things fit so well.

This was superb. The best Batman movie, and one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The plot is thick and enjoyable, the characters are twisted, human and highly interesting. The Dark Knight takes on a different life than the rest of the Comic Book movies. This is an amazing direction for Comic Book movies. Three Cheers for Nolan. And, the best part, Ledger. Some of the Best acting done since James Dean. It was mind blowing. He was Terrifying, but you couldn't look away, he holds your focus so well. All his choices were so interesting and orginial for the Joker. He deserves his Oscar

Energetic, relatively realistic, shocking. This movie is artfully done, and the characters in it are amazing, and they pull you in. It makes the original comic proud. I love how The Dark Knight doesn't try to wow the popular audience with over the top special effects.

This movie was excellent. Didn't mind having to sit in the front of the theater. It was more than worth it !! I wish all productions were consistently like this. Then it would be worth the cost of going to the movies. Looking forward to the next one...

Incredible! Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was insane, mind boggling, and perfect in his final performance. He will be missed. Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart's both nailed the dual personalities of their characters while Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine brought a much needed humor to a unpredicable and entertaining movie. A Must See!

The dark knight definitely lived up to the expectations and the hype. The movie had the right amount of action and angst. The cast was amazing but of course the standout performance goes to Heath Ledger. As the Joker, Ledger had me jumping out of my seat in fear and laughing at his jokes. While funny at many points the dark knight was insightful. A great all-around movie and even better in imax. definitely worth the wait.

Not for the kiddies! I was really scared of the Joker!! Heath Ledger did an awesome job of making you laugh yet sending chills up your spine at the same time. The movie had the gotham city darkness you would expect...so not one you would want to take a child under the age of 13 to. Christian Bale could not be a better leading man playing the Dark Knight. He was just great. Maggie was good...but I would have liked to see Katie Holmes back. Movie was very thrilling and you never knew exactly what to expect next. Would want to see again...lots of murmuring amongst the bad guys in parts. But, no worries, you always understood the plan. But, overall best movie in a long while. Ironman makes a close second.

I think my title says it all. The Dark Knight is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I've already seen it twice (in it's first week out) and I plan on seeing it a third time. This time in IMAX. By the way, The Joker of The Dark Knight puts to shame The Joker of the original Batman.......sorry Jack, Heath is the man. I only wish that Mr. Ledger was around to see how much everyone loves this film. The theater was packed and people were applauding. GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT!!!

I have a short attention span, but this movie had my attention all the way. I found myself clapping for the villan. Wonderful expressions, make up, and he fit the part perfect. He was, like they said in the movie, a dog on a leash.

I went into this movie with high expectations and they were definitely met. Great plot. Great acting. Great special effects. I could go on and on.
If you haven't seen this yet, I would recommend catching it on the big screen for the full effect. I am a pretty big movie buff and might have to put this in my top 5 all time, at least in comparison to other action movies.
Also, this movie is pretty intense and is quite "dark" so don't get fooled by the PG-13 rating.

Followed the movie until the last 30 minutes. The music, however good, over powered the voice and my wife and I lost the story and the conclusion. Sorry to say we missed the real meaning in the ending.

I think that the two Batman movies with Christian Bale are the best that have been made. I think that after this movie Heath Ledger could have chosen any role he wanted because his performance gave me chills. I love the entire cast and hope that there will be a third installment. I took my teenage sons and we all three enjoyed every part of this movie.

This movie exceeded all expectations. I didn't want to see the movie but my husband did so I went anyway. I loved the movie so much that now I want to buy the movie when it comes out. Never a dull moment and full of action. Ledger was the best actor I have seen in ages.

Other than being a bit too long, it was a very good film as I expected. Heath Ledger should definately get an Oscar nod for his performance. I liked how some of the scenes switched from one to another.

Intense, twisting of plot and characters. The Joker was played better than it ever has been, without the patronizing of Mr Ledger ( a loss). Gary Oldman was very convinceing as Commissioner Gordan. Aaron Eckhart was wonderful as Harvey. Christian Bale was the darkest Batman yet and played it well. Beautiful on the screen and well produced...
In all, I would recommend to anyone over 14 or 15.

Wow. Heath Ledger definitely took the show in this one. Maggie Gyllenhaal was good too. I think Michael Caine made the perfect Alfred Pennyworth. Christian Bale made a good Bruce Wayne---in short, this movie was well casted. (:

This is the best Batman movie made so far and Heath Ledger was incredible as the Joker! The special effects were fantastic and kept you on the edge of your seat. It isn't a kids' movie and I don't think it's appropriate for anyone under age 10. It's definitely the best movie I've seen in a long time.
