I absolutely loved this movie. I was entertainted throughout the whole 2 1/2 hours. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was incredible. The only thing that annoyed me was that the character of Rachel was a different actress, but overall this movie is a must see.

I saw this movie at a midnight showing the day after it came out, being dragged along with my Batman-obsessed girlfriend. I was sceptical having seen the old movies that this one would be any good. To my amazement, I was absolutely riveted by the story and was literally at the edge of my seat until 2 something in the morning. I would absolutely recommend seeing this movie in theatres!

The Dark Knight is not a film to be missed. It has a switftly moving plot, a long list of very capable actors bringing every character to life in a believable manner, and more than enough action to satisfy any moviegoer. Heath Ledger's Joker is both chilling and funny at the same time (which is what the original concept of the Joker was intended to be in the 1930s). Christian Bale delivers a excellent performance as Batman again. Bale clearly understands and respects the character that he plays because I was just as surprised by the twists in this movie as I was when I first read some Batman comics. It must be made clear that this is not a movie for small children; this is nothing like the cartoons, or the old TV show, or any of the Batman films that came before it. As the title implies, the Dark Knight is DARK, and also violent and gritty, with an intensity that one rarely experiences at the movies these days. I left the theater feeling numb, it is that intense. The Dark Knight stands as more that a sequel, and more than just a superhero movie. Not only is it Heath Ledger's swan song on the big screen, but it also shows how powerful any film can be when you have the right people making it.

What an experience. I say that because the Dark Knight is not just another super hero movie, it is simply the experience of a lifetime and it is absolutely the Batman movie fans have been waiting for. I'm not going to say too much here because this is simply is just too good of a rush to spoil with an in depth interview. The acting, directing, cinematography are all top rate. Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and all of their co-stars are simply awesome in their roles. This movie rocks and you will leave wanting more. I plan to go see this on IMAX soon. It is very much worth the long drive and price of gas. You will be sorry if you miss this masterpiece on the big screen.

That is to say deliciously dark and disturbing. Within the first five minutes - less than that even - you're sucked in and then the rest of the time battered around as the plot gets darker and darker. Very bitter and slightly sweet.
Why is it so good? Because this film is not just about the characters of Gotham City. It's only through the characters that many questions are asked and some answers are made about humans as individuals and civilization or society as a whole.
One side comment I would make is that parents should NOT bring their children to this film. After two and a half hours of suspense/horror/action/drama I was completely dazed and confused to the real world around me. It's just a very heavy film that no child should see - for the child's sake.

Simply amazing. This movie comes across more as a crime drama than it does a superhero movie. Excellent job done by director Christoher Nolan. Ledger's performance as the Joker will leave you actually fearful that there really are people like him out in this world of ours....

I believe that Christian Bale did it again with a great interpretation of Batman. The movie was great....Also I think that Heath Ledger's performance of the Joker was brilliant...it showed a more sadistic side.

I was unsure about this new look on Batman & really only wanted to see it because of Heath Ledger. I was blow away, much better than the last one. Just when you think its over, it comes at you again and again. Heath Ledgers AMAZING, it's a shame he was taken before his time... Go See It ! Definitely worth the 11.00 or so to see it

Honestly, there is nothing to say about this movie other than it will go down in movie history. It is not your typical kiddie superhero fare, but instead is anything and everything a devout fan of the Batman comics would want to see in a Batman film. Performances were brilliant from everyone. (Need I even bother singling out Heath Ledger?) The entire two-and-a-half hours move swiftly, and the weight of intensity never lifts until ten minutes after you've left the theatre. Every second of the film counts. Everything is in place.
I've heard it said by many adults that a movie has not created so much hype since the original Star Wars, and I think that must be true. This will go down in movie history. It is pure brilliance.

I have nothing bad to say about this movie. The acting is great; Heath Ledger's performance was potentially his best. Other than being just a great action flick, anyone with a penchant for ethics will not be disappointed. Underlying the action is an amazing presentation of what it means to be moral/ethical in today's society. I am certain I will be watching this movie again.

WOW!! Heath Ledger was just amazing!!! He played that character with perfection! The movie was just great....absolutely loved it! My 6 year old loved it!! It was long though....for my 6 year old! As for teens and adults just perfectly entertaining! I actually want to go see it again!!

I saw the Midnight Premiere and it was worth staying up late for. Months ago when I heard Ledger was cast as the Joker, I thought - bad move. Like Keaton pulled off the role of Batman in 1989, Ledger more than pulls off the role, taking it to the next level where he actually becomes the Joker (in this movie). His role in this movie is more than Oscar worthy, he, simply put, defines the Joker. When you are watching a scene, in this movie, without the Joker in it - you can hardly wait for him (the Joker) to reappear. This movie does a great job of showing the transformation of Harvey Dent to Two Face, although none of the previews indicate this. Ledger's mannerisms in this movie are extraordinary. Bale delivers as Batman (Keaton is still the best) and the whole movie draws you in.
On a minor note, the movie is a tad too long, but you won't mind and scenes with Harvey Dent at times lack interest. The movie wanders at times, but overall this is the movie hit of the Summer, the year and may be the Best Batman movie ever made. It's sad Ledger didn't live to see himself excel in his role as the Joker or to receive his well due Oscar!

Absolutely amazing - the writing and the directing were incredible. And Heath Ledger as The Joker - that was jaw-dropping. Very scary and psychotic, it really seems to personifiy his darkest depths. I hope he is nominated for an oscar, he was so talented.

Best Batman movie . . . ever! Heath Ledger is oscar-worthy. Christian Bale, Aaron Echkart, and the remaining cast are incredible. Christopher Nolan continues to impress. Even non-comic book fans should watch this film.
