Whether you are a fan of Batman and comic book heros or not this film is bound to have you gripping your seat waiting for the next big moment. And you don't have to wait long. This movie is action packed to the brim with comedic lines that help to humanize and bring a realistic tone to the movie. The cast is superb and I expect lots of Academy nods next year. Christian Bale reprising his role as Batman portrays possibly the best version of the character ever. He brings a sense of darkness to this vigilante. Heath Ledger as the twisted Joker makes your skin crawl and wishing that he could reprise the role as well. When it comes to Rachel, Maggie Gyllenhal did a better job as the Assistant DA than her predecessor Katie Holmes. This movie will leave you awake and ready to watch it again. This movie does not disappoint!

This was by far one of the best movie I have ever seen. Christian Bale did an excellent job portraying the part of Bruce Wayne and I cannot tell you how amazed I was at Heath Ledger's performance as the joker. He was not only creepy, but he kept the audience laughing and on the edged of their seats. It was definitely his best performance and a great way to end his career. RIP Heath. <3

Everything you would hope for in a Batman movie! Christian Bale plays his role well as always and Heath Ledger does an amazing job as the joker. The movie ran a bit lengthy, but overall is was worth it.

Just as all the critics have said, this is probably Heath Ledgers greatest movie. Although, he does not overshadow the rest of the cast. It was a long movie, but it kept your attention the entire 2 1/2 hours. The entire storyline is true to the Batman story and idea. It was even better than Batman Begins!

Bale's Batman continues a great franchise. Ledger captured who Joker really is and what drives him. Fantastic action scenes that didn't overpower the story. And a story that didn't drown out the action. Can't wait for the next installment!!

From beginning to end this movie does not disappoint. Ledger was an absolutely amazing Joker which had me laughing, had me guessing and more importantly had me captivated.
Bale is an extraordinary Batman and the plot of this movie was gripping. I will watch this movie again (and again and again) in the near future.

It was action packed, the storyline was great and the acting was amazing. I was afraid people were just talking about Heath Ledger's performance because of his unfortunate passing but he was perfect as the joker. Too bad he is not around to enjoy all the praise he deserves. Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart are great as well the titular Dark Knight Christian Bale, though his voice when he's dressed as Batman needs a little less gruffness and maybe some lozenges, but the movie was still great. If the Oscars weren't so biased i would say it deserved some Oscar nominations (and i'm not just talking about awards for background settings or cinematograpghy). If you're a batman fan, you will not want to miss this and if you love great movies (not good, great) then you should check it out.

Creepy, amazing, action packed, shocking, funny, the words I could use to describe this outstanding movie could go on and on but suffice to say it is the best movie I've seen this year and possibly the best comic book movie ever, beating out Sin City (on my personal best list).
I don't want to spoil anything so I won't explain the key moments of mention or ramble on about how great the performances were, especially the late Heath Ledger's Joker, but it was an amazing movie and I say, go see it.
(And, for those who get this, the preview trailer for Watchmen proceeds the film and that movie looks even more incredible.)

While the plot may have had a few holes, the acting was incredible. Christian Bales and Heath Leger made the whole movie for me! I was impressed with the pace as well as the camera work. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for a great action flick.

I'm going to go ahead and say this is the defining movie of these several years - it takes the superhero genre to new heights. Not only was it actionpacked, but it was replete with amazing acting, great story, and impeccable direction. Very great movie, best movie I have seen in a while. Heath Ledger was amazing. He nailed that character so well and I'm not just saying that because he's dead, he was right on the money, and it's sad to know he's not alive to see the praise he would of got. I recommend that everyone see this movie, the whole movie was very well made and the story was planned well.

Some friends and I went to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight. This movie runs a little long at 2 hrs. 30 min. but if this is your genre you will leave feeling like this was time well spent.

this one blows batman begins out of the water. which is saying something. this definatly puts the dark back into the dark knight. this one is even better than the micheal keaton batman. the joker is one sick puppy. this is definatly one of heath ledger's best performances.

Bale was great, but he seemed a little less passionate about his role this time. Ledger made it virtually impossible for the Joker to be played by anyone else in this generation, as the character could not done any better. The other supporting cast members were excellent as well. Definitely a must see.

This movie was not only worth the price of admission, it was also worth a two hour wait in line on open night.
Heath Ledger was breath taking, his final role is a true tribute to his talent. Joker was phenomenal, Gordon was astounding, Batman almost kept up with the competition (but not quite).
The explosions were amusing, and even if they were not needed, they were FUN.
The plot was dark but perfect. This is a movie for other comic movies to live up to. This is the bar, Spirit and Watchmen, are you up for the challenge of following up The Dark Knight?
I recommend this movie to EVERYONE who wants to see a movie with amazing acting and compelling plot (with a sprinkling of fun effects tossed in).

Good action with a great story line. Everyone was good in it, Bale, Freeman, Ledger, Oldman, Cane! Great cast, only one minor issue- it would have been a little better with Katie Holmes, but she did a very good job filling in

So "The Dark Knight" is in my opinion the best action movie ever. It is a must see. Heath Ledger portrayal of the "Joker" is possible the greatest villain performance ever scene on film. He is like a rabid dog, licking his chops as if feigning for blood. Christian Bale again has strong performance , but is over shadowed by Ledger. In the scene they share there is a great chemistry and both are stronger for it.
My only regret is that I do not know how another batman movie will ever stand up this. The "Joker" is the arch nemesis to batman and after this all other villains will just not hold up to the villainy and pure evil portrayed here.

ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING!! All roles were outstanding but Heath as the Joker most certainly took the show. He nailed the part and really made the joker out to be one of the best and at the same time most twisted and evil villain. in the entire batman saga. I highly doubt anyone else would have been able to do the job he did, Really sad how he was taken from as so soon with such promise in the film industry. I would recommend all to go see this flic.

I loved this movie! I was on the edge of my chair and on an emotional rollercoaster. Heath's last performance was amazing! He really fit the character perfectly. The comic book story was portrayed perfectly as well. Go see this one! It's great!

This movie is a HAVE to see movie if your a batman fan...even if your not a fan you'll still find it entertaining as hell. Heath Ledgers performance was amazing becasue you wouldnt be able to tell it was him in a million years and christian bale was also amazing and might I add smoking hott. I loved the surprise twists and the action was insane. I thought that the ending to the movie was perfect and couldn't have been any other way. PLEASE everyone go see this movie if you already havent! It was absolutely AMAZING.

I thought Ironman was the best comic movie this year. I take that back. Batman is the best comic movie by a mile and 1/2. The fact there were minimal special effects, Joker played the heartless, menacing and spontaneously psychotic serial killer to perfection to make viewers queezy. Batman's raspy and awkwardly intimidating voice was convincing. There was tragedy, comedy, suspense, drama, all in one. Two-Face/Harvey Dent was great. Aaron Eckhart is the man. Commissioner Gordon was perfect. Best movie this year (Comic ones atleast...but best movie this year...).
