My wife and I went to the 12:01 showing, you know hard it is to get your wife to go to a movie at midnight and not on a weekend, as we sat there I was hoping the movie would live up to the hype, (I did not want to hear her say at 1:00 am it's late, the movie sucks, let's go home) but to my pleasent supprise she her eyes stayed fix to the screen the whole 2 and 1/2 hours. She loved the movie and it did live up to all the hype and then some. The joker is deep but you see that in the preview, the supprise is how deep actor Aaron Eckhart was able to take his Harvey Dent. Overall a great movie, one that even my wife would like to watch again, but not at Midnight:)

The acting is superb, with Heath Ledger and Christian Bale providing powerhouse performances as the Joker and Batman, respectively. The film is technically sound with superb cinematography throughout and an intense storyline which never skips a beat.
Not to be missed.

The Dark Knight is by far the best superhero movie period. The story is deep and heath ledgers performance as the Joker is phenomenal. Two Face transformation is perfect. Hands Down they did an awesome job with this one. Can't wait to see how they will take this movie next.

The Dark Knight was everything I hoped it would be. and the key word is DARK. Finally a batman that adults can relate to. Ledger was awesome in his psycho roll but there was plenty of good acting to go around. And kudos to Nolan for not dedicating the movie to Ledger. Right on.

new perspective on batman

I am absolutely loving the new twist on the batman series. The addition of the villains from the cartoons reveal more and more of batman as a character. The amazing acting by Heath Ledger portrays the Joker as what he truly is, a Schizophrenic villain. Yes Jack Nicholson did an amazing job, but Heath puts a new perspective on the Joker. The addition of Two-Face was a but i was hoping to see more of him in the third. The movie is relatively longer then other movies so be sure not to drink to much liquids before it starts because it runs 152 minutes.
There is no additional blurp at the end of the credits so don't waste your time hoping that you will get a glimpse of the next villain. I am hoping for Catwoman and or the Penguin.
But we might see another cartoon villain added into the third one. Clayface would be to close to the spider mans sand man. Harley Quinn would be nice to see since we just ended with Joker being put away. Bane would be nice also even though he is more of a push over villain being told what to do. Though Riddler, poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze would be fun to see I doubt the directors will want to attempt them for the 3rd movie maybe place the characters into the 3rd one and having them deformed or crazed into being a villain at the end spilling into the 4th.

It's incredibly long, and I was a little "meh" in the first half, but the second half really picks up in character interest, shiny effects, and story line. Overall, I really liked it - even if my butt was numb!

The BIKE!!! The JOKER in the nurse uniform baffled about why the bomb didn't work---- CLASSIC Joker. If you are a truly a COMIC book fan collector like I am--- Christopher Nolan is pure genius! How many superhero movies so eloquently used so many villains in one movie: THE MOB, SCARECROW, TWO FACE and THE JOKER!! Brilliant comic book move. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhall, Heath Ledger, Eric Roberts and Cillian Murphy ROCKED! Spiderman II will always hold for the best fight scenes, but the DARK KNIGHT will be the best SUPERHERO movie ever!! For those that loved the Justice League/ Unlimited YOU won't be disappointed, if anything it should make you want to run to a comic book store to see why Mr. Nolan led us down this DARK path. The Dark Knight had great acting, great gadgets, great costumes, great killings (if they can be called great), great drama and great directing. Thank you Mr. Nolan. Thank you entire Cast, and finally, Thank you Mr. Ledger for bringing one of my favorite villains to life straight out of the comic books.

As my first Batman movie experience, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. But I was absolutely floored by how entertaining this movie was! Ledger's performance as the Joker was funny, frightening, and even lovable at times. Bale makes a perfect batman, the perfect hero. You will laugh, you will probably cry, and you wil l definately be thrilled!

Exceptionally dark, but a movie that can pull off this kind of high drama and do it well is almost refreshing these days. Heath Ledger is absolutely brilliant and unbelievably creepy as the Joker. His character puts you on edge every time he's on screen; he really steals the show. Batman pales somewhat beside him.

The Dark Knight starts as it ends: Intensely. The performance of the cast as a whole was spectacular with one exception: Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger stole every scene he was in! His version of the Joker was sinister, scary, and believable. I had an eerie feeling watching this movie knowing that Mr. Ledger had passed. He left to us his best work. It is by far one of the best movies I have seen!

I have seen every movie this summer and this beats them all! I went in not really expecting much because of all the hype, but was blown away by the script and acting. The movie is almost 3 hrs, but I never felt like it was a long movie. Heath Ledger might be one of the all time best "bad guys" and I agree he should win an Oscar. Go see this even if you don't like comic book heros.

I wish Heath Ledger hadn't died so he could make a sequel to this film - his portrayal of The Joker is utterly amazing. Bale is once again an excellent Batman, and overall this film is truly epic.

There was an amazing amount of hype for this movie especially given the passing of Heath Ledger. Most times, this level of hype brings disappointment. Not so with The Dark Knight. The Joker was played to perfection. He gave you the creeps while still making you laugh. The action was superb and the story satisfying. The moral dilemas were thought provoking and the message piognant. A perfect movie from start to finish.

The joker definitely steals the show in this movie. I have never been one to sit down and watch the Batman movies-- but this one was all around a good movie. The pace for the movie was good and kept all entertained.

Action packed, strong storyline, plenty of one-liners and humor amid the intensity. If you like Batman Begins, you will be very happy with The Dark Knight.

The movie was explosive exciting and left me on the edge of my seat. After the joker’s magic-trick with a pencil, all I kept thinking was what is the joker going to do next? Not to under shadow Bales phenomenal performance, but Heath deserves an Oscar because of a performance that makes Jack Nicholas' look like childs play.

This movie was already receiving excellent reviews before I even saw it myself. Because of that, I went into the movie feeling heavily optimistic. Still, my expectations were far beyond exceeded! WOW.
The movie is extremely heavy, dark, and intense and yet I was yearning for more. I am not a die-hard comic book movie goer but I really enjoyed the first one and knew I had to see this one. It's hard to even compare the two. This one definitely stepped it up about 5 notches.
Everything about it just feels so real. Because Batman does not have any real "super powers", everything that he does seems quite possible. You stomach will stay just a little bit uneasy until the end because of how real Gotham feels. You will be hoping for resolve more than any other movie you will see (at least this summer). Any drama or action fan will LOVE this movie.

I must say that I had high expectations going into this movie. You know the kind where you think, "They can't possibly deliver what I am imagining". Well I have to say that my expectations were blown away. I had my reservations about the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker (Come on you know you did to). But after he demonstrated how to make a pencil disappear I don't think I can view anyone else playing this part (This will make sense after viewing the movie). He really did own the part. Even more so than Bale as Batman. In the end I left the theater with a bitter sweat feeling. Heath is gone and with him the best villian I have ever seen on the big screen. Better than Darth, Terminator, Aliens, ect... I don't know that a 3rd movie can top this one, but I didn't think a sequel could top the first one either.
