I didn't see this movie for Batman. The only reason I saw this movie was because I was curious about Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker--and I was not disappointed. The Joker can easily be my favorite villain after this performance. It's a shame Heath is not here to receive all of the accolades for his outstanding performance. The movie itself was enjoyable--all 2 1/2 hours of it. It held my interest from start to finish. Go see it--you won't be disappointed.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Unbelievable. Heath Ledgers performance makes the film. At first it may seem like it does not or will not live up to the hype, but believe me it does. I don't think I have ever seen a film role where the actor is SO far gone into the part that you don't recognize him at all.

This movie was great! The acting couldn't have been better. I heard a DJ on the radio say that they thought that it was too bad that the name of the movie wasn't " The Joker" and that Heath Ledger should have been the leading actor as opposed to the supporting one. And I couldn't agree more. I love Jack Nicholson as much as the next person but Heath took this role and recreated it into something spectacular and will be the "Joker" to me from now on. This is a must see movie!!!!!

Heath Ledger was excellant in TDK, went too soon, but I think not enough people are talking about Bale's performance, he was great as well. That said, its not for the younger crowd, but everyone else should see it.

Right on par with Bale's first Batman. Good lines, good shots. More surprises. A lot of story lines made it a bit too long. Worth seeing for even the non-Batman fans because of the Joker. Ledger's performance was unbelievable.

On several levels, this is an awesome movie. Heath Ledger is in top sinister form as the Joker, but Christian Bale's and Gary Oldman's acting chops are used too little. Loved the explosions, the amazing makeup, the dark humor breaking tension a bit, the non-stop action. A nail-biter at times, but some things that should have been a surprise were not-so-subtly revealed early on. Aaron Eckhart did his usual solid job, and Maggie Gylenhall (sic) was satisfactory as the love interest. Although I wish the fight scenes had been a bit more lighted, nonetheless, this was a movie that one could see many times over and not tire of. Highly recommended, but much too intense for the very young.

Like a lot of people, I was skeptical about the movie from all the hype following Heath Ledger's death. I'm a big fan of Tim Burton's Batman Movies and Batman Begins was just okay for me, but I found The Dark Knight to be absolutely awesome. I could wathch it over and over again. The complete cast gave incredible performances and Heath Ledger truly gave the performance of his life. His Joker character was truly amazing. Don't let this one pass you by.... it's a must see in the theater.

I was afraid the hype might cause the movie to fall short for me but that wasn't the case at all! Even at 2 1/2 hours it kept your attention the whole time and the characters were amazing. Everyone did a phenominal job. A lot of depth to the characters and a great story line in addition to all of the action and special effects. Everyone must see this movie. I'm not into many of the super hero movies but this one I will be buying to watch over and over!!

I thought Heath Ledger was absolutely awesome. I took the whole family-even though most reviewers thought it was too dark for children. My grandkids loved it. My husband and son-in-law loved it too. It was maybe just a bit long but as long as the Joker was on the screen I wanted to see more

I have seen nearly every movie made from a comic book since the early 80's. The Dark Knight is without a doubt the best one to date. I don't see how it could be topped. Every actor did a solid job playing their role. Batman and The Joker have never been so well done.

Hands down, Heath Ledger was the best Joker yet. He was the most creepy, evil villian, yet at times also quite funny. This was also the most suspenseful and unpredictable Batman movie.

I thought this was overall a very good movie. However it had been talked up so much that I was left a little unsatisfied. Heath Ledger does a very good job as the Joker however his recent death made it a little hard to get into his acting. Overall one of the best movies in a LONG time though.

I had heard a lot of early reviews hailing this as a great movie with an oscar worthy performance from Heath Ledger. I love the new rendition of the Batman series so I was excited to see it. My expectations were greatly exceeded. It is a very unique movie in that it is an action movie that has a deep and meaningful plot and storry with an awesome cast of extremely talented actors. And then we meet the Joker. And Heath Ledger's performance is so incredible. The thing about the Joker is that you immediately think of Jack Nicholson playing the role of a bad guy who's bad and he runs a group of criminals but hes never really scary. Heath Ledger as the Joker is scary. And if you didn't know it was Heath Ledger you wouldn't believe it based on the acting in the movie. To sum up, go see it. It's great. It's very dark. And it's technically PG-13 but its very violent.

This movie was as good as I expected. Just much LONGER! Boy did it drag at the end. Other than that the Dark Knight was an amazing movie. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger did a great job, and the special effects were pretty cool. Two face was neat, too.

I was on the edge of my seat for 2 and a half hours. Heath Ledger as the "Joker" was a performance of a lifetime. He made Jack Nicholson's version look like a circus clown! It was great that the creaters kept to the code from "Batman Begins." Dark, serious, and a real psychological thriller. I will definitely go see this movie again, and again, and again.....

This is by far the best batman movie or comic book movie made! I was very impressed by everyone's performance and the amount of action packed material. I too thought it would disappoint but I was greatly mistaken. Heath Ledger took the joker to a much darker level then I thought he could. The plot and story line kept your attention and surprises just kept coming. I truly hope they make another batman movie. I always hope that Heath Ledger's family is proud of him and remembers the good things he did for film in his tragically short career.

Great movie, action packed, never a dull moment. Went with 9 people ages 7 to 75 and everyone agreed that this was a great movie. Grandma said it was very intense, but she was glad it wasn't as dark on the screen as previous Batman movies.

I loved this movie.
DON'T take the kids; it gets way scary - especially with Harvey Dent in Act Three. Heath Ledger is brilliant as the Joker. My other favorite performance is from Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon.
But the whole movie was fabulous, and this is from a guy who usually hates endings like that. The ending made sense.
The only two problems I have - Christian Bale's "Batman Voice" (Fisherman's Friend would clear that right up) and the idea that the Batman won't kill the Joker, but he willingly causes explosions and car crashes that at some point WILL kill somebody. The law of averages is pretty clear on that point -- but we'll leave that law to Dent.
