Two hours and forty minutes of glory. If you thought the first one was good, then you'll love this one even more. I went in knowing it was going to be great and they surpassed my expectations by far. Better than Iron Man, and maybe even Indiana Jones.

Great movie...enough comedy to give you a quick break but didn't try to turn it into a funny drama as so many do now. Heath Ledger was fantastic and definitely stole the set. Highly recommend movie and I am not a comics fan...just a really good movie!!

So, this movie definately blew my mind. But have fair warning, it's not for everyone....young children, easily frightened people, or heart patients need not apply. This was an adult movie, not because of sex, drugs, or rock and roll, but it's just freakin' scary! But, if you can handle thrillers and psycho movies....than get ready for the best movie of the year! Hands down, the best superhero movie (and I LOVED Ironman) and smacks Batman Begins into submission. This is a much darker take, full of violence, drama, and creepiness! Heath Ledgers preformance was priceless and totally shows up Jack Nicholsons Joker. So if you're looking for something to get your pulse racing.....GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT RIGHT NOW!!!

Heath Ledger made this movie, he played the Joker to perfection. As good as Jack Nicholson's original Joker was, this one was by far the most dark and cynical Joker. Heath's performance kept your in your seats with your eyes wide open the whole time.

We went to see this movie at the midnight premiere and it was frickin unbelievable! The Joker was such an amazing character and Heath Ledger did an incredible job of being him! He honestly completely stole the movie. Batman didn't really contribute anything to the movie- the Joker stole every scene from him. The only thing that did really bother me about this movie is Batman's voice. It sounded unnaturally low and just made me laugh every time he spoke. I would highly recommend this movie to everyone! Even if you aren't a Batman fan, go see this movie because he really doesn't play that big of a role; the Joker does.

This is the eeriest movie ever filmed! Your correspondent believes nothing more need be said about that. The introduction of Joker is incredible. The make-up on joker is incredible. The clothes of joker incredible. The actions of joker incredible. The acting of joker... can only be described by a single ellipsis. Only the omission of the actual description can suffice.
Wayne is a little more arrogant in this film, but unlike the other comic book characters Wayne deals with real issues like the inner struggle of the hero and anti-hero, not that kinda stuff of whether the girl loves me or not. He never fails to arrive in fashion with supermodel glory-girls in tow. There are only two types of scenes in the film: action and ACTION. So if one enjoys action and beyond then this film is sufficient 2 + hours of entertainment.
If you are still reading this, kick your a $ $ all the way to the theater seat.

I couldn't wait to watch this film-- Batman Begins was absolutely a fantastic film; I knew the sequel wouldn't dissapoint. I was one of millions who paid to see it Friday morning; worth every penny. The action was intense, the characters had depth and a sense of personality, and the story itself was incredibly well done. Its a shame that Heath Ledger passed away because he is the best 'Joker' I have ever seen; sorry Jack Nicholson.
I definitely recommend this film!!! Bravo Christopher Nolan!

I've read other reviewers who compare this flick to other crime related dramas, and to be quite frank I think they are no talent hacks. When reviewing a piece of art, if your only ability is to compare it to something else, and not enjoy it on its own merits, you need to stop writing. This movie breaks the barriers between the worlds of reality, comic books, and film wide open. Chris Nolan takes his largest budget and uses it like a kid in a candy store to great effect; eliciting the exact feelings he wants to elicit, with the delicate touch, or massive sledgehammer, and he does it with an ability only a true Master can obtain. This was a great film. I heard people coming out of last nights screening talking about how they could see how playing the Joker killed Ledger. I say Bull; he died because he was on a bunch of different meds, and while obviously a better actor than his turn in a Knights Tale would suspect, was still dumb enough to OD. I almost suspect he OD'd on purpose to make what he felt was an untoppable performance his lasting legacy. And indeed his performance was the greatest incarnation of the Joker to grace any screen. Inevitably people will compare it with Jack Nicholsons performance in that Tim Burton flick. There really isn't a comparison because the films themselves were so thematically different, the directing so drastically different, and while developed from the same source material, would be like trying to compare the Joker from the oft lamented Batman Motion Picture from the 60's. In Short: This movie stands on it's own in whatever category of film you want to place it, Drama, Suspence, Action, Crime, it has it all and dispenses it sparingly and gluttonously at the same time.

Well, this review may be a little bias because it is coming from a true comic book fan, but reguardless, I would still be honest if the movie was horrible!
This movie has so much more depth to the plot than Batman Returns and was very dark in it's plot, that at some points it's a tad bit confusing to understand who the bad guy really is. Despite this though, the characters were worth following with little to no let down of expectation. Everything from Heath Ledger's eerie performance as the Joker (awesome performance), to Michael Caine's comical yet counselor-like role, to Christian Bale's excellent portrayal as (in my best Heath Ledger Joker voice) "The Bat Man". Tthis movie is worth the price of admission no matter what town you live in or how expensive it is! This movie was by far the better of the two movies thus far and I am anxiously awaiting yet a third movie in this series. I think the performance of the entire movie though hands down is by Aaron Eckhart who plays the D.A. Harvey Dent. I totally enjoyed watching his character transcend from good to evil and eventually self-destruct by his very own hands....it was truly and amazing piece of acting and I can't wait to see this movie again!

I was a little confused when the movie began, what with all the Batman's, or Batmen? Anyway, it wasn't the mushy love story that I thought it was going to be (Superman), it was fast paced, energetic and a little suspenceful. Batman was pushed to his limits by a very maniacal Joker who always keeps his cool.
The million dollar question is, who plays a better Joker, Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger. That is really a tough question to answer and I'll tell you why. Jack Nicholson was the perfect Joker for Michael Keaton's Batman while Heath Ledger is the perfect Joker for Christian Bale's Batman. Nicholson's Joker was comical/maniacal and Ledger's Joker was maniacal/comical. (What a great disappearing pencil trick). I guess it's a matter of preference. (My vote goes to Mark Hamill).
Though I would recommend this movie I will say that the ending is very disappointing.

I had been anticipating this movie for months now, and was pleased to discover that it lived up to my anticipation, even surpassing it in some ways. For example, Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was fantastic! It left me wishing that he was in every scene of the movie!
The scenes were fast moving and packed with action so this is a film that I will definately be seeing a few more times in the theatre!

From the beginning the movie is a thriller action packed movie. You will hear pin drop silence in the theatre the first 15 mins. I saw the midnight show and it was filled w/ teenagers/young adults loud before the movie but silence as movie started. The movie: Great acting, better than Iron Man /Hulk, will break $100 M weekend Gross.

The Dark Knight is a great movie, with a few things that even managed to surprise me (and I usually see things coming a mile away). Bale has really captured the essence of both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Ledger is an AMAZING Joker. Here is the Joker from the comic books, we are presented with a genius deranged psycho who is truly a match for Batman. And that just covers the two biggest stars. Every other major (and minor, really) character seems well chosen and well suited to the role. This is a movie where you can lose yourself for two and a half hours and simply be drawn into the fictional world that has been created.
This movie, even more so than the previous, is NOT suitable for children. It can be violent and frightening at times, so leave the kids with a sitter and just take the adults to the theater.

Hats (or cowls) off to DC. They have brought a comic character to life to a degree I thought not possible. The entire cast including Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, etc. (including Michael Caine) were excellent. They truly fleshed out their characters. I gained a huge appreciation for Mr. Ledger's abilities. A great loss indeed.
The action was top notch, the make-up (TWO FACE) incredible, even the humor and heart-felt areas were believable. Thanks to all involved!
