After seeing The Dark Knight I realized they really should stop making superhero movies because they won't be able to top this movie!!! The story was great, I'm not going to say any more so I don't spoil it but there are some good twists in it. The special effects and sound were both done amazingly.
The acting was some of the best I've ever seen inside and outside of superhero movies. Bale as always delivers his lead role with force and confidence. Ledger... should go down in history for this role as iconic!!! I literally had goose bumps when he did the signature laugh. He played a Joker true to the comics unlike any we have seen before. He was twisted, funny and frightening all at the same time. All I can say is he will be missed but at least we have such a masterful role as his last to remember him by!!! R.I.P. Heath you will be missed by many!!!

This movie was solid, although not the BEST movie ever, which I have heard so many people call it. The length got to be a bit much, but the acting was good, and everyone did great justice to their characters.

Pretend you are not from Earth and don't know who Batman is. This movie would still be as good as all say. The portrayal of The Joker is one of the most evil characters I have ever seen on screen. Awards should come for this movie, and in my opinion this is the best comic based movie ever made.

With all the hype surrounding this movie, you don't expect it to live up to the hype. In the past few years, very few movies have. The list can be counted on one hand.
With that said, this movie lives up to the hype. You are kinda mesmerized by the performances. Christian Bale's performance is solid as you would expect. And the hype surrounding Heath Ledger's performance is right on. All the actors were great, and there are plenty of small twists in the plot to draw you in. You get what you are expecting and a bit more.
The movie was filmed great. The effects are solid and are very believable. There is nothing in the film that makes you say "Aww come on". So without going on any further, if you had thoughts of myabe seeing this movie, just go. You won't be disappointed. And if this type of movie isn't your thing, you could be mildly surprised. Films like this with acting like this normally don't get Oscar attention, but this should be an exception.

Not just a super hero movie. This movie is a well-played and intricate drama mixed with great action sequences. Between a great story and top notch performances, The Dark Knight truly is one of the best films of the year.

I cannot say enough positive about this movie. It is so well made and well acted. I would say that it is certainly one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. This statement doesn't just include superhero movies either. It has such a great plotline...the actors are magnificent...the scenes are breathtaking....and it is worth every penny and every minute invested in the movie! Christian Bale has staked a claim on this character and is by far and away the best Batman ever! He plays him to hilt. You have the late Heath Leger who is just transformative in his portrayal of the Joker. Aaron Eckhart does a fantastic job in most of the movie, but really shines in the last half hour. There are just so many awesome scenes...action and otherwise that I can't go through them all...you just have to experience it yourself. You must see this movie.....today!

First off Christian Bale has taken Batman to new heights in my opinion. He is smokin hot as Bruce Wayne yet humble, sweet and caring. His subtle humor is right on the mark. Heath Ledger as the Joker makes Jack Nicholson look ridiculous. There is no humor from the Joker this time, Heath Ledger shows the Joker's true psychotic side. He makes you believe he truly is mad. I loved this movie. Is a shame Heath is not alive to recieve his Oscar because it is apparent from his performance that one is on the way.

Movie was not all that. The CGI graphics were great. I don't feel Christian Bale was as convincing as he was in Batman Begins. Commissioner Gordon and Heath Ledger did an excellent job!!!

Heath Ledger really did stand out in this film. His portrayal of the Joker was truly scary in tune in a more horrific Joker that I've seen in animated version and the comic book. Ironically it seemed many of the other characters dominated the screen more than Christian Bale did. Aaron Eckhart was a good Harvey Dent, and Maggie Gyllenhal was a great Rachel Dawes (better than Katie Homes). Overall great movie that will be hard to match with Heath Ledger gone. I think follow-on sequels will have a hard time finding characters to match the terrifying portrayal of the Joker. In a perfect world I'd give Jim Carrey carte blanch to come back as a much darker Riddler, the rest of the evil doers just don't meet the bar set by this portrayal of the Joker.

Good film. I think slightly over-hyped, but very good. Really, just about as good as the last one. Sure, Heath Ledger did a good performance. But the fight scenes weren't as good in Dark Knight & I don't think the story was as good. But that's nit-picking. Worth seeing, but over-hyped.

Utterly stunning and smart for the most part....could have done without the sonar of the whole city as far as believability....but otherwise great. Fast paced and never dull for the long run-time. Gary Oldman was better than Leger in this movie....all the hype is definitely due to his unfortunate death. Not saying Leger wasnt brilliant....just saying there are equally or more stunning performances in the pic.

Okay, so my husband loves and follows the graphic novels and was pumped to see this movie. Having some background info on the previous movies and "Batmans", I really enjoyed this movie. It is extremely "dark" and not for kids!!!! My husband loved it and kept mentioning that all night! He loved how it "stayed true" to the graphic novels and he had me asking more questions about what is in the future for Batman and his other future "Arch Nemesises" I cannot stress, however, 13 and over on kids...

The 2 1/2 hours were action packed. Action, actors, dialogue and story were all top notch. Glad we didn't wait and went the first weekend.

Great movie with plenty of action and great special effects. However, none of that supercedes the acting, particularly that of Heath Ledger.
The problem now is what do they do if they choose to have The Joker in a future film?
I don't think anyone can equal Ledger's performance.

This movie kept you riveted to the screen the entire time. To describe it in total, take one of the Batman Forever, or Batman and Robin movies, strip out any comedy and ratchet the acting and action up two fold.

All in all, I think that it was a good action flick. Of course what stood out for me was Heath Ledger's performance. After seeing him immerse himself in this role, I am almost certain it had something to do with his untimely death. He deserves an Oscar nom, if not the win.

The entire movie is a joy ride from beginning to end. The CG is flawless, Bale's portrayal of a man struggling with his decisions is dead on. Ledger is the real star of the show, playing the on-again, off-again bad guy that you kind of find yourself liking by the movie's end.
Overall, this is one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

This movie is going to exceed everyone's expectations. The story had a delightfully scary surprise of events that no one could see coming.
