This movie was not only worth the price of admission, it was also worth a two hour wait in line on open night. Heath Ledger was breath taking, his final role is a true tribute to his talent. Joker was phenomenal, Gordon was astounding, Batman almost kept up with the competition (but not quite). The explosions were amusing, and even if they were not needed, they were FUN. The plot was dark but perfect. This is a movie for other comic movies to live up to. This is the bar, Spirit and Watchmen, are you up for the challenge of following up The Dark Knight? I recommend this movie to EVERYONE who wants to see a movie with amazing acting and compelling plot (with a sprinkling of fun effects tossed in).
This movie is neither groundbreaking or deep. But who says it has to be? As far as entertainment goes, i would have to say that Get Smart did its job. I was entertained. Spy humor at its funniest, Steve Carell pulled off the role of a absent minded super spy thrust into a dangerous mission with hot spy partner Anne Hathaway. This movie is perfect for a day off work when you are bored and want to kick back and not think.
Hancock is politically incorrect, gruff, and EXACTLY what modern culture wants to see. The plot may be superhuman, but the humor is right on the audiences level. This is a movie to go to if you want to look at the person sitting next to you, ask "did they just really say that?", and then be unable to stop laughing for the rest of the film. The comedy is engaging, and the movie swiftly finishes up with a decent emotive message; which the audience forgives, even enjoys, because the entire body of the film has been so satisfying. Worth the ten dollars of admission, Hancock is sure to please.
