Heath Ledger did a amazing job playing the Joker!! He played this role so good that I almost forgot about Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker. Christian Bale however is trying to hard to be Batman. Don't get me wrong he portrays Bruce Wayne very well but he is just not very believable as Batman.

The movie was ok, a bit to long, and makes me long for the Tim Burton batman! Maggie Gyllenhall was a tad annoying but i am sure less than Katie holmes. I dont like the human introspective batman and villians, I like to see the fight between batman and the villians and the campiness of it all, which here there is none

Heath Ledger, there are no words, he was the BEST JOKER i have ever seen. It was the best performance i have ever seen hands down and all. Christian Bale was an AMAZING Batman and the movie was overall AWESOMELY AWESOME and its a MUST SEE! no matter WHAT! the only thing i really didnt like is that they changed the actress for Rachel Dawes and that really bugged me, especially Maggie Gyllenhaal, i man come on, Katie Holmes was much better but IT WAS AWESOME!!!

There are just too many words and ways to describe how good this movie was. I mean, I had no doubt Heath Ledger would be great but, DAMN! He was incredible! There were so many moments when I wanted to just cry because of how good he was. Also of how unfair it is that he will never get to see his greatest work. Anyway, Christian Bale and Morgan F. and Michael Cain were awesome too.

This is easily the best movie of 2008. It will no doubt receive many nominations for screenplay and a few others, most notably for Heath Leger's Joker, which made Jack Nicholson look like a harmless jester. There were numerous parts when the theatre stopped and applaueded the film in the middle of the movie. The only negative that I've heard and seen was it was very graphic and violent for a PG-13 and young kids might not be able to handle the violence. Seriously. It was that good.

Unlike it's earlier incarnations from the likes of Tim Burton and Joel Schumacker. The new incarnations from the creative mind of Chris Nolan(director of the Prestige) can ultimately be described as the to see films of their time. Batman begins does start out slow in order to show the viewers how Bruce Wayne became the caped Crusader and became the vigilante of Gotham City that we all remember. This time around we have the Batman rounding up some criminals who escaped Archam. Including The Scarecrow. A nice welcomed cameo by Cillian Murphy, one of the baddies from the previous film.
Gotham is in the middle of a re-awakening, but mob leaders are still trying to run the city, but fear Gotham's protector, as well as the new District Attourny Harvey Dent, who we all know will change during the film. When the mob leaders lose most of their fortune because of the Batman, they hire The Joker to kill him. Only the Joker uses different means to get the job done and causes much havoc along the way, making both Batman and Harvey Dent rethink their methods and fight their inner demons.
Along the way they fight over the affections of Rachael Dawes(an upgraded version done beautifully by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who takes over the role performed previously by Katie Holmes). And must find a way to get Gotham back from the hands of Gotham's filthiest.
I have to say that this movie has become one of the greats of our day. The acting was fresh and not overdone. Bale, Eckhart, Oldman, Caine, and Freedman all have their own moments in the film that truely define their characters and make this movie truely magnificent. The show stealer is Ledger's Joker, who has become one of the most iconic villians. When I first heard that Ledger was cast as the Joker, I almost fainted and threatned to boycott the movie. I'll admit that I will eat my workds 100 times over. After seeing the movie I couldn't think of anyone else to play the part after I saw this Oscar worthy performance. His tone was just right to Nolan's tone of the previous film. It takes on a liking of a witty crime drama such as the Departed, or Heat. I would see this movie many times and not get tired. Ledger put the right amount of terror, sarcasm, dark humor, and witty comebacks to make The Joker thee character of the film. I am only sad to say that with ledger's passing we may have a recast of the part if a third Batman is indeed planned. I would hate to be in the shoes of the guy who has to put on that make-up.
I give The Dark Knight an 11 out of 10 and declare it the movie of the year

TDK has everything you want from a summer flick; action, drama, chaos, and unlimiting excitement. What makes it even more exciting is that Chris Nolan has taken the Batman franchise to places fans have dreamed of for years. This is the best Batman movie ever and possibly the best movie of the year. Even if you're not a Batman fan, go see TDK to watch Heath Ledger play the Joker to perfection. He's brilliant!

The Dark Night was everything I hoped for. There was no let down at all. If there can be any complaint about the movie it is that it is pretty long. But in my opinion, I wouldn't have minded if it was still going on right now. Heath Ledger's performance was legendary. The script was perfection. I didn't think a comic book movie could top what Iron Man did. I was wrong.

The performances in this movie were absolutely breathtaking. Christian delivered another stunning performance as our tortured hero, and Michael Caine-well, he's always great. However it was all rather overshadowed-as we all knew it would be-by Heath Ledger's perfectly creepy joker. Never before have I seen such a great last performance. The voice, the laugh, the walk...all of it served to disarm and Heath did a breathtaking job. A bittersweet ending to a beyond wonderful movie.

The action was pretty well done and the character portrayls and interactions were believable. It is interesting that in this movie and Batman Begins, a gritty real life approach is being taken to Batman and the super villains since it is done in a way that most people would buy. I enjoyed the movie myself, and I would suggest for anyone who is a fan of Batman to go see this movie.

i thought the movie was great. been a big fan of batman forever. was not disappointed wit this movie. Heath Ledgers final performance was amazing and is truly believable as a psychotic killer. haha. christian bale, best batman since michael keaton. no i like him slightly better than keaton in modern day batman. but during the midnight screening i was on the edge of my seat the entire time. it was pretty intense. i wish katie holmes had signed back on to complete her role as rachael as the new actress seems slightly dull. but overall i really enjoyed the movie. to thumbs up!

I truly enjoyed Batman Begins and this movie was even better. Most people will want to compare Heath Ledger's performance to Jack Nicholson's but they played completely different Jokers. But if you must know, I prefer Ledger's performance.

Heath painted his masterpiece. He absolutely decimated the other actors. The movie was longwinded for most movie sitters nowadays so be prepared for an epic. It is the darkest movie I've ever seen. I watched The Crow(Brandon Lee)beforehand because I thought I might see some similiarities. After seeing Dark Knight I suggest you do the same. Heath deserves an effigy of achievement so give him his deserved acadamy award, not for politics but for raw talent. Oh by the way, forget seeing another joker after this performance there is no need to do another joker.

Firstly, I would just like to say that the fact that I am taking time to review this movie is a huge deal, I do not usually do this, but I feel like it was that amazing as a movie to write about it.
Secondly, I'd like to talk about the movie. I can easily say that this was the best sequel to a movie I have ever seen. Spider-man 2 had been my #1 until The Dark Knight blew it out the water. It was VERY dark, which made it even more excellent and every part of it gets an A+.
The script wasn't cheesy with those stupid one-liners that you always hear in action movies. You know, the hero is in trouble, and about to die, yet he still has time to pull one out.....there were none in this movie, making it very realistic.
The make-up for the joker was...well, there are no words. When you see the movie, you'll know what I'm talking about.
There was back to back action but not an excessive amount that made you want to throw up already.
