Wow.....what can I say that has not already been said. Amazing movie....didn't want it to end. All of the cast were excellent but there is no mistaking the star. Heath made this movie.....Jack who ? His loss is devastating. But this movie sets the bar very high for all other "Superhero" movies.......worked on so many levels..........but Heath kicked the whole thing up a notch......God Bless Heath.

I can't remember a movie being this emotionally intense since "The Silence of the Lambs"...I can not recommend it highly enough.
And as for Heath Ledger...wow!

Get in line very early so you dont sit in the front! Great movie - very dark. The movie is long - 2.5 hrs! Worth seeing though!

I've been reading about it for months, heard nothing but incredible reviews about the movie, and even better things about Heath Ledger's last performance. I went in expecting a lot, and it far exceeded every one of my expectations. The movie itself is 2 hours and 30 minutes long, but it doesn't feel like it is. There is not a dull second in the movie, always things going on that are important to the story. It never feels like you see anything unnecessary, and even though it is very violent, there is minimal blood and zero gore, which I LOVED. It never tried to shock you when it didn't need to, and every instance where there was something violent going on, it was done very tastefully. And I must say, this was without a doubt Heath Ledger's best performance that I've ever seen. His performance in Brokeback Mountain doesn't come close to this. The whole movie it was making me so sad that he is really gone, because this performance could have really opened things up for him as an actor and I could see this movie franchise being as big if not bigger than it already is with upcoming films. He made the Joker into a real character, it didn't even seem like it was him playing the part. It was Heath Ledger as I have never seen him before. I read that he'd worked with voice coaches for months to get the voice down, and his demonic laugh was just so creepy and felt so real. I also loved how they did his makeup...just splashed all over his face like the chaos he wanted to create. I don't want to give anything away, but I loved Aaron Eckhart and his Harvey Dent character, and he was exactly what I was hoping for in what he becomes. Christian Bale is great as always, and Anthony Michael Hall even makes a few cameos as a news reporter. The element that I liked the best about this movie was that there was almost no CGI at all. There is no part that looks fake, because almost every stunt in the movie was done with real people and real explosions and on really tall buildings. That just added so much character to the movie and I was so happy that Chris Nolan (director) did it that way. I remember back when I first saw Memento and then a few years later The Prestige, I fell in love with Chris Nolan's style of directing and the feeling he leaves in you after you leave one of his movies. He says everything he means to say and there is no fluff, just so much content that you are almost left wanting more. He did a great job with Batman Begins, but, I'll say it again, The Dark Knight is without a doubt the best of the franchise so far. On a lesser note, I also thought that Maggie Gylenhaal played a much better Rachel Dawes than Katie Holmes did, and I'm glad they replaced her. And of course, how can I forget, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman performed very well, and even though their parts were small, their contribution to the film was huge. I can't recommend this movie enough, go see it and appreciate everything about it. It was so well made and I'm so happy it's getting the play and money that it deserves in ticket sales. And if Heath Ledger had to die when he did, he did a hell of a last performance. I'm glad he'll be remembered as the incredible actor that he really was.

This is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen bar none. It has a great balance of action, comedy, and romance. The action scenes are top notch and the story line is very well deveolped. The way everything connects and makes sense is brilliant. I would dfeinitely say this film is the best batman film ever. Also the performance of Heath Ledger is oscar worthy. The way he got into this character and became the sick demented joker is amazing and I challenge any actor in Hollywood to do a better supporting job. I don't just recommend you see this movie I recommend seeing it twice.

This movie lived up too all of its hype and then some. Heath's performance as the Joker will go down in history as one of the top of all time, the pencil trick is eerie and I will not be able to look at pencil's the same way, :-). the only thing I didn't quite comprehend, was the whole sonar in Batman's eyes trick, I kind of had a hard time grasping that, but other than that, what a spectacular movie.

thought every role was played wonderfully, but the relationship between bruce and rachel fell flat. it was so loud that i had a hard time enjoying the movie as much as i wanted to. and i was bothered that the joker was amusing. evil is not funny.

I would so reccomend this movie its was perfect, Heath had you laughfing and terrifyed at the same time as being the Joker. Their were so many supeises in the movie that u though would come in the next dark night, and the fights scenes weren't as hot as before but way more realistic. Seriously I can't describe in words how great the joker was, he was pure sicotic and views were brilliant I think this is the best joker ever.

Tim Burton, bury your head in the sand. The Nolan Brothers have brought the story of Batman back to what it SHOULD be. The Joker is the Homicidal, comedic, EVIL maniac that Bob Kane made him out to be not "dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight" trash. I like Nicholson, don't get me wrong, BUT it was nothing but a joke. The origin of the Joker, the cohesiveness of Gordon and the Dark Knight. The mental work of the Dark Knight the mentality of the Joker together spell a complete work of perfection. 19 years to fix what Tim Burton destroyed. Thank you so much Jonathan and Christopher Nolan you two are GODS in my book.

This movie was great, lots of emotion and character development. Heath Ledger's last performance was a great one and he fits the part really well. I might even go to say that this is the joker's movie, more than a batman movie. Either way, your summer isn't complete without seeing this movie and witnessing Mr. Ledger's brilliance. This movie was excellent. The only criticism I have is with the use of CG graphics for the character Two Face. I felt like they could have done a better job by using make-up. It felt a little too Terminator.

This was an amazing movie. Cinematically beautiful, awesome special effects, and unparalleled acting for a movie of this genre. Chris Nolan has certainly raised the bar for future Batman movies. Heath Ledger's performance as the joker was both creepy and hilarious--and he deserves every bit of credit he is getting for this role. This is definitely a must see movie.

I would recommend this movie to any true batman fan (over the age of 13), the DARK knight is taken literally and the movie examines some of the more bleak aspects of the world. This is a thought provoking film that truly does justice to the iconic characters from batman. Ledger's performance isn't just buzz. He delivers a wonderfully believable joker that It isn't too over the top. And Nolan has managed to produce a sequel that out does Batman Begins, a feat that certainly wasn't easy!
