This movie was awesome!! Special effects, action, acting, storyline, etc... were all great! Heath Ledger (R.I.P.) was absolutely fantastic as Joker. You will not be disappointed with this movie. It is a little more graphic than past Batman movies, so leave the younger children home.

This was the best movie ever ! The acting was superb ! Very intense, nail biting, non-stop action. I would recommend this movie to anyone. My husband thought it was great !

I wouldn't listen to the overly exaggerated hype about this movie, with the exception of Ledger's performance as Joker. He was incredible! The movie however, did NOT live up to the hype. It was your typical action movie, only extremely long. The movie was not bad, but it definitely was not what people are calling the best movie in years, of all time, etc. It is a take it or leave it, unless you want to be wooed by Heath's performance!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

"Do you want to see the pencil dissapear?" Only one of the Joker's dark one liners, but this one set the tone for the rest of the movie. If you're children are expecting to see Kung Fu Panda, then I would find a babysitter and avoid the potential nightmares you may have to contend with. This movie is definitely for adults only. Action throughout ..not much of a chance to grab a bag of popcorn between lines. Fantastic performance by Heath Ledger, my that guy could act!. Don't miss it, if you haven't seen it yet. You won't be disappointed.

This was a jam-packed action movie AND a study of evil. Heath Ledger's Joker may be the most evil movie character EVER. But the movie was about how evil we all must become to STOP someone like that. The answer is: pretty damn bad.
The best movies are, yes, like onions. This one had several interesting layers in a good story.

In a word WOW!. Any movie that an audience applauds DURING the movie has to be good. Same goes for a line in the MEN's bathroom afterwards. I thought it was great, it could have ben longer, it could have been shorter, either way, it worked. Story driven, great script, great performances from all involved, and yes, Heath Ledger should get an Oscar Nomination.

This movie lived up to the hype, especially Heath Ledger's performance. Supporting cast and Bale were terrific with one exception. Maggie Gyllenhall is a good actress, but she was a bad fit for that character. Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron would have been perfect. Only other complaint was legth of movie. Dragged on about 15 minutes too long. Too much plot repeat at the end. Still, a must see. And the parking lot where I saw the movie was packed for 5 straight hours on a Tuesday!

Hype can often ruin movies. It seems that in the last few years things have grown to such a fevered pitch around certain "blockbusters" that there could never be a way for the movie to live up to its expectations...
The Dark Knight has found a way to live up to, and surpass, all the hype. Just the performances of Bale, Ledger, Cain, Eckhart and the rest of the incredible cast would push this movie to the top of almost any movie lover's heart. The fact that Ledger cannot reprise his role will be looked at as one of the greatest movie tragedies of all time. He makes Nicholson's joker look like a party clown, and it's obvious how the character could get into his head.
The story is phenomenal, the script is polished and tight with no irrelevant or superfluous scenes, and the settings, props, and cinematography is top notch.
This movie should get no less than five stars from anyone who considers themselves knowledgeable about film. One of the greatest films in the last 20 years, hands down.

Usually batman has sort of the same thing happen every time, like every hero movie, and you fall in love with the hero. For me and most of my friends the Joker was who we fell in love with. Everyone could tell that he studied the part. He gave this character certain mannerisms that made the character come alive. Everyone in the cast made this movie special. Each one gave it a little something unique. Make-up(special effects) was impeccable. Fight scenes amazing! This movie was worth every penny. I am considering going to see it again. That is why i think you should go see it too.

I thought this movie was overratted by the ads and press. I went to see it and it was like WOW!
I was impressed with Bale's role with Batman but Heath Ledger stole the show with his role as the Joker. If you can see it through the IMAX theatre. Either way it was definitely worth the money and the time(it was long!)

i saw the dark knight on opening night, and again last night with my father-in-law...the second viewing was even better...knowing what was coming i was able to pay more attention to the score (which is exquisite), all the dialogue and the faster action sequences...all in all, this movie is the complete package...were it not for the bat suit, the make-up and scared faces, this would be an excellent urban crime drama, full of dirt and grit...add in the afore mentioned elements and you get a masterpiece melding of fantasy and reality, small-time crime and large-scale mayhem...the acting, direction, sets, cinematography, score, everything about this movie works, and works well...

I wanted to see this right away and thought the first couple Batman movies were "fair", but I fell for the Hype and hoped it wouldn't blow...
This movie was far and away the BEST movie in the Batman saga and so far the BEST Action movie this summer!!

Heath Ledger was incredible, he was just over the top. I found myself being somewhat bored when he wasn't on screen. I liked Christian Bale, but his voice as Bat Man grated on me. I thought it was about a half hour too long.
Glad I saw it, but wouldn't see it again.

Found it to be overblown and a soulless exercise in mega budget film making. Over written and under conceived. Looked like they spent more money w/ negligent emotional effect. As hopeless a film as the Iraq War. As wasteful as a defense contract. Desultory in the extreme and could not wait for it to end. Am doing my best to purge from my memory as quickly as possible.
