I saw the Midnight Premiere and it was worth staying up late for. Months ago when I heard Ledger was cast as the Joker, I thought - bad move. Like Keaton pulled off the role of Batman in 1989, Ledger more than pulls off the role, taking it to the next level where he actually becomes the Joker (in this movie). His role in this movie is more than Oscar worthy, he, simply put, defines the Joker. When you are watching a scene, in this movie, without the Joker in it - you can hardly wait for him (the Joker) to reappear. This movie does a great job of showing the transformation of Harvey Dent to Two Face, although none of the previews indicate this. Ledger's mannerisms in this movie are extraordinary. Bale delivers as Batman (Keaton is still the best) and the whole movie draws you in. On a minor note, the movie is a tad too long, but you won't mind and scenes with Harvey Dent at times lack interest. The movie wanders at times, but overall this is the movie hit of the Summer, the year and may be the Best Batman movie ever made. It's sad Ledger didn't live to see himself excel in his role as the Joker or to receive his well due Oscar!
