A bit long, and the Dent subplot was a bit much -- I wanted more of the Joker/Batty back and forth.
Great movie. Ledger deserves an Oscar nod and Bale continues to keep Batman charging along.

This movie does not disappoint...we would have preferred them to handle the end a little differently, but other than that it was a great time. I did however prefer Iron Man to Dark Night. Great effects and performances...Christian Bale is great as Batman; Heath Ledger's performance is absolutely amazing.; Maggie Gyllenhall came across as a better Rachel than Katie Holmes did. Morgan Freemen is great as always. The action scenes were truly amazing. This movie provided a nice escape for 2 1/2 hours.

I absolutely loved "Batman Begins" so I figured it would be hard for "The Dark Knight" to top it. But it did. "The Dark Knight" was absolutely amazing! There is so much going on but the movie was so well put together that the plot line flows very well. Heath Ledgers' performance as the Joker was very good (although I think the hype about his performance is a little over the top). I would definitely be willing to pay to see this movie again while its in theatres--which in my world, is high praise!

Health Ledger's role as the Joker is a must see. He will be forever remembered as "The" Joker after this performance. I didn't see Batman Begins, but I can't imagine this not surpassing Christian Bale's first performance as Batman. Best Movie of the summer, best Batman ever! Must see!

One word: AMAZING!!!! The whole cast was awesome! The Joker & Two-Face couldnot have been cast better. They were eeriely believable characters. The only thing that could have made the movie even better is if Scarecrow had more screentime...Cillian Murphy was great in the first movie- I was looking forward to seeing more of him in this one too!

Christopher Nolan really understands the Batman character. He gets down to his core the struggle within. This wasn't just the best batman movie, it is one of the best movies ever! Without a doubt I'm seeing it again, maybe next time in IMAX. My only complaint is Maggie Gyllenhaal is not attractive enough to have two guys fighting for her. Same goes for Katie Holmes. There's just zero sex appeal there.

"The Dark Knight" was the best movie I have seen in years. The acting from all players is amazing. A perfect mixture of comedy, drama, romance, and action. Heath Ledger truly deserves all of the praise being given him. The only downside is that we wont be able to see him play the Joker again with such feeling and raw talent. Truly amazing!

This movie accurately represents the conflicts that true heroes must face, and brings to vivid awareness what crazy really looks like. There is more substance to this Batman movie than there has ever been in a Batman flick! It is worth the 2 hours and 30 minutes to see one of the best comic book hero movies of the year!

From the acting to the graphics, the dark knight was amazing...im not much of a super hero movie person but each actor really got into their part and made it as great as it can be....its suspenseful with all of its twists and turns and makes you feel like youre in the movie...you wont want it to end

For a comic book movie to be a success, it either needs to embrace and be true to its comic book roots knowing full well that it is a comic movie (IRON MAN) or it needs to transcend the comic genre and be a movie in and of itself. You forget that movie owes its roots to a 4-color pulp. It is the latter that THE DARK KNIGHT occupies.
This movie is great. The story is dark and complex with rich characters and an engaging story.
Words cannot begin to describe the brilliance of Heath Ledger as the Joker. He is psychotic and frightening and not because of the makeup.
Watching Aaron Eckhart's character of Harvey Dent develop is also fantastic. Here is a guy who is dedicated and driven by passion and then you watch as it twists inside.
Christian Bale does another great performance, seamlessly switching from Batman to his fascade Bruce Wayne. My only complaint is that still, his Batman growl seems forced.
The rest of the cast does a great job too.
Watch also for the well directed and framed visuals.

This is by far the greatest summer action movie I've seen. The action scenes are amazing and the plots are intriguing and thought provoking. The acting is impecable. Health Leger's preformance was great, as expected, but Aaron Eckhart's preformance really caught me off guard, in a good way.
However, there are one too many plots for it to be a masterpiece; there was not one cohesive story that took the film from start to finish. During the film I thought the climax had been reached on no fewer than three occassions and after the film was over I had forgotten about the plot of the first half of the movie. All in all, great movie, but not quite up to the hype.

It was dark as only Batman could be. It went further than the graphic novels and into a realm where Gotham existed. Beautifully paced from it's introduction to the constant build toward the finale. Nolan is a master at the craft. Bale once again proved to be the most complex and fearless Batman to date. And Ledger's Joker was the icing on the cake. He stole the scene every single time. But I was really impressed by it's depth and personality with moral struggles and the line balance of chaos and righteousness or "Laughter and Slaughter". I can't wait to see it again. And can't wait to hear news about the third installation.

This Batman movie was really good, because it will appeal to non-comic book fans and to those who remember watching the 1989 Batman movie. However, the movie is not going to get a five star rating, due to the amount plot that is crammed in two and half hours. Anyone that wants to know about the origins for Joker, you will not have it here. The story goes in motion the first minute, but that is not a bad thing because we all know who the Joker is. Still, the movie has two major plot lines going for it, that makes the them go hand to hand in great sense. Plus, we have a surprise turn of event in the movie, that pretty much kills two birds with one stone. Overall, the Joker is really not the main storyline, which also good, because it avoids the trouble that other Batman movies suffer, which is people coming to see the villain not the hero. In the end, the movie is great but too much plot, but please see this movie.

First off R.I.P Heath Ledger.......your performance was truley amazing and made shivers go down my spine. to be honest i liked everything except the batman i didnt like the character he seemed to pretty boy to me but any way most people went to watch that movie for the joker unfortunately for batman lol. but the story was solid and the acting was incredible. and it actually seemed realistic not like the previous batmans where u could tell it was fantasy. but all in all the movie was amazing and solid i recommend it to all!

The Dark Knight is probably the best comic book movie yet made; it goes beyond the typical testosterone driven summer blockbuster. It combines stellar acting (from all lead and supporting characters), a classic plot (with a few twists), and current events references to provide the film treat of the summer! I will conquer with the other million people reviewing the film and state that Heath Ledger was phenomenal; he created a truly original and haunting joker character that will join the ranks of movies greatest villains.
My only criticism of the film is the final ending when Nolan parallels Batman to a Christ like figure, I felt it was a bit much; however, considering it was a summer hit, I will let it slide! Two thumbs way up, a must see!
