One of the best movies I have seen in my life. By far the best Batman movie ever. For a reasonably long movie it did not drag at all. Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was incredible and funny. There is not one bad thing I can honestly say about this movie.

This was a gripping and riveting story. Heath Ledger gave the performance of his career (unfortunately). The hero's of the cast followed up well adn the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

This is the best Batman movie ever made! The Joker was excellent, creepy and funny all at the sametime! Batman was his great self as always surprising you with great ways to kick people's butts, etc. The film was great and I would highly recommend every Batman fan to see it.

Gotham's Dark Knight is forced to make a decision between Batman or Bruce Wayne. Meanwhile, the Joker is out to create anarchy by causing the purist of heart to turn black.
This was truely an amazing film. Heath (Ledger) lived up to the hype as Batman's arch nemisis, Joker.
The Nolans were able to keep character development, and plot while providing non-stop action.

The movie lives up to its hype. Heath Ledger was incredible. This is definitely NOT a kids movie. While a little long, the movie grabbed you from the first 10 minutes and never let go. Bale's gutteral speaking as Batman was hard to understand at times. This movie is more in line with the darker story lines from the comic books, and miles away from the Adam West, Val Kilmer and George Clooney spoofs. This Joker is scary from his first scene and very believable as a psychopath. For fans of the old comics, "The Dark Knight" is the real Batman, and it is about time someone made this movie. See it!

This is an immediate top 5 movie in my book, and that's saying a lot. Usually in these superhero movies, the second and third films don't even come close to the caliber of the first. In this case, it blows the first batman out of the water.

Not what I was expecting and that turned out to be a good thing in the end. Very dark, depressing and surprising. Heath Ledger completely transformed the Joker character for me. Intersting twists in the plot for all characters. Director Christopher Nolan did a wonderful job on expanding this from just a "superhero" movie to a crime drama with the characters in unusual outfits because they have the money to hid their identify.

This batman is the way batman was intended to be. He is dark, brooding and highly intelligent. The joker is a psychopath who is the insanely evil and conducts himself as such. The characters are perfectly completed by the actors. the scenery is complete as it could be. I owuld highly reccommend this movie to everyone.

This is what movies should aspire to be. The action, the special effects, the story, all amazing. All characters were portrayed perfectly.
Some have said that it should have been made shorter, but I question where you take something out. If you pick and choose, it might have been minutes, so what's the point.
I fully intend to go see this again, and am already in high anticipation for the next in the series.

What might it mean that The Dark Knight, the second installment of Chris Nolan's Batman revamp, is well on its way to becoming the biggest grossing superhero movie of all time? Does it underscore a new public sensibility about superheroes, identifying more with normal humans with extraordinary passions? Or is it the result of a perfect storm of good story, superb cast and capable production? Most likely it's both.
In The Dark Knight, Bale's Batman grapples with the mob and the raving sociopath The Joker, played up to iconic levels by the late Heath Ledger. Although these two battle it out, the story really belongs to the journey of Harvey Dent, who comic fans will alread know, falls from grace in a major way, flipping the coin on his former life.
The film is thoroughly fascinating, well-acted and engaging. If it does have a weakness, it is, perhaps, as the Joker contends, too serious, holding viewers hostage with dramatic consequences for people who seem a little too real, including a small boy with a gun to his head for a few minutes. Batman readers will note that it all plays into this Joker's MO, distinguishing himself from previous incarnations. He's not in it for the money anymore. It's all about chaos.

The Dark Knight is the most ambitious film of the year and probably the decade. Never has a film of this scope set the bar so high and exceed its own expectations. The Dark Knight deserves all the hype and accolade that Hollywood has been buzzing about for months. This is an unforgettable film. Oh, and did I mention its Batman? It does not follow the typical comic book formula and it is truly remarkable because of it.

The movies build was excellent - plot, storyline and direction was well guided and great achievement by the director. Heath Ledgers joker was a pyschological masterpiece in that he was truely a joker of sorts. I would reommend this movie and any coming sequels. My only true quam would be that the "aura" this movie gives off is the direction they need to keep with the storyline and not venture too far off the "beating path" and try new things. This formula works. Keep it UP!

Rarely has a movie's philosophical undertones grabbed my attention. Not since the Matrix trilogy have I been pondering on a message such as in The Dark Night. The tension between good and evil is the main conflict in the film that drives most of the action. But the tension within those on the good side makes this story a thought provoking wonder. Harvey Dent's line that shows up in the trailer about good people living long enough to see themselves become the villains is a central key to this tension. Both Harvey and Batman have to battle within themselves to win or lose this inner war, and the results, even though obvious to any Batman fan, are depicted in a way that challenges the movie goer to wonder what he or she might do.
I recommend this film to teens and older movie goers.

We enjoyed the movie, lots of action and Heath Ledger was unrecognizable as the Joker, but just nailed the part, playing a creepy psychopathic killer. He really is a creeper. I hope he gets at least an oscar nomination for it. Sadly, he did not live to see the critical acclaim he is receiving for his work. What a talent, and it is sad to think his life was cut short, and so tragically.
I would definitely not bring smaller children to see this, it is very intense, and disturbing at times. I was a little shocked to see 5 and 6 yr olds with their parents at this show. Mom and Dad, leave junior at home for this one. Just a bit too scary for little ones. Junior high or a very mature upper grade schooler would probably do okay, but if your kids are easily spooked, better to take them to Wall-E instead. A must see for adults and teens will love it.

The movie makers sacrificed light in favor of darkness, both in the setting as well as the characters.
Christian Bale well-portrays Bruce Wayne as the conflicted billionaire/crime fighter.
Health Ledger was absolutely brilliant as The Joker. Too often, Oscar nods are awarded for reasons other than solid acting chops. Even though the vehicle is a superhero action flick, this is certainly an Oscar-worthy performance.
Aaron Eckhart also did an amazing job convincing us he was Harvey Dent, the "good guy," and Two-Face, driven mad by circumstances even he could not control.
I was a little disappointed in Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes. Although much, much better than Katie Holmes, she looked a bit tired on the screen and unconvincing as a love interest for either Dent or Wayne.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are outstanding actors. The "youngsters of today could learn a lot from watching these two men perform.
Anthony Michael Hall was a clever surprise.
Overall, an outstanding movie that was well-paced (no problem keeping focused for 2 1/2 hours), well-acted, and likely the best Batman yet!

Dark, Incredible, near flawless. The Dark Knight takes what was so good about Batman Begins and ups the ante. From the opening scene it is very apparent that the Joker is a brand new kind of criminal. He doesn't have some grand scheme to destroy the entire city or even to kill Batman. His entire goal is chaos and that's exactly what you get for 2.5 hours. There was never a moment during the movie that I absolutely knew what was going to happen next. The acting is superb on the parts of all the actors (even if scenes with Maggie Gyllenhall and Christian Bale felt forced, should have stuck with Katie Holmes). This is the best batman movie ever and quite possibly the best movie I've seen in years. Go see it.
