This movie was absolutely AMAZING! Even though I was super tired (at midnight...) I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really enjoyed Christian Bale's performance, but there's no doubt Heath Ledger stole the show. Ledger's performance was positively engaging. This enstallment of Batman maintained the comic book tradition while cutting out the cheese and sensibly conveying the drama.
My only complaint is the character Rachel Dawes. Her personality in Dark Knight is in such stark contrast to Batman Begins; she was all beauty and no brains! What happened to the strong, idealistic Dawes? I felt like all Gyllenhaal did was flip her hair, kiss the heroes and confuse everyone.
Overall though, the movie was well-rounded and wonderully entertaining.
