The Joker used to be my least favorite villian in the Batman series until Heath Ledger changed my mind. Heath Ledger was so absolutely amazing in his role, he deserves to be at the very least NOMINATED for it! Aaron Eckhart did an amazing job as Two Face. The special effects, acting, script -- the entire film -- is worth the 10 dollars. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.

I am a huge Batman fan and I must say that this one was the best one. I always loved the original with Jack Nicolson in it, but this one probably topped that, and I thought that was impossible. Heigh Ledger aka The Joker gets a 5 star performance and must get the academy awards. Even if you never watched many Batman flicks, watch this one and you'll become a huge fan. Thank you Christopher Nolan. The atmosphere was great seeing it at Midnight in Natick, MA

I absolutely loved the movie. Seeing it in a charged midnight showing theater was the way to go, because the excitement was undeniable. Someone told me that they weren't scared at all by the Joker's Laugh because it was so sincere. I completely disagree. The fact that his laugh was so sincere and he was so pleased at what he was doing was the very thing that made it so entirely disturbing. Anyways, all of the performances were great, the writing was fantastic....it was flawless!

First off I just want to say that Heath nailed the roll of The Joker. He was weird and captavating and I truly enjoyed his performance. May he rest in peace.
Over all the movie was a little long but I can't say that I was ever bored during the movie. I do like Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne but I think his Batman voice is WAY too forced. He should have brought it back a bit and made it deep and mysterious without sounding like the big bad wolf.
I fully enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. I felt for the characters and was engrossed within every moment.
I loved it!

It wasnt all hype for no reason. It was actaully GOOD!
The acting was phenominal (including HEATH who totally stole the show), good story, nice special effects.

Fans have eagerly been awaiting this movie ever since the very last teaser at the end of Batman Begins three years ago: the Joker card. I can tell you right now, they will certainly not be dissapointed.
The Dark Knight really knew what it was trying to say. In some ways, that was the only failure of Batman Begins. It seemed to be trying to say too much at once. But this time around, there seemed to be much more effort in tying things together throughout. In short, the Dark Knight is a story of how we cope with catastrophe in our lives, a theme which can be seen reflected in all the major characters.
I know that everyone's been raving about Heath Ledger's performance, but you really can't not mention it in a complete review. He was genius. His performance was dazzling in that you didn't know whether to root for him or despise him. This Joker, in other words, is incredibly twisted, but is still sickenly funny at the same time. Perfect.
And I was very happy with how they handled Harvey Dent and his eventual transformation. Eckhart could elicit sympathy with seemingly no effort. He's just a likeable guy. A terribly unlucky guy.
Anyway, this movie will definitely be just what the fans were waiting for all this time. It packs a punch and holds quite a few surprises as well. Check it out.

Easily the greatest Batman movie ever made, Heath Ledger's final performance was his best performance. His portrayal of the Joker should rank among the top movie villains in cinema history.
The Dark Knight starts off with a suspenseful bang, and never lets up. The story engages you throughout, keeping you guessing what will happen next.
Best movie of the summer, quite possibly the year. Oscar worthy in directing (Chirstopher Nolan), acting (Ledger) and overall picture.

I loved this follow-up from "Batman Begins." Even though it was quite a long movie (2.5 hours) it kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. All the actors were great in their rolls, but my favorite was definitely Heath Ledger's interpretation of "Joker." He took the part and ran with it! I loved every moment he was on the screen. This was one sequel that did not disappoint.

The movie was by far the best movie I have see in probably a decade. It was perfectly cast and Heath Ledger's role is one for the record books. There is not one single negative comments I can think about movie, unless the fact that Ledger will not be able live on and continue. I also believe that Christian Bale is also the best Batman, nobody even touches a candle to him when compared to the comics. UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!!!

And you all know what i'm talking about, about 10:30 i arrived at the theater, and sat in a packed house full of dressed up fanboys awaiting the most anticipated movie i think i've ever seen. Hype, everywhere, on every website, on every channel on every forum in every country.
So what you all are wondering i suppose is "did it live up to the hype?"
And the answer to that my friends is...........
GO SEE THE MOVIE FOR YOURSELF
With a little spoiler of my own i'll tell you that i will GUARANTEE you will not be disappointed.
I'm a Batman homer, i'm the first to admit it, but i'm not the kind of guy that raves about the guy just because he's Batman. Wouldn't be critical if a movie was bad or something was wrong. Was THIS movie perfect? No......It had its weaknesses and i'll let you folks figure them out on your own. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go see it. It's flat out the GREATEST superhero movie of all-time. No question. No contest. No debate.
And everyone says Ledger "makes this movie" which is untrue. While his performance is legendary, one of the best villain portrayals i've ever seen. Aaron Eckhart rivals Ledger in this film playing an incredible Dent/Two-Face and Gary Oldman is awesome as Jim Gordon and Bale again is awesome as Wayne/Batman. Caine and Freeman are incredible too, but we already know how good they both are from their other movies.
Problems i had with the movie:
- Rachel Dawes: Sorry Maggie, but it looks like it wasn't just Katie Holmes i hated. I think i just hate the character. I dont know what it is but i dont think anyone could portray her and i'd actually like it. She's Bruce's childhood friend, the woman he loves, certainly a big part of the movie storyline yet i cant just help wishing she'd go away.
- Sal Maroni: What happened? What happened to the mob in general? They're so dangerous and lethal but they dont even do anything in the movie. Falcone in the last movie at least was a threat. Eric Roberts reminded me of some kind of mob movie spoof. I was hoping for a lot more from him.
- Batman: Talking like he's been smoking for 32 years? I didn't like this in Batman Begins and now that he actually spoke A LOT in this movie i didn't like it even more. I could live with Batman not really looking like Batman, no yellow utility belt etc. But at least sound human. The bat signal still looks lame too.
Still an excellent movie, not perfect, not the best movie i've ever seen. But excellent anyway.

This is one of the best movies to hit theaters in a long time. Christopher Nolan does a masterful job of directing and the cast is excellent, especially Heath's performace of the Joker (you can't take your eyes him). Running time is 2hrs and 30min but it flys like a bat in the night.

This movie was the best Batman movie to date. The portrayals of the Joker and Two-Face, by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart were amazing. The film was put together in a way that makes the viewer never want it to end. The intensity was dispersed evenly throughout the whole film, and the complexities of the plot kept you guessing. Overall this film was unbelievably good and I know I'll be seeing it at least once more.

This movie was absolutely AMAZING! Even though I was super tired (at midnight...) I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really enjoyed Christian Bale's performance, but there's no doubt Heath Ledger stole the show. Ledger's performance was positively engaging. This enstallment of Batman maintained the comic book tradition while cutting out the cheese and sensibly conveying the drama.
My only complaint is the character Rachel Dawes. Her personality in Dark Knight is in such stark contrast to Batman Begins; she was all beauty and no brains! What happened to the strong, idealistic Dawes? I felt like all Gyllenhaal did was flip her hair, kiss the heroes and confuse everyone.
Overall though, the movie was well-rounded and wonderully entertaining.

The Dark Knight lived up to all the hype that it brought on itself. Heath Ledger brought the joker into the darkness where he belongs, and Christian Bale was solid as batman once again. Gotham just seems to feel right in this one, something that I've felt has been missing in the past.
