Heath Ledger did the Joker role a complete justice. He played the role better than anyone has ever done prior to him. No one will be able to follow him in this role and do it justice. Excellent movie!

The title says it all! Heath Ledger was the best villain I have ever seen in a movie. Although the movie was dark, it reminds me of what is going on in the world. In my opinion, Batman is George Bush as foreshadowed for the next movie. Batman is doing what's right for Gotham City, as GB is doing what's right for this country, but everybody hates him for it. People will eventually see this, but it may be too late once that realize it. Loved Batman and my country!

This was by far the best Batman in the entire history of the Batman saga. Heath Ledger was phenomenally brilliant as Joker, making the character he created a film icon. This is a must see for anyone who wants to see true brilliance that the late Heath Ledger displayed.

The Dark Night is the best action/superhero movie of the summer. It blows away movies like Ironman that grossed over $34 million. Outstanding performances from Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Aaron Eckhart, BUT one character stood out from the rest....the joker. The joker lived up to all the hype over the movie. Heath Ledger did all the Batman fans proud and did not disappoint. Heath sure would deserve an Oscar nomintion. Dark Night gets two thumbs up.

The Dark Knight was a great surprise. I didn't want to get too caught up in all of the frenzy over the movie, so I avoided early reviews. I had seen the extended trailer a few months ago and was really intrigued. The movie did not disappoint. While Christian Bale's Batman did not depart from his stoic and dark heroics, the star of the movie was Heath Ledger's Joker. Twisted and scary, the Joker stole every scene with his total pursuit of chaos. I felt tense throughout. The theme of good versus evil was wonderfully portrayed. The one drawback was that the movie was probably a half hour too long, but thoroughly entertaining.

This is the best batman movie made so far. The interaction between the characters is incredible, and the plot is well above the typical comic book fare of the other superhero movies.
The suggestions of Heath Ledger getting a posthumous oscar nod are well deserved.

I have always been leary when a movie has been hyped by advertising, professional reviewers. There is usually a reason for the hype, to sell tickets before word of mouth keeps all of us from going to see the movie at the Theater.
Dark Knight did not dissappoint. This is probably the best movie taken from the comic book genre. Christopher Nolan does a fantastic job of keeping you entertained from the first scene all the way to the finale. He keeps you guessing and introduces characters we are sure to see in the future.
Heath Ledger has taken the role of the Joker to a new level. He shows why he was considered the next big talent from Hollywood. His role deserves the Oscar!! I can't think of anyone else even coming close to his performance as the Joker.
This is also a GREAT Movie. It introduces some moral questions we all have to think about , "What would we do?". It has a complex plot that keeps you guessing even though we think we know how it will end.
Christian Bale turns in another wonderful acting role though he will be overshadowed by Ledger. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were not just big names with cameo roles they were very relevant to the Plot. Aaron Eckhart will also be remembered for a great performance, I look forward to seeing him in future roles.
This is a must see, I plan on seeing the IMAX version next.

incredible!! heath is convincing as the joker.Christian Bale ,as always, did a great job as batman.The movie is 2 hours long but it did not matter,the director Chris Nolan did a great job pacing the movie,it reminded me of the movie "The Departed".All in all, a must see a must watch

Great movie. So much better than the first one... and a thousand times better than the batman sequels of old. Please don't ever add Robin into these movies and I will definitely keep going to see them. I really hope they don't make the same mistakes that the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises did by adding too many villains and storylines into the third movie. That was the downfall of the original series of Batman movies.

I had very high expectations for this movie, based on all the press on it beforehand, the sucess of Batman Begins, and of course, the death of Heath Ledger and all the posthumous praise generated. The movie blew me away. I thought Christian Bale was once again the best Batman I have ever seen. The supporting cast was perfect and the storyline was exciting and detailed enough to hold interest for the entire two and a half hours. I kept looking for Heath Ledger in the Joker. I never found him, he WAS the Joker. You couldn't tell WHO was playing the part, and it wasn't because of the makeup. It was because Heath was totally transformed. No familiar voice, movement, facial expression, nothing. This was totally amazing to me.
I also loved that the trailers that I had seen weren't actually in the movie, they were made from pieces of footage and dialog. So that way, you don't feel as if you've seen part of the movie already, something that's always bothered me about trailers.
All in all, The Dark Kinght is the best comic-based movie I have ever seen. As a movie in general, it definitely makes the Best-Of List I have. It is not for small children. It is not a popcorn movie. It is a movie with great story, great performances, great 'toys', and is visually excellent. I highly recommend that everyone looking for an intelligent, entertaining movie, one that won't leave you when the credits roll, The Dark Knight is the one for you. I truly see lots of prizes for this one come award season.

Loved this movie. Heath Ledger was great, as were all the other male stars in the movie. Maggie Gyllenhall did an average job. It's a pity that we won't get to see more Heath Ledger movies. To imagine that someone who played a gay cowboy could do such a WONDERFUL job playing a villainous characters was a treat.

Heath as the Joker steals the show (but you know that already or else you live under a rock).
The moral of the story is clear.
Eveything about the movie is fine except . . .
. . well . . .
. . .except the Bat"Suit".
It just doesn't look right.
Maybe because it's a work-in-process(just like the personna of the Batman.

I NEED the Batman to be "DARKER" (it is the Dark Knight isn't it?)
In too many instances we see the Batman in the full light and he looses his mystique.
