Most blockbuster movies let you down, but not this one. It picks up right where the last one did with it's darkness. Heath Ledger does indeed play the best joker ever. There was a lot of hype coming in about him and I had my doubts he'd be that good, but believe the hype. He lives up to it!

Am a big movie fan, never a huge Batman fan. None of the old ones did much for me, except perhaps parts of the first one. Batman Begins was solid, especially the first half. The film is extremely well written and each character has a lot of depth and intelligence. The love triangle between Rachel, Dent and Wayne/Batman is great. The action scenes are thrilling, Eckhardt is very good as Dent, Maggie G. is an improvement as Rachel, and Bale makes a great Wayne/Batman. Gary Oldman makes for a wonderfully humble Gordon, with the glasses and the moustache. Ledger as the Joker is a classic villain, really sick with the way he plays with the knife, the chilling ventriloquist voice, the lip thing, similar to TBag in Prison Break, and the freaky way he's always a step ahead. It's a fearless performance and worth seeing for that alone. Don't forget Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, who each bring plenty of depth to their parts. Fantastic film.

Ledger in a superb performance as the Joker has made the movie really interesting. Also the gadgets and techniques employed by batman were I thought quite intelligent contraptions/tricks. Nolan has made a good movie and I would say it is a must see in theatre on big screen. So on and all a good movie just a tad too long (2.5hrs)

The movie is awesome. With enough impact to make you want to go back and see some of the action shots. I was hoping for a better feel at IMAX experience but at times it was hard to hear the clarity of the voices. SO, movie great, IMAX not so great.

I cant say it was a bad movie but for all the hype, the great teaser 6min bank robbery(a la Reservoir Dogs, The Getaway). The movie concluded badly with absolutely no resolution, just a continuation. Frankly these types of movies are getting old & tiresome, just like No Country for Old Men. You get the WTF feeling at the end of all these movies. I will not see the next one. I will say the special effects were good, but not a good storyline or plot.

Heath Ledger is by far the best part of this movie. His performance was no holds barred, fearless, frighteningly brilliant. Unfortunately the plot zigs and zags incoherently, relying on tech effects and stunts to move the story forward, and the violence was way over the top (appropriate in a comic, but how the heck they managed to get away with a PG-13 rating for this live action flick is beyond me. This is definitely NOT for kids under 13.). Too bad Christopher Nolan didn't bring the rest of the movie up to Heath Ledger's level.

This was the best Batman movie by far! Heath Ledger was spot on with his portrayal of the Joker, strong performances by Aaron Eckhart and Christian Bale, everything just came together so well. A bit too intense for younger kids (under 12-13 yrs) but great for everyone else.

The movie was decent, however, I don't understand why it has made as much money as it has. Maybe it was successful because of the Heath Ledger death. I thought it was too long, and I don't think they needed two villains. I think they could have picked a better looking love interest.

Always hard to live up to the hype but I did enjoy it overall. Bale's Batman voice is way overdone and distracts from the experience. I had to strain to understand him sometimes and missed a few words. If you are going to see this for cohesive plot you are out of luck. But then, it is a comic, not a drama. It is however, an entertaining flick and worth the money for the big screen visuals and audio. Ledger's part actually does live up to the hype. He was on his game for this.

Phenomenal acting in a super hero movie is truly a rarity. The Dark Knight delivers exactly that in abundance. Intense, enjoyable, and well worth the extra money and travel time to see in IMAX.

This movie definitely lives up to the hype. This movie offers something other comic book films haven't been able to deliver - a solid plot. The Dark Knight is full of twists and turns and has wonderful performances by everyone. Ledger's performance is as good as can be.
I was a little surprised after seeing the film that it is not rated R. It is certainly not for little ones. I'd say 15 and older for sure though. If you do take the young ones, get ready to stay up with them for the next couple of weeks because they absolutely will have nightmares.

I really enjoyed the action and story in this movie. Heath Ledger was phenomenal in this part. It is sad that everytime you watch this movie it will remind you the tragic end to his life. I am sure he will be honored for this part. I do not recommend young children seeing this. I would go see this movie again.

Dark Knight is a very "dark" movie. It is NOT for children. It has an appeal that is mature and witty, yet stays within the Marvel Comics theme. There was never a dull moment in the movie. Each character really stood out. Though the title of the movie suggested that Batman was the star, the real character that captivated the audience (and me) was the JOKER! It was a sad day Heath Ledger died, for he really was a great actor. Overall, the movie is a HIT!

The Dark Night was an amazing movie! A good script and excellent actors make all the difference in these types of movies. Heath Ledger's performance as the joker is incredibly eerily right on. Everyone did a great job, actually. I loved it! You won't be disappointed by this movie. It's fantastic!

I loved Batman Begins and was worried, as with many sequels, that it wouldn't be as good. Gladly, I was wrong. The story for Batman Begins flowed a bit more easily I thought than with The Dark Knight but the action sequences were fantastic and the struggle to maintain the line between good and evil more developed. Heath Ledger should be nominated for an Academy Award. His performance did not disappoint at all. With all the hype I was a bit skeptical about whether he really did that well or was it because of his premature death that his performance was being touted. He did a phenomenal job. It has not been since Peter Finch, that an actor has received an Academy Award posthumously but I hope Heath will be the next. WOW is all I can say.

Ledger made this movie. It's a shame he won't have any more opportunities to have movies like this, but he exceeded my already high expectations of this movie.
I did think that Bale's performance was sub-par. He really brought nothing to the character in this movie. Either he just wasn't that good in this movie, or Ledger out-shone everyone. Freeman , Eckhart, and Caine all delivered solid performances.
I'll definitely be buying this movie when it comes out on DVD.

The movie was creative and stylistic; also unique for the Batman franchise, but over-indulgently too long. Could have been 1/2 hour shorter and the movie would have been perfect. Too many scenes with Gary Oldam's character.....he is just not a compelling character nor did Gary make him interesting. On a shallow note, Maggie G. is not pretty enough to be a leading lady.....she is no Kim Basinger, Nicole Kidman et.....she is a great actress and spunky.......but give us a Scarlett J. or Sienna Miller any day.

I actually had low expectations for this movie because it seems like you are disappointed by so many so-called "blockbuster" movies these days that are released wit hgreat fanfare, etc.
This is a really cool, highly entertaining movie. I wasn't bored for 1 second of the 2.5 hrs. Heath Ledger (so sorry he's gone ..) was incredibly good as Joker. The psychological terrorism reign he puts on Gotham is staggering in its complexity & comprehensiveness. Insane doesn't begin to describe The Joker as Ledger plays him.
Also the character development & relationships between the various principal players was highly developed and subtle. Great script that way ...
Anyway .. my wife & I really enjoyed it. It's one of those movies you go see to beat the heat (in Dallas in July !) and you come out feeling like you got terrific value for your $10 (at NorthPark, AMC, Dallas).

I am just gushing to everyone about this movie. From beginning to end, it is near perfection. The story, the sets, the wardrobe, the actors. Everything was spot on. I couldn't take my eyes off of Heath Ledger as the Joker. Genius. I didn't want the scenes with him to end. But the other scenes were magnificently done as well. Everyone played their part with a clear character/stereotype in mind, but it was not at all stereotypical. Gary Oldman was fabulous, as were Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. And of course, Christian Bale makes me wish that I needed saving. He he. It was so nice to watch an action/adventure/superhero movie that not only was fun, but thought-provoking. The Joker is so insane that some of the things he says actually make sense! The movie plays with your mind, in a good way. So, in the end, it is great to have Batman back to 'show you the way'.

Impressive effects, but all the same: glass shattering, explosions, bullets, chase scenes and fires! The usual.
For a "comics" genre, the philosophizing seemed pretentious and overblown.
The enunciation of most characters was incomprehensible.

What a movie ride! The BEST Batman movie ever! When I found out that the movie was 2 hours and 40 min. long....I kinda worried that it would be boring.....but NOT! It held my attention all the way through.
And, what can I say...Heath Ledger's Joker, was the best I have ever seen. What a talent. I would still say that, even if he hadn't died. No doubt, he would have won an award for his excellent portrayal. He still might. I definitely recommend this movie!

This movie was spectacular and it wasn't overly gory. It was the perfect mix of suspense and mayhem. Blows my favorite "Batman Returns" out of the water. I would definately go see it again and I can't wait for the DVD.
